@Jedilink109 Goes a little something like this...

Room full of old guys who don't play games get pitched an idea that calculates out to more money.

End of story.

@DeanoFantasy That is, total bullshit. The "family sharing plan" did nothing more than let your selected family members play a 1 hour demo of the games in your library. You'd have to be high on crack to think MS would let 11 people (you and your 10 friends) all have unlimited access to a game that was purchased once.

CRACK

@mlavinder They don't have to program for the lowest common denominator.

Look at what already happens today with PC games looking way better, and on the consoles the multiplatform games often came out looking better on one or the other systems. That means developers are actually leveraging the power of each system.

I agree with the point about it being mostly indistinguishable, but we will see games looking better on one over the other.

@vatorus

That still exists. Buy it as a download. Done and done.

@LiquidGold Your one xbox family plan was nothing but a way to let your family play demos for about an hour. If you truly think you were going to be able to let your 10 family members have full access to your entire library of games, then you're probably smoking a rock the size of Colorado. There is no chance in hell that MS would deliberately put something in place that would effectively cut down their games sales by ~90%. No way that would ever happen.

@Ghost-Eye The logistics of changing it after release would be an absolute nightmare. It would be impossible to do that without pissing off pretty much everyone in one way or another, not to mention the lawsuits such a thing would bring on. EULA's can be leveraged pretty well, but not for that kind of gross abuse of their customers.

Believing the publishers will sell their old games for $20 when they have a complete monopoly on all used games they published.

Classic stupidity.

@eesounds A dumbed-down Myst? Myst itself is a wildly dumbed-down Myst. Speed runs in like 2 minutes for that game.
