He is excited about the PC centric country of India, calling it a "poor country that soon will have a completely global, online connected world, for which games will be completely different."

Oh wait if india is poor wouldn't console gaming be the better choice? Since yuh know.. it's cheaper? Consolities please don't use the argument *PC gaming is more expensive* it's only like that in certain areas, so please don't use such a general statement. Just say it's more expensive in my country or something.

anshul89

Actually its because pc games cost a thrid of what console games cost here

link (Rs 870 = $22 and yes i bought it for that much on day 1 :D)

Yea that's why I said they should say it's more expensive in THIER country and not make a general statement.

another reason is piracy. i think 75% of the pc gamers here wouldnt have bought gaming pc's if piracy wasnt possible on the pc. so you could say piracy is a good thing otherwise they all would have been console gamers now contributed absolutely nothing towards pc gaming.

Heh, 75%? That's a really inflated figure, of all the PC GAMERS I know none of them pirate software (maybe music and movies). Piracy is damage done by casuals, wouldn't think of playing through my favorite games for free when I know that I wouldn't be getting a sequel because of it, would just be hurting myself to that end. Think any real gamer would see it the same way.

Was posting on the message board of my realm and then I started thinking abou the topic I was arguing over and decided that it wasn't a game for me anymore, so I canceled my account and erased anything to do with WoW from my PC. Have been feeling better since I gave it up and have found some real gems of games that I normally wouldn't have played over WoW. If you're looking for a reason to quit, looking for an escape is reason enough to quit. Think that's the only time I can say I was addicted to playing a game, never really realised it until that moment, though.

I would have to suggest Warcraft III and it's expansion The Frozen Throne. Easy to figure out, straight-forward units and the hero system adds a bit of an RPG touch to it. It also has one of the best stories I've played through in any game.

I'm really looking forward to Age of Conan myself, looks like it will try to deliver the total package of PVE and PVP along with some nice steps forward in terms of graphics and gameplay. Think Warhammer has the biggest chance of stepping in on WoW's market, though. Have already preordered both out of sheer good faith that they'll be worth playing at least to the level cap. I'm a big PVP fan, and the class selection in WAR looks extemely interesting, I hope Mythic can get 24 classes balance properly, Blizzard has had a hard enough time with 10.

All-in-all I think the MMO genre will at least start heading in the right direction this year, WoW paved the way over the past couple of years, now other developers have to find a way to outshine it.

Assassin's Creed, don't think anyone that reviewed it played all the way through, the first hour is the best, then it's downhill the whole way. Good story, but the gameplay was a major letdown.

i actually prefer the witcher to be honest. it suffers a bit from a dodgy translation in places (hopefully that will be greatly improved with the patch on may 16th) and theres a few other niggeling problems but overall its a better game imho. better, more believable characters. a more developed world and a story thats not really a battle about good and evil but its all shades of grey. alot of love also went into the games long development period and it really shows. the game has put a smile on my face alot more than ME has.

ME is still a crackin game mind but if i had to choose....it would be the witcher as best game so far this gen imho.

Totally agree, and The Witcher hit me as a total suprise as well, pretty fresh take on an RPG. Would even throw Crysis in there above ME given how much fun the nanosuit was at times. In terms of sheer scope and story, Mass Effect is still a really impressive game and probably the most fun I've had with my 360.

Jon Irenicus - Baldur's Gate 2

Altair - Assassin's Creed

Jackie Esticado - The Darkness

Nariko and Kai - Heavenly Sword

Nathan Drake And Elena Fisher - Uncharted: Drake's Fortune

Kratos - God of War Series

Prophet, Psycho - Crysis

And I'll end it with just about any character from Warcraft III. Sure I'm missing some that I'd like to have in here, but no more are coming to mind.

Total Annihilation by far, the game was way better than star craft and came out six months before it yet no one seems to know of it. Sad really :(TrailorParkBoy

TA is one of the most popular RTSes of all time, it was absolutely amazing for it's time in it's scale. What it didn't have was 3 unique factions and extremely balanced multiplayer and an absolutely epic single player campaign.

As for underappreciated, I'd say Beyond Good and Evil would have to be one of my top ones. I'd throw Dreamfall in there as well, both classics, but no one seemed to play them. Maybe Dreamfall will get some more notice as an XBL original, may buy it again just to give it some more support.

everyone needs to realise the ps3 isnt what sonys claims.daveg1

Agree. 4D gaming? What the hell does that mean? Supercomputer with no branch prediction, speculative execution or out-of-order execution? How does it keep from tripping over itself while running random process threads? 256 MB of RAM? Why does it have less video memory than my video card?

No doubt it's a mean machine, but they built in a lot of flaws to save money as is usually the case with consoles.

Don't really see the point, most electronics break down in the first 30 days (something like 70% if they have a factory fault) and beyond that you can consider yourself fairly safe asside from power surges which every electronic device in your house should be protected from. Think if MS finds that you didn't have the consoles in a well ventilated area it can void your warranty and I wouldn't doubt if they're not looking out for it with the extremely long warranty they've given the console. Would be safer to just wait and play and see what happens, lest you brick it on purpose then wind up with a voided warranty and repair costs.
