Waiting for Goty,Ultimate or whatever edition, rarely buy them at release, and usually find them a millking formula nothing more.

I hope they get rid of the dynamic leveling, kinda stupid facing a level 40 bear, and go back more towards Morrowind, then "improving,streamlining,cinematic- enriching"Oblivion.
Still liked Oblivion too,but not as much as Morrowind, and they really had plenty of time to create a better story this time, that`s usually their weakness. The Engine, kinda used to it,almost would miss it:-)
[QUOTE="Dantus12"]Thanks but im talking about the first bioshock, also i might try changing compatibility mode to windows xp as i already have it on vista and thats done nothing really. If the loading times cant be fixed then its getting deleted, im not waiting 5 minutes every time just to play :/Since you and the other user are both on Win7,I did`nt fare any bether with XP 64 bit to here is another one for win 7

db0873 Fix for Bioshock 2 crash
I called 2k games today and they offered a fix for me that ended up working. It seems that it has something to do with windows live and auto save also the gentleman stated that windows 7 64 bit was an issue also which I'm running. So here goes the fix… First run the game in direct 9x then see if it crashes which more than likely it will. After that go into your documents from the stat menu. Once there find the file that says bioshock2. Rename it to Bioshock2old. From there go and start the game up and sign into windows live. Start a new game and go to the first play through and move your guy around. After that go and exit out of the game. Go back to Documents and you should have a new Bioshock2 folder. Go into Bioshock2old and copy the saved games. Go and paste that saved games into the new Bioshock2 folder. From there make sure the bin file has the read only check uncheck. Then go and start the game up and sign into windows live. Now you should be able to play the game without any crashes. I did all of this as he's said and been playing nonstop now without any problems. It seems to work fine now. However I would suggest saving your games regularly just in case so you won't lose ground. Just in case this might help you I'm running my rig with an i7 3.3ghtz processor, 12gb of dim, Asus Rampage II, and a Nvidia GTX 295 card using Windows 7 64 bit. Hope this helps.source:http://forums.2kgames.com/forums/showthread.php?57504-Fix-for-Bioshock-2-crash/page2The loading times, also uninstal the Demo if it`s there and reinstal the game.Run in compatibility mode for Xp.sn4k3_64
Had it on both, with 15 fps and complete slowdowns,it might hate 64 bit systems.Your rig is to much for the game so since im completly out of ideas two last things
Restore N vidia profile to Base, enable v sync.In my case Realtek drivers were the problem, after reinstaling them, the frame rate was stable, and loading was 45 sec max

Oh and its not my computer, this game seems to just fail when running it on windows 7 64bit..

Do you have the Demo instaled,I had copy protection issues, back then.If so,uninstal the Demo, and the game and clean it out of your registry, than reinstal your game again.
Run in compatibility mode for XP,and lower your resolution.Does the task manager say running or not responding?
nope, my registry is fine as well, i cleaned it out not long ago. Its the game itself, it just sucks, every other game i run loads/runs fine. I can try it in xp compatibility but i cant see it making a difference. When i click it and wait for the splash screen to load, if i press ctrl, alt delete then it says programme not responding..but it does eventually load.Running out of ideas, wasnt better for me either back then on XP 64 bit. What solved it for me was a complete Realtek Audio driver reinstal.Looks like your board is using them as well.

The bigger change, however, is that the game will no longer support an overhead tactical view on any platform

Trying to calm PC gamers about the camera much.
Also quote
Greg Zeshuck about Origins:
"I mean, we're not proud about saying that the PC version was done first and the console was done second. Now, this way we actually do them all together, so you have much more of a natural experience. It's actually kind of interesting, because if people understood how incredibly hard it was to get the complexity of the PC version into the console version… people just don't comprehend how challenging it was. We worked with Edge of Reality, and the team deserves a medal for what they did. It's one of the most complex interfaces in the PC space - power bars and mouse buttons and up to 50 different powers you could use. To make it work on the console, and really work… Maybe it's a different experience. I think it's a great accomplishment. "

^Is this normal? In game loading times take ages, and before i even play the game the splash screen just hangs for like 20 seconds before it opens the game >.>. Help please
sn4k3_64
Defrag your hard drive, and try the game under DX9,and instal Microsoft NET framework 4,check in your add and remove programs panel if it`s there ,and than use update and repair first.
It was a nasty port on PC,how would they do it properly for PS3 is unclear. You did`nt miss much, was disapointing compared to the previous releases.
No One Answered Me First Time I asked so here I go again.
I bought Bioshock on GFWM when it was cheap, $2. Anyways, I installed it and when I start it up, the start up logo pops up but it just is stuck there. Nothing happens after that......The Start Up Logo just stays on there. I check Task Ma. and its running but nothing happens.
Can anyone tell me whats up?? I tried restarting it over 20 times. I turned on compatibility mode, and it does the same thing. I unistalled it and reintalled it and same thing happens.
Help??

Find the Bioshck INI,must must be somewhere in your documents.Open with Notepad,in the line
AudioDevice=FMODAudio.FMODAudioSubsystem, and add the following line:
AudioDevice=D3DDrv.D3DAudioDevice
and after that add a semikolon infront of the first line,to get this
;AudioDevice=FMODAudio.FMODAudioSubsystem
save and close.
Instal Microsoft redistributable 2005/x86.
Try Disabling UAC and running the game if the above doesnt work.Instal K-lite Codec Pack Basic, and ad as exception Bioshock EXE,and GFWL,in your antivirus.
