According to my sources, it was only reviewed by Nintendo Power thus far, which it received a 50% on. I wouldn't bank any money on it.

I believe the only one you start as a kid in is DQ5. All of the rest, you're ~18 at the beginning.

I have no ideo how true it is, but they made halo for the DS, but cancelled it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=89cAOCSZMCMHyrr

Not quite true. That was an ultra-heavy mod of... a goldeneye game for the DS, I think

I think it's much too premature to start calling this game a 10, especially in Gamespot's book. I mean, it looks to be really good, a must-buy for the already Guitar Hero fans, but that's all. Rock Band's done most of what's new in this game, and beyond that, it's mostly more of the same. I mean, I remember when people cried foul about the Twilight Princess score, getting a little less than 9, when it was most definitely a must-buy for all Zelda fans. Face it, even if it's good enough to pick up on day one, measuring a game by how far it is from 10 doesn't really do too much good.

That being said, someone around my house'll probably pick this up shortly after it launches, probably my girlfriend buying it for her 360. I'm sure it'll be wonderful.

DQIV is excellent. I've played through the NES version, and I wanted to get the PSX version when I saw the ad in the back of the manual for DWVII, but it was canceled. The extra chapter, easier balance, DWVII graphics, etc... I mean, all of it brings a classic pinnacle of NES RPGs into modern day with all of the relevance intact.

....by the way, yes, I want to get this game!

I wanted to get this game, like, a decade ago... when they put a friggin' ad in the back of the manual for my copy of DWVII! Of course, things fell through, but at long last, they're releasing the enhanced DQIV over here, and yep, I want it! And to be more precise, the overall average of scores for this game is currently at 78.5%, according to http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/942422.asp. But... don't let the scores fool you. It's a timeless classic, and they rebalanced EXP and gold drops to fit a more modern crowd, swo it kind of nullifies the argument that it's too much of a grindfest.

Why would they use that mock-up image on their site? That was a bad joke from, like, at least 6 months ago. The top screen is obviously ripped from the arcade Mario Kart game, and the map doesn't even match it! That mock-up was created as a joke to see how many ignorant people they could fool, so for IGN to use it to make some "story" that isn't even halfway thought out, I'm wondering how many people here might be fooled...

I, too, am hoping that they shape up the environments a little bit, but they have plenty of time to add some extra touchups before the game's release. What's great about The Conduit is that it's likely to be the first above-par FPS on the Wii that's not multiplatform, excluding MP3 because that counts more as a FPAdventure. Plus, plenty of the Wii crowd are fairly unintiated to the FPS genre, as their haven't been quite as many on Nintendo consoles in the past as say, Microsoft, which seems a bit oversaturated. But Wii controls should be the boost that really helps both the genre and the Wii for hardcore gamers on the whole.
