@archueque Yup. I've had PS+ for a few months now, and what you get for it when now makes it well worth it. I can see why folks who don't have it now would be bothered by needing to now go get it, but having PS+ is already an awesome value. The games they give away for free are shocking.
360 was my system of choice this last gen, but I also own a PS3 and a Wii.
I just pre-ordered a PS4 today during my lunch break (might get a second so the wife can have her own) and I currently have no desire to ever buy a XONE.
The product isn't on the shelf yet, but I've already voted.
@jsmoke03 Seeing first hand the difference in quality of the online service for multiplayer games on 360 vs PS3, I am thrilled to pieces they are including online as part of PS+. First, I already have PS+, which by itself is already worth the money so I am essentially getting this "service" as part of what I've already paid for. Secondly, it will influx money to Sony so they can build a better infrastructure for making sure games are running smoother.
I have no problem with it, and frankly it was long overdue. Now MS needs to step up and start to compete with all the "freebies" that are similar to what PS+ gives away willy nilly. Hell, almost my entire library of Vita games has been given away for free at one point or another.
@Adavanter You can't project your opinions on other people like that and expect to understand.
Many people simply do not care that the Xbox One business model is what it is. They're happy to pay the price on the box for the ability to play the games they also pay the price on the box for. Or, they're happy to download games all they want.
If that model doesn't bother someone, then it is actually pretty easy to see why they might decide to go with the Xbox One over the PS4 this time around. Microsoft did actually show some pretty interesting games yesterday. Games that I might go and buy an Xbox One to play, despite already planning to get a PS4 as my main system.
I've watched every E3 press conference from the manufacturers for the last 14 years, and I've never once seen such a triumphant display like the one that happened last night from Sony.
The 360 was my first choice for games this last gen while my PS3 played only exclusives and blu-ray movies. I am, without a doubt going with the PS4 this time. Last night my wife and I were debating if we even wanted to get either of the systems at launch, or wait it out. After Sony's conference, we might end up getting two on launch day (we both have our own 360's now, and like to game together).
@tomservo51 Leaders in the industry when they N64 came out? It's curious you'd site that milestone as their leadership considering how they got man-handled by the PS1 during that generation.
