@jay30mcr: Just because you are being a child doesnt mean the discussion is over. I didnt care if you responded in the first place, its an online board. You are trying to help someone? What a joke. You just want to rage with your faux indignation and think you are standing up to "big business." How are you logging on to the internet? Through wifi from Comcast, Verizon, Cablevision, or TimeWarner? Through your phone, purchased from one of 4 major wireless companies, using an OS by either Apple or Google? On a handset that is either Apple, Samsung, or some other company's product? Gamespot is owned by CBS...they are all massive companies and you think your consumer service is to warn someone off of buying a game from EA? People like you who vote to make EA the worst company in America despite the anti consumer practices and lobbying of the Telecoms, the lobbying by Airlines to keep out competition, Monsant...just in general, Cargill and a ton of other massive companies that have far more reaching anti consumer practices.

You think the game is crap. I made my own judgment about what was worth it. I knew what I was buying, the fact that you think there is only one possible informed opinion on this shows was a narrow minded child you are. Its a multiplayer only game, they have been making them for years. No story mode? Tons of games dont have it. They didnt make the game you want and your mad about it. Grow the **** up. You have the ultimate freedom, if you dont like something, you dont have to buy it. No one forces you to buy a game.

No one needs your warning. This game was reviewed by every gaming site, online and print (whatever is left of that). There are hundred of videos of it online, and video reviews. But sure the consumer coming to Gamespot and perusing the comments section on an article about a fan remake of Battlefront 3 was in need of your sage wisdom.

You re an idiot. You re parents should take away all you re electronic devices and make you try reading a book.

@jay30mcr: No. You are seriously deluded. Whether you or I like DLC and Microtransactions is irrelevant. Whether they make money is what matters to companies. So you can post online and tirade about it all you like, that means nothing. You may not like Battlefront, but it was a commercial success, it sold 13 million copies. You can say CoD has been totally killed, it took the top spot in sales last year (also the 10th for a the previous years version). Sure it sales are off from its peak, but its still selling up of 12 million a year. You re anger against corporate practices is not justified in terms of discussing a big hit. Whether the companies pump things out for money (they do, thats how companies work) doesnt mean something isnt a commercial hit just because you dont like that. I buy games that I think are worth it, I bought battlefront because Im a huge starwars fan, i liked the demo, and i knew exactly what i was getting into. Im no longer playing it now, but for three-four monts i played a few hours a day after work, it was perfect to jump online kill some time and decompress. I got my moneys worth. I dont hate on CoD like all the other idiots online. I just dont buy them because i dont enjoy them. The reason they keep making games in this model is because the overwhelming majority of people dont care. You know why? Because games are cheap. They are cheaper now than ten years ago when games first went up to 60 bucks (because of inflation), they are cheaper now than in 2001 when new games were 50 bucks (because of inflation) and they have more features. Im guessing your grew up post 2000, you have an issue with games now? Try playing them back in the 80s and 90s, new games were frequently 50 bucks or more, and plenty of them were flat out broken or shitty, and interntet review sites with streaming video were not an option since they didnt exist. I got Final Fantasy III (VI) in 1994, it cost 75 bucks, that like 115 adjusted for inlfation in todays money. How about Donkey Kong for the NES, its four levels. Thats it. it was at least 40 bucks when it came out. Games are bigger more detailed, with a ton more features, development costs have increased, but games havent jumped in price to match, because if Battlefront came out with all those map packs and cost 80 bucks people would lose their mind.

If I went into a coffee shop and they served me a cold cup of coffee in a cracked cup, they would go out of business. You may not like the current model, but its clearly working or else they wouldnt keep doing it. Fortunately there are review sites, previews, videos, and a ton of options so you dont have to buy things you dont like or feel you dont know what you re getting. No one forces you to buy them, and there are hundred, if not thousands of games to play each year. Stop whining like a spoiled brat you entitled little pissant.

@W4rl0ck: EA will have zero say in this, Disney owns the IP. They will care.

@jay30mcr: ....no. A game is a hit if it sells well. That is what defines a movie, record/album, single, tv show, etc. Thats how the term has been used. That makes it a commercial hit. Tons of games review poorly and sell well and vice versa. Beyond Good and Evil was a hit with critics...it sold poorly, and despite that trailer a few years back, i doubt we will ever get a sequel. Just because you dont like the game, doesnt mean it wasnt a hit. A company doesnt care if you are playing their game 6 years from now, that does them no good, they need money. You re definition seems to be that a game has to be "good" to be a hit. You have no idea what you are talking about.

@jay30mcr: ....typing in caps doesnt make you right. Battlefront sold like 13 million copies. That is a big big hit commercially. As a huge starwars fan, i enjoyed Battlefront. The DLC is overpriced and spaced out far too much. Indie games last longer than AAA titles? Yeah keep telling yourself that. I like games regardless of whether they are indie or not, but i played and beat firewatch....look at the sales numbers on GTAV. Or CoD, which was the top selling game last year (also the 10th). Just becasue you dont like DLC and Microtransactions means nothing in the scheme of things. If DLC and Microtransactions werent making money, no one would do them. That means more people think they are worth spending money than not, or at least enough that no one cares about the rest. Dont like something? Dont buy it, but dont act like internet rage means anything to EA or any company.

@ratchet200: Yeah, Disney is somewhat aggressive (to grossly understate the matter) about protecting its control of its IP.

@bpmike83: pretty sure it was their GOTY too. I think it was another one of those games that felt next gen (people really loved the nemesis system). I agree good game, but not GOTY.

@Sw0rDMaN: you are right. I dont know how i over looked it. Then its 5 years for each. As an aside, I was listening to a Bombcast a few months ago and Gertsman said that they had a freelancer review the game, and no one else had played it so when it came back with a 10/10 they had not one to contradict it. Apparently it got GOTY because of score, even by GOTY no one had played it on the editorial side. I never played it, but all my friends who did were dissappointed in comparing it to Chronotrigger.
