Quality would not be affected at all as long as it is a well made wire to start with.but quality would be affected sky high
[QUOTE="BroweChisox"]Yes, any cable that is the same form will do the trick. You can actually use a composite video cable to send digital coaxial audio as well. It is just copper wire inside anyway.wantedman123
[QUOTE="Hershey07"]Does that TV happen to be this one?No, its not... It's this one: http://samsung.com/Products/TV/LCDTV/LNS4051DXXAA.asp Awful overscan on that tv, I advice people to stay as far away as possible until that gets cleared up. Not to mention the green decoder settings as well.

Is this a good monitor to use for the PS3? This is a link to the specs on it. Gateway Monitor SpecsIt will work, I am not sure on Gateway's home theater performance. Obviously it will perform much worse than a good LCD HDTV.

Actually, it does support VGA. can i still play it on this monitor?halo1399VGA == Component, and both are capable of passing HD resolutions. Obviously, you will not get anywhere near optimal sound without using an HDMI cable though.

Any ideas? Your question confuses me. You say you dont want to buy and HDTV, but you have a budget of $400. This makes me think that you want to buy another SDTV which would do you no good since your 97 set probably performs fine for what it is. Put the 400 into an investment and maybe you can earn some money on your investment. I recommend $1000 for a HDCRT, $1500 for a 32" LCD, and $2000 for a good DLP/SXRD
