I hate to hate, but totally agree with you on your views about Blizzard.

If you were a fan of Diablo 1 or 2 or both be sure to check out Grim Dawn too ;)

@cardinalphoenix Likewise. The world would be boring if we all shared the same opinion!

As for no expansions for D3, I saw an interesting time-line chart that was supposedly leaked out of Blizzard. If it's true then fans of D3 can expect it to get milked.. i mean.. be gifted with.. (sorry, couldn't help myself.. you know my view on this title :P) 2 expansion packs coming in yearly increments from release date... similar to the way they are milking.. i mean building upon.. Starcraft II.

They'd be stupid not to release 1 more.. the game desperately needs it. How many times are people willing to play through those same 3.5 acts? The fact that people are willing to spend real money on items just boggles my mind even more!

Can't be said any better. If anything this sort of behavior encourages piracy. Just take a look at all the people who legitimately purchased ubisoft's online DRM plagued games and struggled to play there games, yet all the pirates had no problem with their cracked versions. Many legit customers who wanted to play their game, rather than waiting for ubisoft to get their act together, had to resort to cracked copies in order to play the game they bought!

Daaah??

@Kronn It's a game. Game's aren't meant to be taken so seriously. Smart people spend money wisely, you know.. like on necessities and tangibles. Therefore spending money on virtual bling for your character is not smart. Therefore you have no right to tell people what to do.

I see your point, but common.. it's virtual items. How stupid does a person have to be to spend money on something that isn't even real. You're literally paying for a few bits of code which Blizzard's loot generator of a game randomly throws out. Blizzard's rigged the system.. and dumb asses are feeding it.

@Ladiesman17 I would have preferred a classic 2D sprite engine with gorgeously detailed hand-drawn textures and sprites, but win some lose some.

Baldur's Gate meets Fallout with a super easy game editor made by the same guys that made Divine Divinity... it's like a defibrillator to the heart of the CRPG genre.... Awesome!

@cardinalphoenix Look I honestly hope D3 gets its issues sorted and people who still have it get the most out of it. Knowing Blizzard, they will probably support it for a long time. But they lost a lot of loyal long time customers in exchange for new ones. If Blizzard treat their fans that way I have no interest in the games they make. It just goes to show they value their wallets before they do their customers.. and that always leads to bad and unethical business.

@cardinalphoenix Changing a game to suit more casual players is like getting the game of Chess, and making all of the pieces pawns. This way there are no tricky moves to learn, less strategy, anyone can pick up and play it. But tell me, and this is coming from someone who is crap at chess, how degrading to Chess would it be to do such a thing?

I'd say the rune skill system Blizzard came up with is good. They did well. Though it shouldn't have been used on D3. They should have made some sort of Blizzard all stars online PVP game and used it on that. The Diablo series, as more accessable as it is over games such as Baldur's Gate or Fallout in the RPG genre, it is still an [a]RPG. And if you're not a fan of the genre, you shouldn't be playing that game. No one has the right to come into your house and re-arrange the furniture, though if it's happening to someone else's house, that makes it ok?
