@locke90: nothing about the term Red Dead Redemption 2 changes that. Personally, Id rather they kept the Red Dead moniker...too many possibilities beyond a simple Red Dead Redemption 2, but Red Dead Revolver was not wholly Rockstars creation. They picked up the development from Capcom.
As much as I want to replay this game (one of my favorite games of last gen, tied with UC2) I dont have a an xb1, i dont have my ps3 hooked up, and honestly, Im going to hold out for the next one. Im betting may 2017.
@jay30mcr: The post i commented on was you arguing whether the game was a big hit. It was. We can argue it until we are blue in the face. No one was duped. This game was previewed extensively, there was an open beta, it was reviewed extensively. There were hundreds if not thousands of videos previews and reviews. The only person who got duped would be the idiot who bought the game without reading a single review or preview, in which case Caveat Emptor, a principle that predates latin, but has not been as succinctly put before or after. No one was duped. What person coming to gamespot and reading posts on the boards buys games without reading a preview or review? Who do you think you are addressing? You re analogy for the Woman is terrible. For it to apply in this case you need more details: You are set up with a beautiful woman, she is friends with a bunch of other women you have date previously so at first you think you know what you are getting into as the other women were fairly similar. Before the date people tell you that they have met her and while beautiful she is not like the prior women and she doesnt have their degree of substance. You ignore them. This date is for the sake of the analogy weeks away, so more people come up and tell you the same. You get an email from the woman herself showing pictures of herself that are gorgeous, but she also outright tells you she only likes reality tv and celebrity news. A few days before the date she invites you to big PR party put on by her employer, you know you wont get a lot of time with her, but you will get a bit of her time. You go, she is gorgeous, but not much else as far as you can tell. Right before your date a friend calls you and says, I went on a date with her yesterday. She is gorgeous but vapid. You go on your date anyway. She is gorgeous but vapid. You act surprised because you ignored all the evidence to the contrary and are a moron. That is the proper analogy.
@jay30mcr: ...it launched almost 7 months ago. I stopped playing it because R&C came out, then UC4, and now the Witcher 3 dlc. I prefer the big maps to the small ones, and the last dlc while cool in design concerned the small maps so i wasnt as into it. Yes, Battlefront has a ton more features than say....Zombies Ate My Neighbors (made by LucasArts) that game had no story beyond a generic "zombies invaded." Was the same whether played with a friend or not. So one mode, playable with one player or two. Thats it. No save feature, no options to jump to specific levels (outside of cheat codes). Great game, but there are multiple map options for Battlefront. Plus there are mission modes. It has more features than Zombies ate my neighbors. It has more features than God of War. I dont play multiplayer games that long. I play them for a bit then move on. Most of my gaming is single player orientated. Right now im playing UC4 multiplayer, but ill be over it by the end of the summer, if not earlier. There are too many games out there for me to get hung up playing anyone multiplayer title for years. Not everyone has the same gaming habits as you. Multiplayer communities frequently dwindle a few months after launch. For EA, the problem with their DLC is more that it is spaced out too much. 7 months post launch and the paid DLC has only had one content drop. Though they have added 3 big maps via free dlc (maybe more small maps i cant tell as i dont play them as often). Im sorry EA didnt make a game you like. But you didnt buy it, why are you still bitching about it.
@jay30mcr: It was fun, it was starwars, i played it for about a 130 hours. Blizzard just released overwatch for 60 bucks, it has no single player. Evolve no single player. You are so angry about this, seriously get over it. If you dont like it dont buy it. Other people obviously enjoyed it because last time I played was in April and i had no problem finding a game. Im sure the serve pops are dwindling now, but whatever. I bought Arkham Knight for 60 bucks and i didnt get 120 hours out of that game either.
@jay30mcr: Brilliant response. For someone with a wife, two kids, and a job you sure are raging over 60 bucks. They had an open beta, it was extensively reviewed, there were tons of previews and reviews, no one who comes to GS and posts on the boards should be remotely surprised by what was in that game.
@jay30mcr: I flat out dont believe you. I dont care what the reviews say, my opinion is based on me playing it. Also, if you rely on metacritic for anything other than an amalgam of review scores for press you are deluded. Amazing that you said the convo was over yet came back. I ll repeat: you are an idiot.
@jay30mcr: ....you are a angry little shit arent you. Who cares what metacritic says. I honestly dont care. The average gamer doesnt go online and write a review for metacritic. The people who do that are enthusiests. Ill name a bunch of games released in the last two years still being played. Yeah, CoD. Halo 5. Battlefield 4. GTA5. Literally hundreds of single player games. People move on from multiplayer games, only 1 or 2 ever really hang on longer than that. Its how the industry works. What do graphic downgrades have to do with anything. You are constantly confusing your rage against big gaming publishers practices and whether or not a game is good.
@sewercat007: Its not objectively a fact. At all. Plenty of people played it and enjoyed it. Just because you didnt doesnt make it a bad game. It would be fair to say reviews and opinions were mixed. But its a fact that its bad? No. The game performs well, the frame rate is solid, the game is gorgeous. It does exactly what it was advertised to do.
