Region locking is pointless. If I buy a legitimate copy from another country, why should I be unable to play it here, at home, on a system I ALSO bought, but in the US instead?

This does not benefit you. If anything, it HURTS you, because you're completely nixing your import market.

Of course EA would love this. They've been lusting over the digital-only model for quite some time now.

@BigFeef Umm... that's pretty much how the article's putting it. What incentive would there be to pay for the retail version if they didn't offer that? I think you're just being a little TOO paranoid, like the majority of the respondents in this forum.

And well, like all RTS expansions, you'd buy them all. There isn't much extra explanation needed. You want to play with the new units and see more of the story? Pay for the game. According to the article, the whole F2P thing is multiplayer only.

Don't like it? Then either buy the game like everyone else, or.. OR... you could just simply not play it at all! :O

@emperiox How is accepting full responsibility an excuse? You need to lighten up a bit.

I really think people are seriously overreacting to this article. While I won't argue the evils of the F2P model (trust me, I don't like it either), you're all acting like they just made the ENTIRE GAME this way. It's just the multiplayer portion!

You can avoid the whole irritation by simply purchasing the retail copy. It's that simple. Just buy it, like you normally would. You'd have access to everything the game offers without having to hassle with all the micro-transaction garbage that F2P users choose to deal with.

You guys are making this out to be a lot worse than it actually is.

You can pretty much blame gamers for the majority of this. They know sequels sell. It's just like the movie industry.

People complain about this, yet they do almost nothing to combat it. Activision will tear up sales records for the fourth year in a row with Call of Duty: Black Ops II... and then people still wonder why they keep making yearly entries.

GTA3, Vice City and San Andreas all got released in the fall... I can hardly say that it's really in any "danger" of a later release. I see it only as a benefit to us as we're more likely to get a much more polished game.

Let Rockstar take their time.

Oh, and can we please get some actual GTAV NEWS articles instead of these stupid analyst quotes? I'm getting tired of reading what random strangers THINK what will happen, instead of real scoops of raw info from inside the development staff. :|

@Mr_Big_Boss Yeah, my eyebrow raised at that too. I don't know how the hell they missed that.

I'm really surprised that there hasn't been an HD collection announced for III, Vice City and San Andreas yet. >_>;
