That's for the game disk itself

Sometimes it helps to read everything

RotaryRX7

NO it's for the console bundle. Console AND game. The PS3 console only has a 90 DAY WARRANTY

Read it again.

Konami doesn't warranty the console, SONY does.

Just like any other bundle game. For instance, with Gran Turismo 3 back in the PS2 days. I bought that bundle, and still had the usual warranty for PS2. Polophony Digital did not cover the warranty, SONY did.

You're simply confused, that's all.

I'm not confused. You're ASSUMING WRONGLY. Did you go to the URLs i posted?? It's right there in black & white.

Still don't believe it even after reading it; Konami has a number for inquireies about it. Call and ask them how long it's warranty is for.

Customer support for this product only:

  • Tel:(310) 469-5505
  • Email: MGS4PS3bundle@konami.com

It says "Konami product" which only applies to the game itself. LuckyLy

the console IS a konami product. it's sold only through Konami.com. it's the MGS4 console bundle, again, a Konami product.

Like i said, the link to the page that states 90 Day warranty is from the CONSOLE product page

90 DAYS !! WTF.

so if it breaks 3 months into owning it, too bad you just own a doorstop then. A LIMITED EDITION $700 (600+100 shipping) overpriced Doorstop.

Eventually I imagine we'll be moving towards reintegrating the GPU back into the CPU. With shrinking die sizes, and increasing number of cores, I believe it'll move in that direction eventually.Zaber123

Not for gaming PCs. For budget PCs yes, that was part of AMDs plan when they bought ATi. To do away w/ IGPs and cell a line of business CPUs w/ GPUs incorporated. It may eventually move that way for consoles as well, but much farther down the line. I dont see it happening for enthusiast PCs though. The stand alone card is preferred for upgradibility & tier choice.

Oh i just realised I misread. You said 8600. Yes a 7800GT is a better card than the 8600GT.

8600GT is too slow to make use of DX10, and it's slower in DX9 than a 7800GT.

But I really recc spending the little bit extra for that 3850. The extra performace far outweighs the small bump in price.

So, on a few more recent games, which would be better? I'm not trying to max games out, just to make them look moderately nice.LightSoulBlue

Between a 7800 & 8800? The 8800 will always be better.

a 7900GX2 will be better in DX9 games, but i dont think that's what youre talking about. That was a $800 card when it was new.

If youre asking if a 512MB 3850 will be faster than a 8800GT it depends what game youre talking about. in Crysis a 8800GT will be faster because it's drivers are tailored for it (nVID partner program). But that will change when ATi releases some new drivers. But in Bioshock, the 512MB 3850 is actually faster than a 8800GT (even though its 50 bucks cheaper).

This is the card i recc to everyone shopping for a new vid card.

Just wondering seeing as these graphics card companies are making upto 4 GPU's at one time soon that is this where the future is going? Like RAM instead of buying one stick of really expensive ram thats like 4gb big you split it over 4 sticks so say you have 2 x 1gb and you need a extra one then you buy another one. ATI seem to be making very cheap GPU's now with the 3870 being only £150 and the 8800Ultra is more like £550. so instead of buying one really expensive card you can buy 2 for cheaper and have slightly better performance and then buy another one if needed etc etc.

Just wondering if this is where GPU's are going to go.Grantelicious

It's the direction ATi is going. nVID hasn't commented. ATi wants to set up processing power separately from MHz. They started this back w/ the Athlon 64 which was beating the P4s that had more GHz. Intel changed strategy w/ the Core2 moving back to a more Pentium 3 approach & concentrating on efficiency instead of speed.

AMD/ATi's strategy is to create cores which scale in numbers. so the budget model will have one, the mid range will have 2 and the high end will have 3-4. the Radeon HD 3000 series will begin this trend next year when theyll double the GPUs. no word on whether nVID will be following suit.

Whatever works, works. They just better make sure MS is on board w/ programming DXAPIs for that strategy or they're end up w/ few games supporting it. Thats the problem gunnasony has, they implemented an alien architecture w/ no API support and basically told the devs to figure it out on their own. Well, that resulted in poor performance in cross platform titles, and the very few AAA titles which werent letdowns cost an enormous amount of money to produce.

I've got a choice between these two, mate. Can you help me decide?LightSoulBlue

For the same price? Then the 8800GT obviously.

I wouldnt pay more than $150 for a 7800GT or $240 for a 8800GT.

a 512MB radeon hd 3850 is the best bang/buck though.
