@appleknight A "subtle philosophical open ending"... You've read Arthur C. Clarke? Isaac Asimov? Philip K. Dick, Frank Herbert, Robert Silverberg, Ursula K.? Do you know anything about science-fiction at all? Do you think you know how "simple" Mass Effect gamers are? Have you even played the series? You're really in love with yourself, don't you. But you know something, you're not that funny. Or smart...
@tizmond «Did I mention it was crap?» Thread winner!
As for the «they're not going to change it», nobody knows at this point. BioWare pretty much went into the trenches, full blackout. But why should we trust that (official) statement? It's not like they've never lied before. And there's a lot at stake here and they know it...
@gpm23 On the contrary. If BioWare doesn't change/fix the ending, Mass Effect 3 will become a joke in the industry. I'm not trying to be cynical or ironic. It's a matter of fact.
@zintarr Absolutely. Are videogames an artform? Yes. But just because cinema or painting or literature are art forms doesn't mean every movie, painting or book is a work of art. And it certainly doesn't mean they can't be questioned. And let's not even address the historic precedents on writers changing endings because of reader feedback. Was that the end of literature as we know it?
