You know, with so much fear-mongering by the media on violent video games, it's no surprise that parents are influenced by what the NRA, Leland Yee, Jay Rockefeller,Will Fourkiller say.
Because let's face it, most parents don't know shit about video games other than the fact that the majority of them involve violence. So the only information they have on video games are media outlets that are extremely biased against video games to begin with.
This is a classic example of public opinion surveying conducted after manipulation. Shortly after the 9/11 attacks, how much do you want to bet was the percentage of Americans who wanted to go to war?
Sure thing. Maybe they'll discover what other countless similar studies found out:
Violent video games make people less sensitized to violence, but there is inconclusive evidence that links violent video game playing to violent crime committing.
In other words, we become less shocked when we see someone's head chopped off, but we do not become more inclined to chop someone's head off.
