I've been playing this beta a lot lately. Sciencey enough to be a real simulator for the most part, easy enough to just pick up and build and see what happens. Do all the math on paper and apply it to your build for optimal flight (calculus) or just "trial and error" it to the moon or the other planets. It doesn't matter, both are amazingly fulfilling. Worth trying the demo at least. And I really hope they get it finished eventually...soonish.
I don't need the share button for "social media" thanks. Not every one has or wants a "myspacebook" page to share useless info about my game stats or whatever. It's a little gimmicky.
I still love to go back and play Rome: Total War. And this looks and seems to play freaking amazing! And as @GOGOGOGURT points out, once you play the Total War series, most other RTS's feel like just games.
@Larouche911 I say try DD used. It may be more worth it if purchased used.. It's got some great features, but so much back tracking, and once you've been everywhere it kind of takes a quick dive down to boring. So I suggest, buying it USED and playing slow to enjoy it. (And F the dlc gear, seriously. It's all on the disc, and you pay micro-transactions of 0.99 for a couple swords or whatever, but it's already on the disc. And non of the early stuff even really mattered unless you were literally just starting your play. You're just paying for the unlock key... makes you feel super cheated. And it's very scammy)
It does have some great fantasy battles and great monsters. And watching your pawn grow and become more functional is nice. But the game isn't perfect.
Just find it used for 15-20 and I think you'll be happy enough until something great comes out.
Oh and if you do some day do a cheats episode, could you elaborate on where they originally came from, why they were put into old games. Where they just for the fun of the users? Or, as a childhood rumor suggests, they were used by the developers and testers and just left in? I remember many childhood conversations of this subject. Basically the original purpose and reason for codes/cheats that lead to them becoming such a common part of games that now they warrant an episode.
