The dreamcast one couldnt even put a dent in gameing what makes you think another one will "crush" gameing as we know it

People wont be looking back fondly and wishing the Wii were still around in 10 years time.

If DreamCast 2 comes out in 2012, would gaming take a crash with 4 consoles on the market? http://www.videogamer.com/news/06-12-2007-7049.html

comstrikeiscool

Um no, the market has grown DRAMATICALY since the last crash, I doubt another one would happen soon unless several other companies jumped on the bandwagon.

I'd like the launch to look a little like:

Shining Force 4
Phantasy Star 5

Sonic :)
Eternal Champion 2

Virtua Cop 4

Virtua Fighter 6

Wonderboy!

Alex Kidd!

Wishes are free...

i want JRPG's NOW

i am tired of all these shooters this gen HURRY UP

DarkCloud79

Who knows, but Eternal Sonata and Blue Dragon are awesome :)

Can't wait for Lost Odyssey!

You got to love low standarts.

You've obviously played them all then

Eternal Sonata is fantastic, no doubt you'll be gushing all over it when it eventually drops on the PS3.

Blue Dragon is a fun, quaint little time waster with gorgeous graphics and a light, but pleasing storyline.

Enchanted Arms, well, it's filler basically, doesn't make it bad though, it's just very average.

Luckily, the 360 has one of the best RPG's ever made: Mass Effect.

Final Fantasy probably wouldnt be around today if they hadn't borrowed heavily from Sega's Phantasy Star.

If this were true (and I doubt it is), it would make sense for Sega to team up with a larger corporation, like Toshiba, for financial support.

They could easily make a cheap, gimmicky system like the Wii.

5th generation (N64, PS1, Saturn, 3DO, Jaguar), 4th generation (Genesis, SNES, Neo-Geo, TubroGrafx), and 6th generation (Dreamcast, Xbox, Gamecube, PS2) were all much stronger than this one. This generation has no right to be comparedSmashBrosLegend

It does compare. Not since the Dreamcast has a system has such a variety of QUALITY like the 360 has provided and looks to provide into next year.

I am very impressed.

The SNES gen was previously my favorite but there are just too many great games this time around, thanks to MS.

Also, this is the first gen I've felt like I've had no desire to have more than one system. With the 360, by the end of this gen I'll have played RE5, Silent Hill 5, Ninja Gaiden II, CnC3 DMC4, VF5 a FF title, (and potentially MGS4) without having to get another system. These were the only games I would have wanted on other platforms from last gen.

I did want to play Mario but one game is not worth buying a system over.

Anybody else feel like they have no desire to get another system because of the glut of games they are getting this gen?
