Sensible Soccer.. the immense hours I spent playing it against my brother on the old Amiga 600. Great times! Cannon Fodder is still one of the funniest games I've played. One question, how in the world did you get so many real teams and players at that time? Your own database? On a time that the majority of football games had no Portuguese teams, you had them all the way to the 2nd or 3rd Division, I remember being fascinated by it at the time.
@Zepthire95 "We noticed our new PS3 super-slim came fitted with a 7.5mm, 500GB hard drive. 7.5mm drives are typically used in slim laptops like ultrabooks, due to being thinner than standard 9.5mm drives. That said, the PS3's hard drive slot is large enough to accommodate 9.5mm drives should you wish to use one." The answer was right up there.
The F1 game I played the most was the one released for Playstation and PC from Psygnosis in 1996, I remember being amazed with the rain effect on that game.
Manuel Calavera (Manny), Glotis, Salvador Limones, Mercedes Colomar.. I've played it so long ago and I still remember this names by heart. "I am Salvador Limones, Viva la revolucion!"
And I just remembered one awesome adventure game I think I've never finished. (might try to pick it up on SCUMM emulator) Anyone here remembers or played Sanitarium?
Great as always Danny! My favorite adventure game would be impossible to be cut out, the simply amazing and charismatic Grim Fandango. I don't even know how people didn't assault stores just to get a copy let alone being a commercial failure. From the incredibly well designed characters to the great story, there's a great 'noir' feel and great sense of humor not to mention clever and logical puzzles, this is one of my favorite games in the world, not just in the adventure genre.
My main problem with adventure games was the majority of them resorting to trial and error mechanics, (not so logical puzzles) a lot of the time you didn't know what to do, so you basically just spammed whatever was interactive in the scenery with your own inventory items, lack of direction would lead to hours being lost travelling between screens trying to trigger another bit of dialogue or cutscene, while this might give you some feeling of accomplishment when you finally can move on in the game, the majority of the time you just feel like a dumbass for not figuring it out in the 243 times you've been in that room before. This might be the big difference between modern adventure games and the old ones, I've been playing Walking Dead, and while I love it for having a well written story and making you connect with the characters to the point of having a hard time making decisions, it feels no more than an interactive book, every setting is very contained with little to do and the puzzles are as simple as figuring out how to peel a banana. Balance them out and I think newcomers will have no problem spending a few bucks on them.
Great show as always guys. I support Tom on the nudity bit, in my country we have tv-ads with mild nudity (mostly from body gel commercials, and yes, I'm talking about boobs) which I know is not allowed on the U.S. yet you can advertise cigarettes and guns, how the hell does that even make sense? Sex is a part of life and nature, denying or trying to cover its existence doesn't make it less important. Making a mature game with a sex\sexual driven story should not be that outrageous, I remember having tons of fun with Leisure Suit Larry. Censorship is never a good thing.
