@ort9404: I got witcher after a lot of patches, but i liked that CDPR was communicating with consumers and that they were patching on a consistent basis, and they were detailed patches. As for ff15...i was gettng it no matter what. Its ff. I dont like 13, but i did beat it...and definitely pumped the time in. Now whether this game was worth 10 years of development....looks like its averaging in the 8/10, 80/1000 ranges.....wouldnt say that is worth ten years. We ll see how Last Guardian does in a few days....another ten year wait.
These people are morons. In a few more months this game will be over. I used to see people walking around all the time, i used to see gyms change hands all the time. Now without more content, and some pokemon just remaining impossible to find without resorting to online guides. No tracker, so seeing a rare pokemon pop up means nothing. Its fun, but i find myself using it less and less and less. I work full time, i dont have time to take walks more than once or twice a week at best. Gyms are impossible to take now since they are are all trained to level 10. I just dont have an hour to sit their and chip away at a gym for miniscule exp (they might as well not give any considering how low it is).
Assassins Creed would be much much better as a series. Watching the protaganist develop, kill his first target...the intrigue...that would play out much better over 12 or so episodes. Netflix proved they can do action with Daredevil and the marvel shows, they can do period pieces (Marco Polo has better production values than GoT).
Ill bet Nintendo will push them to do it on Switch. The advantage to Nintendo is pushing all First party and second parties to one platform. Id say there would be one more game on 3ds, but with sun and moon coming out, that would mean a new pokemon game in 2018, late 2018.....i just dont see that happening. If sun and moon had been out in the spring...then maybe. They released black and white 2 on ds after 3ds game out....but then that system was backwards compatible.
@seth_rogaine: yeah, if i get a ps4pro ever it will be because my ps4 dies. If i get a 4k tv...it will take something to convince me to pick up a pro. My old console plays the same games? They look worse, but not dramatically? Plus the regular ps4s are getting HDR (which is really going to be the bigger deal than 4k) i can wait. Mid gen hardware upgrades are dumb. Both pro and scorpio should have waited. and just rolled out new hardware in 2018 at 600 or 700, let the ps4 and xb1 phase out and then go with the higher specd consoles.
@runstalker: no, id rather have better visuals and a lower, but steady frame rate. Obviously id prefer 60fps and 1080p as standard, but that wasnt going to happen. The problem with the launch ps4 and xb1? They should have come out in 2012. Sure they would be dated already (was always going to happen with off the shelf components), but last gen went on just a bit too long. Ill bet anything the economic crash in 2008 delayed the console launches. Alternately, they should have launched at 100 bucks more each, with stronger components. New consoles should be 500 a pop to start and come down. Hell i would think in 2020 when we see proper new consoles, if not in 2019, they should come out at 600. Pricepoints havent moved but inflation, even as low as its been plays a role. Game likely needed to go to 70 this generation just to keep up with production costs. Id rather pay 70 bucks up front then get the inevitable over priced season pass. At least lay out what you are going to do with that season pass specifically, the new trend to saying it will have content but not explaining what that content is...beyond stupid. At least CDPR said, two dlc story modes, and was out there saying 10 and 20 hours of content each. Other than Naughty Dog, and CDPR, im hesitant on season passes. I liked Deus Ex, but i thought 15 bucks was expensive for the last dlc, and we dont even know when the next piece is coming. You launch, you get 60 days, then you need your first story dlc drop. Multiplayer is its own animal , and id say you get 30 to 45 days before you need the first multiplayer dlc. But if you dont tell people when they can expect dlc, they will eventually wander off. And while im on my rant: Naughty Dog, ill wait for story dlc solely because of how great that game has been, but where the hell is survivor mode?
R&C was a pretty damn good looking game to begin with. It was my first R&C game (never had a ps2 and never bothered on ps3), and now im just waiting for the follow up.
@davillain-: yeah.....I dont have a 4k tv so i see no reason. My gf wont let me get a new tv (not so much let as in me spending 700 bucks on a 4k tv as opposed to putting it towards a vacation or a ring of some kind wont fly, she allows a fairly large gaming commitment from myself, but im not testing it with that), so no reason for a ps4pro particularly not since i want a switch in the spring. Im thinking i can talk her into a new tv when red dead comes out (she loves that game).
@Mogan: kind of hard to judge in that vein. CoD games are on a downwards trajectory. Even if Battlefield and Titan Fall werent releasing id bet it would be on a downwards trajectory this year. I dont think Titan Fall makes a big impact. Its a sequel that no one on ps4 played the original of. But what do i know, i dont play anyt of these games. When Battlefield or CoD go back to WW2 ill try them. Until then, not my cup of tea.
