@briggsy10 This. Also, when you end your game with a message to buy DLC, the "artistic" argument is pretty much gone out the window...

@shingui5 They expect to feed you PR talk such as "75 perfect scores", buy their games and shut up. Because god forbid gamers start having opinions on the games they pay. It would be so bad for the industry...

And btw BioWare isn't changing the ending of ME3 (their art) because the audience didn't liked it, but because that audience will not be buying any future single-player DLC for the game with the worst ending in the history of video games ever. None of this is about art. It's all about money.

You want art? Go play Mass Effect (1) or Dragon Age Origins...

Seriously Gamespot? Almost three months after the release of Mass Effect 3 and this is the best you can come up with? Stir up the ME3 fan community to get lots of views and comments? Seriously Brendan, your assumptions are wrong: «Whether these post-release changes are actually improving the works in question is irrelevant. (...)» Really?

This kind of argumentation can only be defended as long as you stay in a cloud of generalization. If you start addressing objective facts, things get more complicated. Lets look at ME3: Disappointing nonsensical ending, important characters/squadmates discarded to minor roles (all the ME2 crew), reduced dialog options, no explorable hub worlds (besides the Citadel), no vehicle based missions, many eavesdrop sidequests that rely simply on planet scanning (nothing but filler), disorganized mission inventory. And connecting single player story outcome with the need to play multi-player.

But hey, what do I know. I'm just an entitled whiner...

As long as it's for the benefit of the game, it's the right decision. It's good to see game developers that are not willing to compromise quality just to rush things and make a fast profit. We know very well how that usually turns out, don't we?

Anyway, can't wait to see how this game is looking like. Last year's E3 video was great. We want more! And lets bring Tomb Raider back to the top!

Who wins when Mass Effect 3's ending changes? Hopefully, Commander Shepard. As for the red, green and blue pills? I want an ending where Shepard doesn't betray everything he's been fighting for during the entire trilogy.
