The only legitemate answer is if you don't like platformers, puzzle games or games that let you have alot of control over your own experience even then thats a very small segment of the gaming population. I see alot of people saying it doesn't look anything special or that it looks boring well they either don't know enough about the game or are just straight up jealous. LBP looks to take a very simple idea of physics based platforming with a high element of puzzle solving to navigate the levels hazards and throw a limitless amount of replay value with the abilityto create your own levels. On top of that you get to share your levels with other people online with unlockable unique rewards for people beating your level if you choose, then throw in the fact you can play the levels with up to four people through the internet or through the console itself and create levels that require you to beat them co-operatively. It has huge potential because its simple enough with a very cutesy but attractive look to draw in casuals and yet has the ability to challenge hardcore gamers with the customizable level's and their varying difficulty depending on user's creativity plus the huge amount of replay value.

While there are too many games coming out next year to hype it GOTY. I definately think if it delivers it will definately be in the running. Can you honestly say you aren't at least interested to see if this game delivers on its promises.

[QUOTE="CHRIS_K_UK"][QUOTE="Superstrokey"]

[QUOTE="TerroRizing"]This myth needs debunked, JRPGs not named Final Fantasy dont sell well outside japan. For example Chrono Trigger has sold more than 2.36 million copies in Japan and 290,000 abroad, think im wrong? Name one JRPG that has sold well in north america thats not a final fantasy game. Also, stop saying that 360 fans buy less JRPGs than sony fans (refering to north america). Really its a regional thing, just like FPS dont sell well in japan.Superstrokey

Are you sure about those numbers? Id like a source on that cause i cant beleive it sold so few games. Im not calling you a liar its just amazingly low is all

It says it on the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chrono_Trigger obviously not a reliable source cause anyone can edit it I think..

Thats really tragic that the numbers were so low... was such a damn good game. I loved it and got all my guys to lvl 99 with teh best of everything. Saw every ending and beat every baddy, including the hardest lavos (if i rememeber right you could solo it with chrono)

yup you could go solo with chrono when marle got warped back at the begging of the game from the telepad in Leene square you go to the oppposite pad and instead of warping you back it warps you ahead to duke it out with lavos. I don't remember if I beat the game with just chrono I remember attempting it but don't remember if I beat it, I'm pretty sure I did though I did pretty much everything you could in that game I still play it from time to time.

Anyway I'm pretty sure thexenosaga series sold pretty well here or at least thefirst one did because it became a greatest hitas did SO 3 and KH. I also think Suikoden 3 sold really well here but I haven't confirmed the numbers for any of those just going on memory of when they were released if people were talking about them and if the initial sales werre strong.

Oh please we all know that if we compare the ps3 first year linup to the 360 first year it slaughters it GS scores are harder on all games but the ps3 library has been conisitantly underrated compared to the vast majority of gaming new sites(as has the wii with the exception of mario galaxy and warioware). Gs reviews systems is across the board a joke all consistancy has been thrown out the window since they eliminated the category system now we have no idea how they arrived at that score sure you can read the review but 90% of the reviews this year do not match up with thescore they gave. With that being said the scores have showed a very casual trend FPS, sports and action games tended to get the highest ratings this year and games like mass effect and ratchet were underated severly. GS has been going downhill since greg kasavin left and with the firing of Jeff their reliability has really been thrown into question.

I still come here cause of the forums and coverage of games are still very good but their reviews are seriously becoming a joke.

If you Sony fanboys really wanted to hurt this site, you'll leave and never come back, under any circumstance.

By continuing to stay here, you validate their so-called "bias".

Actually I don't think they are biased for or against a system but I do think their reviewing staff and reviewing systems has extremely flawed and that unfortunately they tend to rate certain genres higher because of their casual appeal. the 360 is really being pushed at the casual audience and its library reflects that so thats why to some people it appears to be a bias towards 360 when it really is just the whole site is going for a certain demographic and their reviews are showing this. I still think GS is one of the better sites around but in my opinion its credibility has been hurt alot and this is coming froma guy who has been coming to this site since 1998 and been coming to the forums since 2001. I remember when you used to go by JJ Cambell and you have always been a xbox supporter much like I am a sony support we each prefer our respective systems but I would not classify either one of us as fanboy(or girl in your case) although we do enjoy rubbing things in other fanboys faces when they get out of hand. I would hope that if you have seen my posting history I actually very rarely bash other system but I do however argue pro sony and that often gets me labeled asa sony fanboy which is fine with me I don't really care but I just want to say I do play and enjoy the other system I mean you can't call yourself a gamerifyou don't enjoy Halo or Mario game.

To put it bluntly over the last year GS has lost some of its credibility but the fact I still come here shows I still enjoy this site more than any other gameing site and that someone like youself who has been coming here for a few years cannot say that GS hasn't done some things in the past year that make you scratch your head. The change in the review system was for the worst I don't know how you can deny that part.

Goodness cows get over it, PS3 was an absolute joke this year and didn't have any games worthy of AAA status. Gamespot sees this reality, but being Sony tools you are, you are unable to accept the games you rave about as in fact being mediocre. Gamespot is not biased. People who claim they are just clutch for straws because they can't admit their own system (aka PS3) was absolute garbage.TheMysticHorse

[QUOTE="Citan_Uzuki"][QUOTE="cobrax75"][QUOTE="SpaceMatt"][QUOTE="whoody12"][QUOTE="jhcho2"][QUOTE="whoody12"]

not fake CoD4 realism with flashy lights etc, but real realism with things like 1 shot 1 kill and huge openended maps ( what basicly can only be done on the PC)

for example

- Joint Operations

- Forgotten Hope 2 mod for Battlefield2

- Armed Assault

cobrax75

you know, a realistic shooter is one where you reload your weapon, and the remaining ammo in your magazine doesn't jsut magically accumulate up into your total ammo count. I have yet to see a shooter which takes realism that far. Hence, no game is realistic enough for me yet. Your standard of realism is but a fraction of mine.

I don't exactly know what you mean but Red Orchestra takes reloading kinda realistic

Rainbow 6 3 had it

the old R6 games had just about everything in terms of tactical realism...but its all been removed now.

yeah thats why I haven't played a R6 game since the first if anyone here has played that remember the pre mission planning you had to equip you teams(multiple teams instead of just one like in most newer r6 games) and actually plan their path through the mission using a map and waypoint system there was nothing more satisfying then calling on you ai team using commands and have them flank a room as you came in the front door or vice versa or have it planned that one team would take the majority of the firfights while another team snuck in the back to rescue a hostage or plant a listening device on a phone. the new rainbow six games haveremoved that planning stage in exchange for a much more linear mission structure.

IMO the first one was not the best....I think Raven Shield was the high point of tactical realism in a game.

I never said it was the best butit was the first game to incorporate such tactical action in that way I am mostly a console gamer and I never really played many of the other rainbow 6 games except a few short plays at friends houses of the dumbed-down versions on consoles I believe it was the 3rd when they started making the pc game more console like but I could be wrong you probably have more experience with the series than me to know exactly when they started dumbing down the series.

Check out these images from the recent trailer/gampplay footage.

MGS4 has ingame cutscenes so the gameplay and cutscenes will look indistinguisable. MGS4 looks amazing, just look at the wall textures, shadows and Snake in general. The game will own and has another 5 months of development left, will look phenomenal at launch.

And MGS4 dosent have jaggies :|

-rightclick and view image- those jaggies you are seeing are because the image resoulution is compressed to fit in the post when viewed at a proper resolution thegame does in fact appear to be jaggie free.

Authenticity, the cars are look, feel, sound and drive like they are supposed too.EmperorSupreme

Exactly that is where the GT games separate themselves I mean GT actually takes that cars and takes the data from the actual car and impliments it into the game how it handles sounds and all that each car takes thousands of hours to model and create in game yet the Forza games come out every 2 years and the lemmings claim its more accutrate simply because it got damage modeling whereas the cars may handle well and all feel different they are not as close to their real life counterparts as GT it is impossible because they do not spend the same amount of time on each car as the GT team does I haven't played forza 2 I admit but forza didn't feel as good when racing as compare to gt4 although its features did make Forza the better game overall the GT driving still felt more realistic.

[QUOTE="Eltroz"]SDF is a joke website and even though they act like huge rabid fanboys it is a joke website. What is worse though is the cows on here act just like the writers of SDF for example look how they spew the Sony family sales thing since SDF started that. What is sad though is the website is a known joke website but the cows on here are not.blue_hazy_basic

Its a satire on how sony fanboys act. Unfortunately it mimics them so well they don't get the joke. :P

All fanboys act really bad but sony defense force is owned by a xbox fansite its purpose is to make sony fans look bad and the only people who link to it are fanboys of other systems don't confuse their fanboyish way with satire cause its not satire just fanboys being fanboys.

I love it when people make up arguments that otherpeople supposedly say then shoot down said argument its a verypopular thing foir MS fans to do. I have never evert seen anybody on this boar say its sony's right to be on top peop[le have given their opinion on why they feel sony will do better or should be doing better or that they even may win this gen but nobdy has ever and I mean EVER said that. Its a ridiculous argument and its even more reiculous you made a a post to debunk the argument that I have seen nobody make.

MS offers a better game selecting right now because it has been out a year longer the console sales are very close when you comapre the consoles at similar points in their lofespan year on year when you compare these things and the fact that sony has stronger support oustside the US and has yet to see any of its big franchises hit so far its been pretty much new ip this year for sony while the MGS, tekken, final fantasy have yet to launch while MS biggest selling game halo is already out. Combining these factors it is quite reasonable to assume that sony will pass MS at some point this gen sooner or later but it is still just a prediction which is all I have seen by people on this board nobody claimed itwas sony's right.

Nintendo has given us a console with a much different experiece at a cheaper price and are reaping the rewards of catering to the casual market while still releasing the software that will satisfy their longtime fans and hardcore gamers. Right now I cannot see nintendo being caught this gen but depending on how quick sony is able to bring the ps3 down in price and get the right software out is could possible make a late surge and make it interesting at least but as far as I amconcerned ninteno will be very hard to beat this gen and I don't even have a wii only a ps3.
