my favorite nintendo console is the snes because it has the best selection of rpgs and it had some really good platformers.
my favorite nintendo handheld is the gbasp, lot of good rpgs and ports plus it plays all the older games
least favortie is the n64, no rpgs, perfect dark was awesome though
[QUOTE="Dunbake"][QUOTE="totalgridlock"]Thread necromancy strikes again! :D
Really, I think all the ones worth mentioning have all been mentioned, so I'll just say:
Secret of Mana, Secret of Evermore, Final Fantasy IV-VI, Illusion of Time/Gaia, Shadowrun, Phantasy Star II-IV, Chrono Trigger, Earthbound, Super Mario RPG, Shining Force I-II...*
*most of which are on my to-buy list, a significant number of which were never released in Europe (grr) and all of which can go for a pretty penny on eBay.

thread necromancy? talking bout me posting in old threads? im new to the union so i was looking over the old posts, and a couple i thought i could contribute to.
i think the op was looking for cheaper games thats why i left earthbound out. it gets expensive, and why i left off several good rpgs for the saturn. but yeah if he is willing to spend some loot earthbound is a cool game. i borrowed it from a friend cause i didnt want to pay the going rate on it.
Oh don't worry. We like thread necromancy. Feel free to dig up and reanimate any old thing you find lying about the place :)
I don't think the original poster is going to be around though... :P
i figured it was probably to long a time for the op, i was keeping with the original question in case anyone else stumbled upon it as i did. i love this union message board btw. there is only one other forum i frequent (non-game related) most of the other i have been to are immature or have a bunch of retards in them. i recently started looking at the forums on this site and was spending most of my time in legacy platforms until i seen someones signature and checked out this board. good topics and good posts. though reading through some threads it seems gamespot has been through some turmoil in recent history. kinda glad i missed out on all that.
just picked up Breath of fire IV complete (ps1) for $22 (i now have the complete BoF series)
Master Gear for the sega game gear + link cable for $5 - the master gear lets you play sega master games on the game gear. i didnt know this existed until about a week ago, and i had to have one asap! the link cable allows you to hook a genesis controller up to the GG for two player games. didnt really need this but it came with the master gear, so i am not complaining.
gba player for gamecube w/ disc - $20
and rogue galaxy ps2 for $7.95
[QUOTE="Dunbake"]this topic was well thought out by everyone! for me its simple, i prefer the complete game, but if it is a game that i really want to play or that is hard to come by i will take disc only. for ps1, ps2, xbox, saturn, and dreamcast i would say 75-80% of my games are complete, but for cartridge based games like nes/snes/genesis/ and the handhelds that i own, lynx, game gear, gbasp, gb probably only 15-20% are completeaspro73
My thousghts on this have evolved a little since it was originally posted. In a weird way, I now only want complete games for the cart-baed systems that I was originally happy to have loose, whereas if I see a loose game for a disc based system (and it is a hard to find title) I will pick it up so I can play it. I don't add it to my collection lists, but I still grab it just so I don't miss the opportunity to play it.
The switch on moving to complete for cart-systems came abot just because I have so many cart games now I just don't want to add any more unless they are complete.
That is an interesting evolution. i feel the same way about the cd games, i dont want to miss out on playing the game just because it didnt have the case and manual. now if i run across a complete copy of one of the games i have that i really liked i will definatly pick it up for the right price, and get rid of my disc only game.
I have a collection of masonic memorabilia (pins, historical items etc.) i dont collect it as much as i used to but if i see a nice peice i will pick it up.
i used to collect sports cards when i was a kid, but i probably havent bought a pack of cards since the early nineties, however i still have all the cards stored away (thousands of cards), so i guess you could still call it a collection.
