[QUOTE="BroweChisox"][QUOTE="gamer2damax"]Can anyone tell me what resolution is 1280 X 1024 @ 60Hz is????gamer2damax
A computer resolution obviously... what else do you want it to be? If you want to watch actual HD, get an HDTV.

Oh, well my PC is connected to my HDTV through VGA and since my HDTV only supports up to 1080i im gonna get an HDMI to DVI converter so i can have digital video instead of component's analog video which i heard can loose signal or something like that

Thats not true

1280x800 is not equal to either 720p or 1080i.

[QUOTE="Jackal2222"]plasma vs LCD whats better yes ive read teh pros cons but i want actual feed back from people who have em.Ryeferd

I have an LCD. I cant recommend plasmas for gaming due to burn in.

Burn-in is a non-issue for plasmas in this and the past generation of displays. The entire topic is overblown by uninformed consumers. There is zero need to worry about burn-in, especially after the first 100 hours of the sets life.

Plasma will give a straight up better image, they do give off a lot of heat if that is a concern.

Trusting manufacturer stated contrast ratios along with other specs is foolish. The only way to actually know these values is to go and test them, which most consumers can not do. The manufacturer can measure the contrast ratio is so many ways and under a lot of different conditions to make the set more appealing. For example, I have tested sets with quoted 1500:1 contrast ratios to measure around 280:1 in actual real life situations.

Of the 26" sets I have tested, the XBR was by far the best performer. But since that seems to be outside your budget, I would recommend either Sony's new KDL-26S2010, or Sharp's LC-26D40U. Both are stellar sets, the Sony having slightly higher performance.

[QUOTE="General_Lion"]Is Samsung tv's good for ps3 gaming?Defect3d

yes. when it comes to LCDs, samsung is second only to Sony. samsungs best LCDs are actually better than some of Sonys LCDs

In general, the LNS 41/51 series is pathetic in comparison to comparably priced alternatives. To get the BEST LCD available right now, Sony and Sharp both offer great options, while Sammy is a very, very far third place.

i honestly dont know how you came to that conclusion. Ive sat and watched a sony(xbr) 26" nxt to a samsung(ln51) 26" fora good 10/15mins. and it was hard to tell which was better at times. Now idont know jack about how good the sharp ones are but the sammys(LNS51) have generally had great reviews on teh net too. For something around teh same price i think samsun comes out on top tbh(for 26" LCD's), but i will look into some other ones now. You cant put sony on the same level cos they are just so much more.

Besides the fact that you can not seem to type very coherently, you make some poor points. Your pure analysis means very little if you are not a viewer looking for the faults that many budget sets have. The problem with the LNS series is that the DNie processing ruins every type of image possible. It crushes detail in whites, while giving a muddy look to blacks. The color decoding is thrown off by the fact that the backlight is adjusted to how bright the entire scene is. The overall look is a "vivid" image to ignorant viewers, but a travesty to anyone desiring a display capable of showing what the director/producer desired. I was referring to the KDL-XXS2000 series, instead of the XBR. Obviously the XBR series is an improvement, and many consumers find the increased price to be worth it (I for one, have two installed in the guest bedrooms). Other consumers do not find room in their budget to support the higher end set. Either way, the LNS series is a monstrosity of a set, and makes a true tv fan cringe.
