but quality would be affected sky high

[QUOTE="BroweChisox"]Yes, any cable that is the same form will do the trick. You can actually use a composite video cable to send digital coaxial audio as well. It is just copper wire inside anyway.wantedman123

Quality would not be affected at all as long as it is a well made wire to start with.

No, its not... It's this one: http://samsung.com/Products/TV/LCDTV/LNS4051DXXAA.asp

Awful overscan on that tv, I advice people to stay as far away as possible until that gets cleared up. Not to mention the green decoder settings as well.

Is this a good monitor to use for the PS3? This is a link to the specs on it. Gateway Monitor Specs

PS2Fan4Life30
It will work, I am not sure on Gateway's home theater performance. Obviously it will perform much worse than a good LCD HDTV.

Send either HDMI to your receiver or optical audio to your receiver.

Actually, it does support VGA. can i still play it on this monitor?halo1399
VGA == Component, and both are capable of passing HD resolutions. Obviously, you will not get anywhere near optimal sound without using an HDMI cable though.

[QUOTE="speedyvratsa"][QUOTE="speedyvratsa"]I would like to ask you something about moniters. For now I cannot afford to buy a good HDTV,and having a cheap one is useless for me cosidering the ps3'picture quality. What's more,my current moniter is very old(1997,crt),so I'm planning to buy a new one and use it to play on the ps3.What would you recommend me to buy, what do you think will be the best for playing on the ps 3 and using it with a pc(I'm planning to spend no more than 400$ on this). Thanks in advance.I forgot to mension-I'm from Europe

Any ideas?

Your question confuses me. You say you dont want to buy and HDTV, but you have a budget of $400. This makes me think that you want to buy another SDTV which would do you no good since your 97 set probably performs fine for what it is. Put the 400 into an investment and maybe you can earn some money on your investment. I recommend $1000 for a HDCRT, $1500 for a 32" LCD, and $2000 for a good DLP/SXRD

Those pictures are taken from IGN from a LONG time ago when they were trying to show the improvements in the launch Madden in SD/HD. This OP is basically worthless. Why lie about something so stupid as pictures of a two year old game?
