@Thanatos2k: That's extremely solid, especially when the reviews are saying that it's a game that pretty much acts like a giant expansion pack to the first game. Normally when a sequel is designed like that, the reviews are terrible from what I've seen, so that means that Splatoon 2 is doing something right.
@Starshine_M2A2: No, PS Now can be played on PC and mobile now. It can currently be played on Vita as well but they're discontinuing it there in august for reasons they didn't give a damn to explain.
@mezzanine58: This. Normally when games are publicly announced, they've already had at least a year or two of development time. A perfect example of how long AAA games normally take to make from scratch is Kingdom Hearts 3. It was a game that was actually announced too early (I believe Nomura was the one who confirmed this). It didn't have any development issue or anything like that (contrary to FF12 or FF15), it was literally announced too soon in development. We've known about it since 2013, and we still don't know when it will be released despite it being 2017.
@risingdawn: I'm... not sure where you're basing the claims of unfulfilled promises. They've kepted backers up to date constantly, released playable parts as modules, drastically overhauled said parts based on player feedback, and are continuing to add in the various elements of the game that they had promised from day one. Where are you getting the claim of unfulfilled promises from?
@nuke2099: I was not aware of the gameplay vids actually. I legitimately thought the only information that we had so far was the reveal trailer and screenshots, and since those were pre-alpha I was willing to let it slide. I was not going for a "you can't judge it until you play it" argument, as I find that thing stupid. Apologies for the confusion.
The news is kinda a no-win situation for publicity for Cloud Imperium, since it's obvious they had to do this due to the whole economical effect from Brexit. If they took the initiative and brought it up first, naysayers would think they're lying and hiding financial difficulties. This was the alternative, where they had to placate fans instead. Whether you think CI is doing a good or bad job so far, this event is a pretty unfair hand they had to deal with.
@TylerGamer84: It's either acknowledging the situation, or not doing so and being blamed for server issues that aren't their fault. Which would you choose?
