And yet only 8-9% play it daily at the same time..... where did the others go? Did they play it once, find it lame and never go back to it?

Unlikely.

If they're like me, then they're likely waiting for it to be completed before playing it regularly so that they're not bored with it once the final product is released. I've done the same with Star Citizen for the same reasons, but that's a nice cow attempt at diminishing its accomplishment.

I wonder how many millions of cows continued playing UC4 after beating it the first time?

Team based fast paced FPS twitch shooters like Lawbreakers, Tribes, Unreal Tournament, etc.

Apparently most millenials and gen Zers either don't like them, or can't compete in them.

My reactions and aim aren't what they were in my twenties, but I can still manage to wreck most fools.

I don't know what happened, but I blame games like CoD, and more recently, Overwatch for casualizing much of the genre and making the faster, higher skill ceiling games niche these days.

Hello. I'd like gaming experts opinion on this games current state as the developer lists many new updates and stuff.

Is this worth playing?

I don't play Overwatch because F Blizz for guzzling the SJW kool-aid, "Our team shooter is so 'progressive' that it features animals, autists, and LGBT representation which adds absolutely nothing to gameplay in a shooter, but just look at how progressive we are! /pats selves on back"

People don't play games for the dumbest reasons. I play OW for fun and not because what happened in some badly drawn comic (or wherever you got those backstories from).

I was half joking. I honestly just didn't like the WoW cartoon-esque art style; the political lore additions came later.

TBF though, Overwatch took a page from TF2 in trying to create a team based shooter with characters that have their own personalities, but they took it a bit further into the realm of trying to create some lore for each character instead of the archetypal characters of TF2. I never really liked TF2 either.

I picked up Lawbreakers and I've had a great time in the handful of games that I've played. I think that the name and the splitting of the name into the two opposing teams is a bit dumb and I don't know or care if there's any associated lore for the characters. I like the art style and, more importantly, I really like the speed/fluidity and limited Z-axis freedom.

It reminds me of a Tribes/Unreal hybrid with arena sized maps.

Lol consoles.

I wasn't aware of this game, but I watched a video of gameplay today and it looks pretty cool to me, but I'm also a huge Tribes, Tribes 2, and Tribes: Ascend fan.

The OW fans are all up in the YouTube comments screeching about it being an OW clone, as though OW were the first team based shooter in existence. In any case, it looks slick and adding the Z-axis back into the realm of possibility boosts the skill ceiling.

I can't imagine this being fun with a controller, but it looks cool.

A humorous alternate approach to playing the game as "war correspondents."

The best part of this thread is the fact that neither most cows nor lems even care about kf2, but will still argue to the death over 4k and framerates.

Newsflash: The 4k/60fps is (has been) still in the oven (without spending more than $500).

PC gamers will let you know when it's done, but I expect you'll still buy into MS/Sony's hype.

"Muh APU!"

Well it's good to see @texasgoldrush's being wrong streak continues.

You're at least consistent.

I haven't played DS3, but in the past 3 months, I managed to finish DS1 and then DS2: SotFS edition.

DS1 and it's DLC were ridiculously better than SotFS' "Hey, let's just add a shitload of trash enemies and recycle a bunch of old characters as bosses and call it a day."

The sunken king's DLC was decent (barring the lazy "ganksquad" gauntlet).

Crown of the old iron king's "Lol, mult-tiered gauntlet." was annoying and again a phoned in addition.

Crown of the ivory king's near infinite flying electric antlered horse rape in whiteout conditions was indefensible lazy trash. I really think they were just taking the piss out of the fans at this point. There was no actual craftmanship, just a big middle finger to the fanbase with a "pay me, bitch" hand extended.

I'm not saying DS2: SotFS is a bad game, it's likely better than the original DS2; if only for its hamfisted attempt at expanding the lore, but DS1's DLC felt cohesive and made sense without resorting to, "Oh, so you all like a challenge, eh? Well deal with all these assholes and some recycled dumbasses who are now bosses all at once, tough guy!"
