Yes, and so is everyone else. The planet would not work if every species was not inherently selfish. It could be argued that self-sacrifice to protect others is itself selfish (because the martyr is sacrificing themselves for their cause/their children/their species/etc.).
Listen to the expert, Gordon Gekko:
"The point is, ladies and gentleman, that 'greed' -- for lack of a better word -- is good. Greed is right. Greed works. Greed clarifies, cuts through, and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit. Greed, in all of its forms -- greed for life, for money, for love, knowledge -- has marked the upward surge of mankind. And greed -- you mark my words -- will not only save Teldar Paper, but that other malfunctioning corporation called the USA."
The Wall Street Journal once published an article arguing that selfishness and greed were more productive than kindness and generosity. Their argument was to accumulate as much wealth as possible, then set up a charitable foundation upon death which distributes funds to worthy causes.
What Iran is trying to say is, yeah we have your soldiers, but your not going to do anything about it are you? look world, they are politically paralyzed! Everyone around the world, start acting up! The west is weak!KrayzieJThis actually makes some sense. Look at North Korea. During a time when it was heavily sanctioned and focus was on the Middle East, they conducted nuclear testing and brought the words attention the themselves. As a result, they received a significant aid package in exchange for discontinuing their nuclear ambitions. All they had to do was apologize. The question is, what the heck does Iran really want?
it looks like theres going to be a peaceful resolve after allncderekIs there? It looks like Britain wants a peaceful resolution, but 200 students throwing rocks at the British embassy does not bode well.
[QUOTE="Bozanimal"]You could just as easily replace "Iran" with "United States" in that sentence.[QUOTE="ncderek"]...Iran needs to just relax and maitain some peace rather than taking this over the top and refusing mistakes.NWA_31
Seriously though, too often we lump countries together as if everyone living there agrees with the decisions of their leaders. That is like saying everyone in the US agrees with its leaders. Just because President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is off his rocker does not mean the rest of the Iranian people agree with him. Many Iranians are highly progressive and want to work together socially and economically in peace with the rest of the world. Holding them back is a corrupt political system bogged down by the weight of an ultra-conservative church system that is highly interwoven in their government.
The allies made a mistake several weeks ago by antagonizing the Iranian government, and the Iranian government has escalated the situation by capturing British troops. US and British troops are already stretched thin between Iraq, Afghanistan and other worldwide defense liabilities. Sending more carriers is not going to help matters. I'm out of ideas on what might be done.
I agree with ncderek on one thing: everyone needs to relax.
Ive seen enough Iranians parading down the streets with a burning American flag to know its not just their leader
Seeing a few extremists burning U.S. flags does not give anyone the right to condemn an entire country. Take a good look at our own citizens:

Well, it took me awhile, but the word that gave me trouble was "e.l.s.e.'.s.", as in, "That camera bag is someone e.l.s.e.'.s."
Thanks!
Do you have any images or links copied and pasted from another place?LTomlinson21Thank you, but I stripped out the images and links and still got the error! Anything else? Maybe I'll just go paragraph by paragraph and see what happens...
Does anyone know if there is there any way to move the second post (with the tier 2 games on it) up within the thread to be adjacent to the top list?
I am trying to make a blog entry and cannot figure out what is not being accepted. I receive the following error:
Your HTML is not well-formed - the entity you tried to use is not accepted.
Any thoughts on how to find the culprit? I did not use c.l.a.s.s. or s.t.y.l.e. in the entry I'm trying to submit...
