ok, I'm glad to see the HD 2900XT out but this war between NVidia and ATI fans has to stop. Who the hell cares who is the best or who has the better drivers? As long as you are happy with what ever you purchase is all that matters. I prefer ATI at times but give credit where credit is due and that was to NVidia for the 8800. Who cares if you waited this long for a card that may not perferm to your expectations. All I can say is wait till DX10 is finally utizilized and then see what is the best choice for you.

I'd say more than a year, possibly two to three. Yes Crysis will help but there will be a need for more titles to go DX10. Plus, Crysis allows DX9 so it doesn't create that big of a need for DX10.

On your graphics card and motherboard manufacturers site should be the drivers you seek. In a matter of fact, they should be the latest drivers for your parts.

yes it will workRandom__Guy

I wouldn't say yes so easily. In most cases, it will clock itself down to work in the motherboard but sometimes it can also cause errors. If you want to be safe, look for RAM that is the speed specified on your motherboard. If you can't then try your luck and hope it works fine. Usually does but again, it can cause errors.

[QUOTE="Galantina"][QUOTE="Samerzz"][QUOTE="Galantina"]

Sorry if this doesnt go here but this and the 360 forums are the only places i can think this could go.

Could someone who uses a windows ICS connection to access xbox live help me out.

I am one of those people who has this connection, and i dont mind having to switch on my pc whenever i want to access live but i do have a problem with having to switch off my firewall, if i do not switch my firewall off then xbox live fails on the DNS test but works a treat when my firewall is off.

Now ive read that my firewall doesnt accept ICS connections (im using comodo firewall) and so i tried using zonealarm and i found that this firewall also doesnt support ICS connections.

I am not comfortable completely switching off my firewall to use xbox live so i was just wondering you people with ICS connections to live what firewall do you use that allows you to keep it on?

thanks.

CYSYKO

why do you care so much if your firewall is on or not?

well because i dont want people hacking into my computer and taking all my details maybe?

i can assure you the possibility of that is not likely at all. they cant just "hack" into your PC and start ganking all your stuff. while it is possible theres a lot of variables your probably not aware of. you have to go through a NAT server to get out into the internet, and that changes your private ip address into a public one. so even if he did find any of the packets you were sending out into the internet, he would only see your public IP, which is useless. the hacker would hae to go through a LOT of trouble and hackers dont like that.

Actually, the private IP is still encapsulated within the packet with the Public IP so that it can create two way communication. It is the same concept in tunneling.

Although this is true, most crackers (Hacker is a person who breaks security to find a flaw and alert the person. Cracker does damage.) don't hit PCs just for the heck of it. Most either find a server, hit it with a brute force password guesser or Denial of Service attack. If they do target one PC, they are usually a script kiddie thinking that they are a cracker because they downloaded a program that anyone can use.

Also, most people do get hit my password guessers all of the time but they don't realize it do to the fact that they don't check their system logs.

Well, for the past 4 or so years, I have been interested in the construction of computers. (Also networking, servers, etc) I found that when I build a computer for myself and other people it has a more rewarding feeling. Just like doing good in school, you can say "I did that all by myself" and feel proud. But in saying that, I do believe that most people, including gamers, should by prebuilt machines. First of all, they don't screw it up in the middle of putting it together. Second, they don't have to configure/tweak it before being able to play a game or surf the net. Plus, a lot of people don't have the knowledge and shouldn't be messing around with stuff that they do not understand inside and out. I mean heck, would you want to stick your hands inside a T.V. if you didn't have an idea of it's workings?

So Prebuilts = Most users. DIY = Myself and other people who share the same interests.

Also, don't come on this board thinking that you are a pro for building your machine. Just because you stuck a few wires together and place a card into a slot doesn't make you an expert on computer systems.

NDAs are in effect. So we have to wait until they all start releasing information before we see some real reviews.
