What type of PSU are you using? I'd hate for you to upgrade only to find your PC rebooting, shutting down, or otherwise because your PSU was insufficient for that fancy new card. ;)
Yeah, I would usually buy the G35 new cause I have heard they're overpriced, it's just I found then used on eBay for $50. The HD555's are $58 on eBay, how much would a good mic be? Could you recommend one?sunnyleo7777
A Zalman clip-on mic - which is all you need - is about $10 on Amazon. You will be much happier with a pair of real headphones like the HD555's in the long run, especially since you can use them for listening outside of gaming. :) Enjoy, Boz
I've had this issue multiple times at one point or another. Typically a program is running in the background and an update will become available, or as part of its normal process it will do some swapping to become "active" briefly in order to run whatever process it has slated. You'll have to do some hunting in your system tray and task manager to try to figure it out.
That's how I fix my minimizing issues, anyway! Good luck.
Where are you seeing screens like that? I've never seen something as intrusive as that from FB, I've only see the tiny like this page buttons. It looks like you're watching a video but at the same time it looks like you're on the main page for the game. Is the picture edited? I'm very confused.fabz_95
This picture is not edited. It is a straight window screenshot (Alt + Screenshot). This is how the page appeared, though I have not been able to repeat the issue since the original date (though I was able to repeat it that day).
Because it appears the page was an error and not a redesign, this thread can be locked.
Bad memory can be causing similar issues so, before you swap the PSU, run MemTest+ and make sure you don't have a bad stick of RAM. If your memory is fine, odds are you need a new PSU.
I wanted to participate in the Portal Kombat game night but my copy still has not shipped. Perhaps the game nights should wait until more people are able to get the games.waitaseck
The number one reason I do not participate is because I do not have a system that supports whatever the latest Game Night is promoting.
After that, though, it seems game nights have shifted from popular existing releases to whatever is the newest blockbuster title. I would participate if these were more established games, or if these games had been out at least a month before having game night. At the very least I need some time to buy the game before game night and play it a bit to figure out how to log in, which means I need a couple weeks.
I understand the desire to tie social media sites together in the hopes of drawing audiences from other regions of the internet, but it is now coming at the cost of Gaemspot's site utility. I would like to see Facebook plugins removed from page bodies and placed in the borders of the pages to prevent intrusion into game coverage and content. Not everyone is a Facebook user. I've been using the site a long time, but have never found anything quite this annoying; no, not even the cIass and styIe issues. Consider the following:
I'll assume this comment was directed at me, in which case the answer is no; I was an early adopter. Every time I swapped memory, my motherboard, or added hard drives I had to reactivate.
That said, I do love Windows 7; it's by far the best OS since 2000.
What size are you looking for and how close are you going to be sitting?

Does this matter if he's using it as a monitor? I'd think you wouldn't want to go with anything less than 1080p, regardless, and to use an LCD to prevent burn-in. I don't disagree, just wanting to get your thought process, ChubbyGuy40. I'm running my 34" HD CRT at 720p (anything higher-rez and it's blurry), but web pages get smooshed and navigation can be a bit tough. Movies are awesome, though.
yes, windows 7 i've used the same key to reformat/reinstall three times on the same computer thus far, no problems yet. and i recall for office (may have the same rules as windows, not sure) you could use the same key 5 time before they'd start e-mailing u to clarify how many computers you have.

I've had to call in to activate my legal Windows 7 Retail copy since my first install. I've reinstalled twice and had to "reactivate" about three times due to hardware changes, and every time gone through the mennu to activate. It takes a little extra time, but I did manage to get it working each time.
Not a huge fan of what basically amounts to PITA DRM.
