Hey, I'm looking into buying a headphone to replace my Panasonic RP-HTX7. My budget is around U$100 - 150. My on-board sound is 7.1 Realtek ALC889.

Thing is, I'm buying them in Brazil. My actual budget is U$200, but there'll be some taxes, so it'll basically be similar in cost to a U$100 - U$150 headphone in the US.

I already searched a bit, are the Sennheiser HD 448, 457 and 419 any good?

Any recommendation is appreciated :D

[QUOTE="mitu123"]

[QUOTE="bacon_is_sweet"] Interesting. Could you explain a little further. I guess I'm not too sure what you mean. What's wrong with the PSU on the current choice?04dcarraher

It's not a well known brand.

Well with PSU's that have multiple 12v rails they have a maximum about of wattage and amperes per rail. Which means that you have make sure that the gpu or gpu's are on a separate rail then from the cpu and mobo or you can run into power issues. A psu with a single 12v rail that can supply 90%+ and all its amperes makes it simple and straight forward and you know that the parts will get the power it needs.

For example take a 600w psu with two 12v rails each rail has only 19A and can only supply 215w per rail. which means that if you were to hook up all parts to feed off that same 12v rail with a load of 215w+ watts you can run into issues. A single rail based psu with same specs would be able to do 35A and 430w.

You scare me my friend. I also have a 550w psu with two 12v rails each one doing 19amps. So if me gets a 660/660ti do you think I will run into problems?

I'm looking at possibly getting a tv tuner so i can use the cable my college has. But i have no clue in this area of hardware.

The cable is just basic cable, plug the cable cord from the wall to the tv or what not.

My budject is 70 dollars but i would prefer to spend less. Needs to be pci or usb.

Thanks for any suggestions.

gadmei is the way to go for tv cards. I had one since the crt days for nearly about 5 years.... It failed on me a few months ago. I have a new one. Its a crt + lcd combo...... Works flawlessly and output upto 1080p. Also has picture in picture so no I can watch tv while using the computer. :D Happy hunting.

kungfool69
help me find the drivers for the above mentioned card. I tried 9800gt on nvidia's website but it seems they have the driver for the 256 bit version. Any help would be appreciated. :) P.S = You could have just linked them the driver for the card or you could have ....... "Remote Desktop".

Is there a noticeable difference in performance between 2000mhz ram vs 1600mhz?i'm currently using 8gb of 1600mhz DDR3 in dual mode and I was wondering if upgrading to 2000mhz would show a noticeable difference? My mobo supports it, but I'm not the most knowledgeable on PC hardware, so I figured I'd ask u guys.godzillavskong
Just get 1600 if you find that number cool.:D 1333 and 1600 dont have any noticeable difference. Gaming or other things. Its rarely noticeable. above 1600 is an overkill. Spend that cash somewhere else.

I installed the 9800gt inside my computer..... then i connected the dvi to the gpu and then boot. Evrything went good until the windows welcome screen. I enter my password and suddenly the monitor's power button blinks as if it is not receiving a signal. I tried booting in safe mode but its not working. The driver dvd which came with it had only xp and vista. So i have now removed the gpu and now i am downloading 32 bit drivers win 7. Now how do i install the drivers without plugging the card in?

I've bought PC's in the past with gaming in mind, but never primarily for it. I know very little about building a PC, but I've been reading up and trying to learn. At first I was going to go overkill and "future proof" my rig, but was told that it would be smarter to just build a solid rig now and upgrade later due to the nature of technological advances being to quick. So with that in mind, this is what I came up with:

  • 1TB HD
  • 128GB SSD
  • 16GB DDR3 RAM
  • Cosmos II case
  • Corsair Enthusiast Series TX750M PSU
  • GTX 670
  • i5 2500K
  • ASUS P8Z77-V MoBo

I have a few questions about this build though. First of all, my house is quite dusty and gets very hot in the summer so I thought I'd go over the top with the Cosmos II case, though it is quite expensive and huge/heavy. Is this a good option, or can I really get similar results with another case? I'd also prefer to only use the stock case, though the option to modify it with fans in the future when I really have an idea on what I'm doing would be nice.

As for the GPU, is the GTX 670 a good option? I have the option of 2x HD 7850's as a backup if I'm unable to find a GTX 670, but that option is more expensive apparently I'd I'm prefer to buy the GTX 670 and possibly add another one later also. As for the CPU, is the i5 2500K fine, or should I look at the i5 3700K or possibly an i7? As for the MoBo, I have the GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-UD5H as a backup if required also.

How will this build handle current games? Do you think it will handle games released in the near future well? Overall, is it a quality gaming rig that should last me awhile with most of the top games? This is the first rig and I don't have the oppurtunity to spend this kind of money much, so I'd like to do the best I can with it.

Thanks.

8 gigs is more than enough for gaming. Also drop the psu down as gtr12 has said. I relly think that you will change your mind about sli later. You could get good results with other cases too. I recommend the corsair graphite 600t white. One sexy case :P If your only gaming I dont think that ssd is gonna be of much help except about 10 sec quicker boot times and 1-2 second faster in game load times. Just get a regular 7200rpm hdd. 2500k is a good processor.

[QUOTE="JigglyWiggly_"]it's nut that bad stop yo whining

I know its not that bad. So will getting this gpu make the artifacting problems stop? What new card is the 9800gt's performance comparable to?
