Merry Christmas!!!

Read the title. I'll post all my presents later, but here's the 10 best ones:

1. Line 6 Spider III 150 WATT amp (it's a monster, also the best amp I've ever used)

2. Presonus Inspire 1394 by Firewire (want to record covers, but the installation disc didn't come with the serial number, so I need to call them and get a new one)

3. Bad Religion tickets (I'm seeing them again, same place I saw Social Distortion, which means I'll be front row to 40 feet away)

4. DVDs (Simpsons Movie, Superbad, Christmas Time in South Park, and The Best of The Colbert Report)

5. Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games (it's the only video game I got, but I've got plenty of money to buy the rest I want)

6. Band Shirts (Smashing Pumpkins "Zero" shirt, Bad Religion, Sublime, and I bought myself a Pearl Jam "Vs." shirt)

7. Jimi Hendrix Collection Thing (Live/Interview Audio CD, book, bunch of little things)

8. Money

9. iTunes gift cards (so far, I've bought "Temple of the Dog" by Temple of the Dog, and "Daydream Nation" by Sonic Youth")

10. Family Guy DVD Trivia Game (I'll play it tonight)

I got a bunch of other stuff. It's probably the best I've ever done on Christmas.

Social Distortion Concert

I just got back from a Social D concert. My eas are really clogged, so any questions asked will be answered with a sarcastic, "Huh?" It kicked a thousand bottoms. I love how Social Distortion can take punk, add blues, and then give it an old fashioned rock 'n' roll sound. I call it, "Punk, Blues 'n' Roll." I give the show a 9.5/10 for being so amazing. They played just about ever classic, except "Story of My Life". My favorites were "Reach For the Sky", "Ball and Chain", "Mommy's Little Monster", "Ring of Fire", and "Angel's Wings."

I Now Have 100% Proof That...

Mike McCready is one crazy son of a bithc. Just watch this whole video and you'll see.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p3wDKoX6T6M

That's all I needed to say...except I'm sick of my ld icon. I need a change. I put the cover of "Ten" as temporary substitute, but I'm making one. I'll make one picture of my four favorite albums together to make it.

Also, it appears that wikipedia is pissed off at me for trying to add a section to to Axl Rose's page about how many people view his stop-the-show-when-somebody-throws-something-like-a-coin as negative, and give him a reputation as being a "whiner". This was nothing really personal against him (not vandalism), but it is true and it shouldn't have been deleted. RoboAmish, I'm prepared for you to be pissed :P.

And a new break: The Smashing Pumpkins are releasing an EP in January called "American Gothic." For this EP, they're going acoustic. I for one see this positively, and think it could be a lot like "Adore". I would be extremely happy if we got some new Pumpkin's material that sounded more like "Adore" than "Zeitgeist." Now, we need one like "Siamese Dream"!!!!!!!!

Here's a video of "The Rose March", one song that will be on the EP. I say it kicks the bottom of most of "Zeitgeist."

http://youtube.com/watch?v=x8eLaKptYXk

I'm also currently writing a song. So far, it sounds like Temple of the Dog, with a "Comfortably Numb"-esque solo, as I play the same scale, and have chorus and flanger effects on. It seems that it will turn out great. There are no lyrics, as I'll leave it up to somebody else to decide them. After I'm all done, and I record the song, I might even see if somebody hear could write a song for it. If not, I'll do it myself. This is partially to help me get a good band.

My 10 Favorite Rock Vocal Performances

Yup, I've decided them. I'll probably improve this list, it's not bery good. My top 5 are definite though. Here:

1. Say Hello 2 Heaven by Temple of the Dog (Chris Cornell)

2. Alive by Pearl Jam (Eddie Vedder)

3. Fake Plastic Trees by Radiohead (Thom Yorke)

4. Jesus Christ Pose by Soundgarden (Chris Cornell)

5. Organic-Anti Beat Box Band by Red Hot Chili Peppers (Anthony Kiedis), funkiest rapping ever

6. Like A Stone by Audioslave (Chris Cornell)

7. Daughter by Pearl Jam (Eddie Vedder)

8. Mayonaise by Smashing Pumpkins (Billy Corgan)

9. Badfish by Sublime (Brad Nowell)

10. Go by Pearl Jam (Eddie Vedder), best sung live

In unrelated news, I got NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams today. It rocks socks. It's so much more fun than I expected. I've always wanted a game where I could fly without any machines.

School **** Which Is Why...

I'm glad I have Winter Break in two days. Today, I had the hardest test of my life, my Algebra test. It was on factoring trinomials. Now, the basic form of that may be easy, but this was really hard. I probably got a C on it. It's being graded on a curve though, so I could ghet a B. I also had a Science test, which was extremely easy. On top pf racking my brain, I also had to tire myself out. We had a mile run today, which we have six a year of. I ran it in 6 minutes and 50 seconds.

I think the UPS guy just droppped off my new flange pedal, so I'll check later. Maybe it was the trash guy, all trucks sound the same. I'm going to get the NiGHTS game later today when I can get a ride.

Here's three lines. You know the drill.

"Ambition makes you pretty ugly"

"Should I join them? Too late..." (this song's hillarious)

"Welcome my friends to the thoughts of when, the Fax City four were four young men."

(1)Elmis Convinced Me.../I Can't Wait for this Game

(1)that I should actually buy "OK Computer" by Radiohead. When he said it was better than"In Rainbows", and he had overreacted to IR, I had to get OKC. Needless to say I got it, and I see what the fuss is about this album. No, I can look back at "In Rainbows", and just doesn't seem as good anymore now that I know what Radiohead can REALLY do. Something similar to what happened to "Nevermind" by Nirvana happened. When I listened to "In Utero", it dwarfed NVMD, and it got kicked out of the top ten. Same exact thing. "In Rainbows" now rests just outside the top ten, with "OK Computer" taking its place at a slightly higher position. My standings are "OK Computer", "In Rainbows", and "The Bends" (just because of the amazing "Fake Plastic Trees"). "Kid A", I haven't heard, but I'm going to buy it when I do that thing I mentioned and buy all those albums I don't have. I'm sure it will be one of the best. Now, my top fifteen will stay as follows.

1. Blood Sugar Sex Magik

2. Siamese Dream

3. Vs.

4. OK Computer

5. Badmotorfinger

6. In Utero

7. Are You Experienced?

8. The Colour and the Shape

9. The Uplift Mofo Party Plan (yes, a second RHCP album)

10. Ten (another PJ album)

11. Suffer

12. In Rainbows

13. Libertad

14. Gish

15. Superunknown

And the game I can't wait for is NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams (yes NiGHTS is spelled that way on purpose). It seems like such a soft game, but I heard it's extremely fun. It looks almost like a Sonic-esque game, but flying instead of running. Here's the cover:

Now, judging by that cover, you may want to hate the game, but let's look at some screenshots:

Okay, amybe it still looks wussy, but dammit, it looks fun too!!!! It should stall me until Super Smash Bros. Brawl comes out.

Now pull up a chair, and plug your ears, IT'S TIME FOR A DEE RANT (alarm noises go off)!!!

THE RANT

TONIGHT: Stuck in my pit of anger right now, and also at a point where I want to burn them all, is Rolling Sonte Magazine. Now, any good fan of music knows that they are almost the lowest form of musical information. Thhe decent reviews they've given of an album that I've read, are the review to "Are You Experienced" (5 stars), and "In Rainbows (4.5 stars). I just recently went to their website to read the review on "OK Computer". While the c=screen loaded, I waited for 5 red stars to appear in front of me. To my surprise (and anger), it had four stars!!!!!!!! Now, you may say, what do you expect from them? I expect "OK Computer", one of the greatest albums in modern history to get a perfect score. They at least did this album some justice by putting it in the top 150 of their "500 Greatest Albums of All Time", but not high enough! One witness said, that it has four stars because Robert Christeagu (guru of sh!t reviews) said that it "had no soul". No WTF does that mean? As one of the reviewers said, "It sucks your bones dry until there is no soul left", whic he said IS WHY IT DESERVES A FIVE!!! Now, I want a visual of Robert Christeagu, so I can vandalize it, but I'll just post a normal picture of him:

There you go.

My Day in Review/Answers and a New Guess the Line

I had a pretty good day today. At school, I made my friend bite his tongue for saying that I wouldn't be able to get my jump up 6" in two months. I already got it up three just by wearing those insoles (which are legal in competition), stretching, and eating a little more fruit (it says to make fruit my main dietary source, but I won't go that far) in a matter of days. I should have made the bet with him yesterday, that if I got less than 6" in two months, I would shave my head (see, I would never make this bet if I wasn't as sure as I am because my hair rocks), but if I did, he would have to grow his hair out and keep it that way (past his shoulder and keep it that way for a few months). A money bet would have been nicer though. If I get a foot more jump, I'll dunk, and if I get 6", I'll grab the rim off a run.

I also decided to quote Elmisisms in America. I took a note from Elmis' math exam, and I figured out, that on participation homework assignments, they don't look at your answers, or collect them. They just walk around and see if you did them. So I took the two line he mentioned, and wrote for the answer "I'm not sure, I need shoes to do this question." In a graphic organizer, I had no clue what to write. I just filled up all three boxes with the word 'AAARRRGGGHHH!!!!" filling them all up. I haven't turned it in, so maybe I'll make some copyright footnotes saying tey're Elmis' propertah :P.

I really need to bust out the axe and make sure by chops don't get all choppy (you may laugh now). I'm awaiting my Flange pedal, footswitch, and my Pearl Jam shirt. They all rock, and are the cause of rock. I did rock about everything I could think of and play in 20 minutes the other day, so I can take a few days to catch up on school. Speaking of school, I have an Algebra test on Thursday. My grade's riding right now. I've got the hardest teacher on Earth, so I have a C currently (last trimester I got a B which is bad for me), and would have probably an A- or B+ if it was a teacher who should be teaching . She's like a college professor with how strict she is. Sometimes, she marks us off for things that she told us "she doesn't like", even though it's technically right. B*tch. She's really nice, but still...b*tch.

I've heard a few songs by Pearl Jam, Hendrix, Smashing Pumpkins, and Nirvana in the last few days, and that's not good enough. I need more. I need some old school RHCP, and some Foos, and some Radiohead and Velvet Revolver, ANDANDANDAND AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! MORE!!!!!!........................................................................................................................................................................................

......................................................................................................................................

Sorry about that, I'm done :P.

Here are the answers to the last blog's guess the lines:

"Alive", "Slither", "Weird Fishes/Arpeggi", "Suffer", "Story of My Life", "True Men Don't Kill Coyotes", "Them Bones", "Like A Stone", "Say Hello 2 Heaven". Elmis got 5 out of 9, getting 25 points. Come on people!!!! At this rate, Elmis will win in two weeks!!!! I'm seeing Social D in a 4 days!!!!!!!! Sorry, that was random but it's true. I'm excited. Here's some...riffs? I'm mixing it up for a bonus round. I'll tab out some riffs, and you tell me what song they're from. Good news to those of you with a guitar, this is a bonus round where each is worth 10 points. 6 riffs, 10 each, plus a bonus 20 if you get them all. To make it harder, the spacing of the notes indicates nothing.

I forgot to mention that as soon as I have adequate money to do it, I'm going to go to a CD store, and buy tons of albums I've heard great things about, but never had. I want to buy Screaming Trees' "Dust" because after a few videos Elmis posted a while back, I'm slightly hooked. I'll look for all sorts of things, and then come here and post what I got.

BONUS:

I'll give you 10 extra points if you can factor this polynomial for me because I'm stuck on it for homework :P

a squared-b squared+ac-bc

Guess the Line/Vertical+3=29 or 30 inches

I just got these tings called Speedsoles in the mail. They go under the insole of your shoe, and they increase the elctromagnetic flow in your body, increasing your vertical jump, increasing running speed, and reducing leg injuries. I tried them out and it makes a big difference. I saw a 3-4" increase in jump, which is important to me since I play volleyball. They are also a good excercise tool, as they intensify workouts because the muscles work better, so you can do more. I would recommend them to any athlete. I'm also starting a program, who's name I will not give away because I'm greedy, that promises I'll have 6" more jump within 2 months or I get $400 back (it cost $300) until I double my jump, which would be above 4 feet (a little difficult there). If it works, I should have a 3 foot jump by next March, and even more by the end of next Summer.

Here's some line guessers. It's a biggie, where you can get a minimum of five, and a maximum of 60 points. So fra Elmis has 25 points, and Tweek has 10. That's it.:

"There's something wrong she said/of course there is/you're still alive she said"

"Here comes the water/it comes to wash away the sins of you and I"

"In the deepest ocean/the bottom of the sea/Your eyes/they turn me"

"A door leading to/the gift of a hope renewed"

"Life goes by so fast/you only wanna do what you think is right/close your eyes and it's past/(insert song title)"

"I'm gonna ride a sabertooth horse through the Hollywood hills"

"Dust rise right over my time/Empty fossil of the new scene"

"In your house/I long to be/room by room patiently"

"New like a baby/lost like a prayer/the sky was your playground/But the cold ground was your bed" (this song has one of the best vocal performances of all time)

Anybody could take the lead here, if they do really well.

And thanks to Tweek for making me TC of The Smashing Pumpkins because of my mass contribution over the past five minutes :P. I was too lazy to hop on the chance to be their editor, but I don't have any TCs, so I like this better. Thanks again.

What is the Primary Main Objective?

To destroy the evil power!!!!!!

What is the evil power???

The fact that Pearl Jam aren't touring right now!

I'm being serious there. I've blowing my brains out with Pearl Jam live videos since yesterday (now I demand to see them), and I have to say that all it takes is one more great album by them to push them into the honor of being my favorite (along with Red Hot Chili Peppers and Smashing Pumpkins), which means I need "Pearl Jam". I also need to see them live next time they're within 100 miles of me. And you know what? I've already heard "World Wide Suicide" and a few others from the self-titled, so they are now officially joining the battle to be my favorite.

Today, there was SUPPOSED to be that crappy band playing, and I would get the joy of interuptting them, but it never happened. Apparently, one of the band members through something and broke the our elderly neighbor's (who's really nice, but knows how to get pissed) window. They got in trouble, and there was no band to interrupt. So, I just played every song I could think of thatI even vaguely knew how to play. I just improvised whenever I didn't know what to do. Like when I played "Alive" during the bridge before the last chorus, I didn't play the chords because I still need to look them up. And improvised half of the solo, which rocked. Same with "Purple Haze", during the last part where it fades out, and I need an octave pedal, I just improvised.

In other news, I've recently blown all my spare cash. I bought these things called Springbak Insoles for volleyball that help you run faster and jump 3 inches higher (boosting mine to 27 inches without a run), a footswitch for when I get my new amp, that allows me to switch between presets, a $15 flange pedal, and a shirt with cover of "Vs." on it. That cost me $95 overall. But I'm gonna get back $105. How? Well, for Christmas, my great-grandma sent me 40 bucks, and I'm going to do one of those study things where they give me a game for the Wii to play for an hour and a half and I give them my opinion, and they give me $65. Preety sweet deal huh? I get out of coming home and doing homework (for a few hours) to get payed to play video games.

Guess the line time:

Remember, you need to earn 500 points and you win a prize. So far, Elmis has 20, and nobody else has any. 5 each, and an extra 5 if you get them all right.

"You gotta walk to walk to walk to walk to cover any ground"

"Freezer, rests his head on a pillow made of concrete"

"My tendency for dependency/is offending me/it's upending me"

Minimum if you get one right is 5, the most you can get is 20.

Songs of the Day (That Are In My Head)/Holiday Greetings From Dee/

Well here are five songs stuck in my head, that I must learn on guitar to get out of my head:

"Why Go" by Pearl Jam

"Slither" by Velvet Revolver

"About A Girl" by Nirvana

"Go" by Pearl Jam (not gonna have to much luck with that solo)

"I Am One" by Smashing Pumpkins

Now, for the holidays, I'm gonna do what I'm supposed to do, and give everybody a present. Give me your e-mail, and I'll hand pick a (music/live) video off YouTube that you'll like, and send it in the form of a holiday card. That's nice of me isn't it. You get your very own card from me. No, they will not be p***y Christmas songs, they will rock hard, or if not hard, it will rock like "Fake Plastic Trees". I've already got ideas of what I'll send to who. There, I gave you something, where's my present :P?

Dor the first time ever, today, I actually have an entire album stuck in my head rather than just those five songs I mentioned. I've got all of Vs. stuck in my head from beginning to end. I've been going crazy listening to it so much, and it is definitely one of my 5 favorite albums, and one of my three favorite '90s albums (along with Blood Sugar Sex Magik and Siamese Dream). I haven't bought an album this good since I bought "Siamese Dream". I forget when that was, but it's more recently then "Blood Sugar Sex Magik".

Now, to do something extremely cheesy. I'm holding a contest. Every blog from now on, will have at least three guess the lines, and for everyone you get right, you get 5 pts. If you get all of them right, you get an extra third of the total points you got. So, if you guess three right, and nobody else has guessed any of them right yet, you get 20 pts. instead of 15. First to 500 points wins (yes, that will take a few months) a prize from me. I'll think about what it is.

"It wouldn't pain me more to bury you rich/then to bury you poor"

"We are the fossils, the relics of our time"

"Oh people please don't go out on me/don't go on me now"

Possible points are 20 pts., and minimum (if you get one right) is 5.
