Assuming I buy Resident evil archives, what's the difference between the wii version and the GC version?

The GC version comes in a black plastic case with "GameCube" priinted across the top of the cover sleeve. The Wii version, on the other hand, comes in a white plastic case. I think it also has "Wii" printed on the upper right hand corner of the sleeve. The biggest difference, however, is that the Wii version comes on a standard DVD-sized disc, whereas the media used for the GC version is quite small.
You didn't mention the Wii controls, The choices are as follows: play the game with the nunchuk plugged in to the Wii remote, unplug the nunchuk and turn the Wii remote on its side, or dig out either a Classic Controller or an original GameCube controller and play it that way. Other than that, it's exactly the same in every sense as the GameCube version, it still has no wide screen support. You could get the gamecube version cheaper, but I would rather have this to save messing around with memory cards and gamecube controllers. But the ability to play with Wii-specific controllers doesn't add anything to the game. You're playing the same game the exact same way, so it's pointless to mention it.
Granted, this is a fantastic game, and if you don't own the GameCube version, you might as well get this one just for the sake of consistency (and, like you said, the convenience of not having to change controllers or save methods). But for anyone who still plays GameCube games on their Wii . . . this is just a sad, simple port.
