Gameplay is essential, story is not. Just look at Tetris or Geometry Wars and the like. A good story is NICE though and there can be no perfect game without it.

Never, I prefer single player games and consider only the quality of the single player content.

For multiplayer games I prefer to play with people in the same room. Like Bomberman etc.

This is what Pete Hines, Bethesda PR and Marketing VP, put on his blog a few minutes ago: "Apparently some folks got a bit upset by reports based on Todd's talk at QuakeCon last week. An article came out where Todd was quoted as saying we had no plans for a TES V. He did not say that. That was not a direct quote from him. That was someone's interpretation of what he said. I know, I was there. At his QuakeCon talk he was asked when TESV is coming out and Todd replied, "Don't look for a new Elder Scrolls game in the near future." He also went on to say how much the franchise means to us and that it definitely will continue. He just wasn't going to provide any timeframe on "when." This should not be news to anyone that has been paying attention. Both Todd and I have said repeatedly that, of course, we're going to do another Elder Scrolls game. The last one was enormously popular. So was the one before that. You get the idea. So do we. Todd and Bethesda Game Studios are hard at work on their next big game, and we're not ready to discuss it. As always, we prefer to have something amazing to show when we talk about it. We aren't going to confirm or deny or comment on speculation, nor are we going to give hints about anything. If you know us by now, you know we don't really do that. In regards to the MMO comment, he was asked if there was "any chance of an Elder Scrolls MMO" and he replied - in a joking fashion - by saying "I guess there's a chance." To be clear, Todd and his team do not make MMOs, for any franchise, at all. We have another division – ZeniMax Online Studios – which is lead by Matt Firor, and they are working on an MMO. They have not said anything about what game they are making. When ZeniMax Online is ready to show what they are up to, we'll let everyone know. Until then we aren't going to provide hints or speculate on what they're doing either. Hope that helps clear things up."

Thank you for posting this! To the ones saying The Elder Scrolls is overrated: Begone blasphemers!

edit: correct post quoted

Whoa.. I've never played a Final Fantasy game in my life.. But DANG.. That would be a HUGE game

lman013
Not necessarily. Lost Odyssey was 4 discs and wasn't that big (at least not the first two discs I played through). I haven't a clue what they use all that space for. 7 discs?? thats ridiculous, I'm not saying it isn't true because I don't know anything about that, but it is ridiculous none the less.

What games is everyone playing that aren't huge titles? What do you like about it!

Sacred 2. Sucks you in! I think I'll be playing it for a long time.

[QUOTE="LarsBlaabjerg"]

[QUOTE="atm0073"]Most people feel the same way you do, so don't expect many answers to be radically different from yours, TC. I don't support Games On Demand at all; apart from their superiority to physical copies of games, there are just too many outer factors that render them unable to make much of any appeal to most games, such as their price, their HDD space requirement, and their sole method of purchase (credit cards). I do, however, like the idea of Games On Demand. If most of the problems surrounding the initiated concept were to be fixed or reversed, then I might actually use and support it. But right now, it's flawed failure in my eyes.pete_merlin

You can actually use MS points to buy the games with which, at least in my country (Denmark), makes the games a lot cheaper for two reasons: MS Points can be purchased much cheaper as prepaid cards than through Live and the games are priced rediculously high here (DKR299 ~ $57).

Most of them are still more expensive than physical copies though, so I won't be using the service. I also like physical copies better.

You have to buy them using credit cars over here in the uk and im guessing in the us aswell

Try pressing Y when on the purchase screen (the price is 2400 points).

Like in Gears of War, when you have that junker with the spotlight on it, and in The Bourne Conspiracy, with the whole escape thing trough Paris. The car's mechanics are bad, the graphics are bad and the controls are just unbearably static and oversensitive. I personally hate these parts of the game. Do you like them, or should they be banned from shooters?Jerryvanasperen

Like you I hate the driving parts of GoW. But other games do it right like other people have mentioned: Half Life 2, Halo 1+2+3,

You should have all 3, so get the two cheapest ones and wait for the third one to drop in price, that would probably be Fallout 3.

If i HAD to choose and never get the third one, I would get Bioshock and Fallout 3. Mass Effect is good but not as great as the others. I story is more important to you than gameplay and value for money, get Mass Effect instead of Fallout 3.
