fzero and starfox or gtfocampzorThis.
Most definitely vapourware:
The last guardian: let's be honest, it's been dark for sooo long
Metal gear rising: revengance: With a name like revengance? plus it's basically a completely different game since it was last seen
Half life 3/ Half life 2 ep 3: Mainly because Valve still can't count to 3. Hopefully they'll learn how to do so with this game, but we'll see
Halo 3 was incredible online. It was basically the perfect online experience. Nothing has come close to how good Halo 3 online was. I was fairly disappointed in Reach, and felt that there basically wasn't any good maps in the game which really ruined the experience, as well as the lack of BR, and the spammy DMR. If Halo 3 had the Halo Reach matchmaking code, but all the gameplay and content of Halo 3, it'd be the best experience yet. Call of duty has pretty much always been crap, thus why I have never owned a cod game, and battlefield was fun for a little while, but nowhere near the experience that Halo 3 was.
I'm a bit suprised at the negative outcries. I for one, welcome the idea that Retro is taking a crack at Star Fox, it's been waaaay too long since a Star Fox game and we need one that'll live up to the potential that Star Fox has.
I also trust Retro will do a good job because the last time there was a huge outcry about something Retro was doing, it was Metroid Prime which turned out to be incredible. Retro has done nothing but amazing titles for Nintendo so if they feel that a Metroid/Star Fox crossover will work, then I trust them and look forward to the game.
I just really want some more Star Fox, preferrably with a solid online multiplayer, and to put the icing on the cake, I'd dream that you'd finally be able to go co-op so you could have friends playing as the other members instead of needing to constantly babysit the AI.
- Video chat via the built in camera in the controller
- Facial recognition software via the same camera
- Multitasking and the ability to run multiple Wii U apps at the same time, e.g. switch between playing the game and browsing the web.
- Voice commands (via the microphone in the controller)
- An achievements system plus the ability to send screenshots and game videos to friends on the Nintendo Network.
- Ability to watch a friend play online (live streaming)
I think most of this list is plausible.
Video chat was shown in the Wii U trailer ages ago, so no suprises here
Facial recognition is simply software and could be implemented on basically anything with a camera
Multitasking doesn't suprise me hugely, because the 3DS does this kind of thing already (Right? I don't own one, but I can remember seeing switching between web browser and game)
Voice commands is also software so no problems there
Achievements I think is plausible because I saw a rumor about them appearing with Nintendo Network, so very possible. The screenshot thing is a cool idea and taking game videos would be pretty cool, but I'll take those two with a grain of salt.
Live streaming however, is the one rumor I'm not sure about. It just doesn't sound like it'd be worth all the effort. It would be awesome if the Wii U had the tech to enable us to take a video of our successes, but I'll believe it when I see it.
Since ps3 has no gaems, and apple can't play games, it sounds like it would work.
Ultimately, I may not like sony, but I do find apple to be a more moneygrabbing company with terrible hardware and software. Apple tends to be extremely douche-y about what they put on their devices, with all their, "we tell you what you want" which makes me hate them even more. That and the exorbitant prices on their hardware, hell you though $599 was expensive? prepare for twice that with crapple selling the ps4. Either way, I think it's in everyone's best interests apart from apple, for apple to not buy playstation.
[QUOTE="Messiahbolical-"]That's chump change in the grand scheme of things. Sony is a multi-quadrillion dollar corporation.rilpas2.8 billion is chump change? :| Agreed. Can I get in on this? I don't think that all of the 2.8billion is all towards research. I'm pretty sure that it'll account for a lot of losses from ps3 sales and psvita sales, largely because they sold so badly. Sure the ps3 has gotten better, but it really didn't do very well at all.
Am I the only one who remembers the modern warfare 3 getting all the 1.0 user ratings? I don't care if bo2 sells more than Halo 4, because I'll worry about what has more to offer. If I wanted to play black ops 2, I'd just go and play any other of the rehash of duty series and get more or less the same experience.
