i like nvidia because they are the veterans of GPU makers where as ATI/AMD is still new. So i feel better with nvidia.

second reason is that ATI always gets their asses kicked by nvidia(except for the 9800 era)

TheDarthvader

I wouldn't call ATI new, I mean they have been around since the 80's.

I prefer ATI before the purchase by AMD due to the fact that they are Canadian (Got to have some canadian pride) and that I have always found quality in their products.

Nvidia on the other hand have also treated me well over the years but I prefer ATI as with my experience with Nvidia, I tend to have more technical issues with their products. (Not just my problems, only really had one, but friends/family/colleges problems that I had to solve.) Plus, they ramp up the price of a product that shouldn't be so expensive.

[QUOTE="Deinonych"]Your PSU is the most important component in your system. That's why everyone is commenting on it.Arch_Demonz

WRONG.. its all about the mouse pad

You are so wrong. The most important part is the desk. I mean what are you going to lay that mouse pad on?

Why the hell is everyone fighting? Just because you have never heard of the brand name of the PSU doesn't mean it isn't a good PSU. I mean hell, it may be in a different country or maybe it is their first attempt at coming into the PSU market and happened to get it right. If you really want to learn about the PSU, google it or check out your favorite tech sites to see if there is anything on it. Plus, the post above me shows a review of the product and it seems to be a favourable review.

Use it as a file server if you need one. I personally have a file server at home for my "downloads" and well I enjoy having the free space on my main machines and the fact that I can access the files anytime.

I am one of these people who tend to save their old computer parts. So I have several video cards just laying around. Good thing too, I was watching a video on my computer one night, power surged (I know, forget my surge protector) and boom! No more video card. So it was nice to have one to back me up in that situation.

[QUOTE="BounceDK"]The 8800GTS. Random FPS drops, no 2d/3d mode, really bad drivers etc.9mmSpliff

You are honestly the first person Ive read about that does not like their 8800GT, there are no random FPS drops, reviews from all over the world love this card, it's your own system's problem.

I think he's joking.

Hes not, it does drop in games. But its a brand new card too, yes months old, but ylou have to let nVidia and M$ catch up to eachother. I like how people expect things to come with no problems. I think thats a fantasy world they live in. I get random drops in CSS, but thats the only game for me, plus models look grey from super far away.

Well, when you pay the money you tend to expect no errors coming with the product. Just like when buying a game, you want it to be able to run at least.

yep, that is all the FX5200 was good for. My worst purchase was when I didn't know much about video cards and picked up a MX440 when it was new.....never again...

I advise you to wait until DX10 arrives on laptops.jachichorro

Which wouldn't be worth it anyways, due to the fact that the graphics chipset in laptops are worse than there card equivalent. Plus, no one knows when DX10 laptops will be released, so waiting would mean he wouldn't have a laptop for a while. Hell, there isn't even any DX10 games out there so why would he want to wait if he could use a laptop right now?

A wireless connection can certainly limit your bandwidth. You can test this by directly connecting your PC to the modem.Gog

The only bandwidth that would vary between wireless and wired is on  the LAN. The speeds are too high compared to the WAN connection to affect it.
