I've been entertaining this idea using a transducer like Aura's Bass Shaker. I use headphones primarily not to disturb my wife watching television in the next room so a regular sub wouldn't cut it. I just never found an amp setup I liked for the Bass Shaker. Bass Shakers are awesome, by the way. Boz

But a 2.1 setup at $200 is not going to get you real bass. It is gonna give you boosted frequencies around 60hz.

You won't get the thump of a dedicated 12" DVC sub with a thousand watt RMS amp, but you will get low-range extension that Monitors (2.0) simply cannot reproduce, as well as a little bump. Like many things in the audio world it comes down to personal preference- and budget! Happy gaming, Boz

It sounds like you just want a decent pair of earbuds that won't fall out. Consider the Adidas Sennheiser PMX 680 or 680i (the latter with iPod controls. Great earbuds and they won't fall out. If that's too much, alternatively you could try the Philips Actionfit headphones. I cannot vouch for their quality, but they are well-rated and much less expensive. Good luck, Boz

Over the years I've come to appreciate 2.1 over a superior quality 2.0 set for gaming. If it's for music, I'd take the 2.0, but for gaming I want that lower-range extension for gunfire, bombs, the rumble of an oncoming army, etc. NVIDIATI's setup is a good one. Just be sure that you have a 3.5mm male to male cable to connect your PC to the Dayton amp if one is not already included. Alternatively, you might consider the Klipsch Promedia 2.1 speakers. They're not quite as good as that Dayton setup, but they'll take up less space and it'll be a bit easier to set up, since all the instructions are included with the package. Both setups are great, though I'd personally go with NVIDIATI's if I had space. Happy gaming, Boz

Greetings,

This post was written entirely in HTML. It includes a link to an awesome blog. It is also amazingly italicized, bodaciously bold, and understatedly underlined. It even includes pictures aligned in the center of the column:

  • I've also included...
  • an unordered list.
  1. And order list
  2. is probably also in order

Now, let's try the horizontal rule:

There! Most all of what I need is accounted for, assuming this all posts correctly.

Happy gaming,

This deal has expired; grats if you got in!

I don't normally post sales, but Slickdeals has a post regarding the AH-D2000 headphones on sale for about $200. These are honestly some of the best headphones available at their retail price, but at $200 they are a steal (they retail for $300 on Amazon). Need a reputable review? Head-Fi

I wrote an extensive guide to building a PC back when I did my own in 2007 with video. Some of it might be useful; you're welcome to borrow the video code if you want to use any of it. The parts in my build are, I believe, a bit more dated than your own, though it's not like PC building is any different today than it was at the time, really.
Anyway, was looking through the sticky for a friend that's building his own PC now and though someone else might benefit from the work I'd done back in the day.

With the Open Beta starting today, I finally finished my own comments regarding the Tera Closed Beta Gamespot held a couple weeks ago:
                    TERA Closed Beta Hands-On
I was lucky enough to have time to both visit PAX East and try Tera's Closed Beta at home earlier this month as part of Gamespot's recent promotion. I've been following TERA for quite some time, and was impressed with how polished the game was when I visited En Masse Entertainment's booth at PAX East. Unfortunately, when I got home and finally logged in, my experience did not reflect my impression from the exposition.
In Tera, you play a recruit of The Valkyon Federation, a relatively peaceful coalition of races under a militaristic government. At the outset you are sent to a newly-discovered island to both train and assist the Federation. All races and classes start on this island, and this is where the story begins to unfold through a primary chain of quests that you follow throughout the game. There are many, many sub- and side-quests, but there is one gigantic story arc that unfolds as your character strives to cap its level.
To this extent, Tera bills itself as lore-driven, but in reality the low-priority of the story is evidenced throughout the game: from the weak character fly-in introduction, to the placement of "Lore" within the tera.enmasse.com game site at the bottom of its respective submenu. The premise is interesting enough, but the story boils down to Hulk-like simplicity, "Enemies invading, defend, smash!"

For linking, images, bold and italic, use the bbcode. For linebreak just hit enter, just avoid hitting space before enter. horgen123
I can't seem to get line breaks to work. In their place I've been using empty "list" code to put in paragraphs. I have not been able to figure out a way to align text and images to the center, yet. Also, Horizontal Rule seems to be broken, as well.

                                Center is not working

[QUOTE="JodyR"]They have been doing more tests today and trying to change stuff, but I can no longer post a paragraph break in any posts now. It turns out to a wall of text. I've let them know about this problem. They're gone for the day so we'll see if they can fix more issues tomorrow. Thanks again for everyone's patience.Dracula68
Just gonna quote again so everybody see's this.

Gah: But that was on Wednesday, and now it's Friday! And staff on are PST, which means it won't get fixed - if at all - until I'm practically in bed! I've got a blog on TERA, whose open-beta starts today, that I wanted to post, but the HTML is pretty extensive. I'll try to convert to BBCode, but good Lord- stop breaking things! No more office renovations, Gamespot! Happy gaming, Boz
