So most of the mods i've seen beyond making the game unplayable on my current laptop and pc...what do they offer? oh thats it? about the only mods worthwhile is quests and new stories other then that the texture mods seem to mean one thing if i use them then the game that barely manages to play on medium on my desktop wont even play on low settings.....and my laptop as it is only plays it at low settings...

Hermits can be proud of mods when a few things are a fact
1.installing a mod takes 5 seconds and requires no knowledge EVER of how to use a computer beyond point and click.
2.The mod will not change the system requirements.
3.99% of mods don't suck.

To be honest, I would find this acceptable. I really don't want to see Microsoft go the Wii route with the 360.

Actually, I was just reading another thread and a thought popped into my head. Microsoft waiting until a 'certain type of TV' becomes more widespread? OK, I'm taking a wild guess here and thinking along the lines of 3D TVs possibly based using polarised glasses, shutter glasses or even the new types that (as long as you're stood in the right position lol).

I have the iz3d drivers for my PC. Now and then I delve in for some 3D gaming on my PC suing nothing more than some anaglyph (red/cyan) glasses. It works really well, especially for some games. COD 4 is awesome! The thing about it is, you can set the seperation and in the depth etc so that objects appear to protrude out of the monitor.

I may be adding 2 + 2 here and getting 5 but (if you follow my line of thinking) but imagine 3D gaming AND Natal? Imagine the 3D effect of someones hand coming out of your TV and being able to virtually shake it. Add to that Natal should be able to do headtracking, and so now your 3D view also changes perspective as you move your head around, peering round corners, looking through a window etc.

Maybe, just maybe this is where they could go with console gaming?

You know, that has been said so many times with the release of each exclusive game on the PS3. I would say they already are properly utilising it, especially with games like KZ2.

OK I'll put my hand up and say I probably dont know as much as you guys but I am telling it how I see it from a PC gamers perspective. I just dont see the Cell being used that much, that is essentially the point I was making. Laugh at my lack of knowledge by all means, I also take your point about the Cell being used for servers etc, I am curious how much are they used for servers and how much are they used in all computing applications over x86 intel processors?

I mean, if the Cell really is used quite widely then I'll gladly accept it but I don't see where.

Sony has been making awesome games and console but not many ppl buy them, the reason is we're not ready for it. Many ppl are still attached to the last gen gameplays and maybe few yrs later we'll start to enjoy the PS3.

No lol, the hardware in the PS3 right now is already dated, it was already up against some intense competition with top of the line PCs the day it released. If they had held out any longer, any impact they hoped to make with next gen graphics would have been lost.

See, if the Cell was as awesome as it was hyped to be, it would've caught on like wildfire and become the workhorse of countless corporations. But that didn't happen, did it? Why would you say that is? Serioulsy, I'd like to hear your reasoning for this...

Toshiba uses the Cell technology.

IBM uses the Cell Technology.

Componys that buy the BladeCenter QS22 use the Cell technology.

The PS3 continues to be a cheep bit of kit for Scientific calculation ala yellowdog linux instalations.

The Cell does not run Windows.

for the hell of it, hereis a non PS3 Cell card used in a lot of high end workstations for the benefits of the Cell provides in movie editing, FLOPs, Ect.

Considering the entire information technology market, consumer electronics (that require processors) the Cell hasn't really been a big hit.
