I heard somewhere that this game has been in development since 2009. You'd think they could make a better product in that amount of time. Hell, even Star Trek Online is better than this (by a large margin), and it's free.

I'd never heard of SWOS before this, and although I'm more of a hockey man, I might have to give it a go. I have to laugh at the acronym though, given that in a UK accent, it sounds an awful lot like 'swass,' which has an altogether different meaning here. Juvenile as it may be, it still makes me chuckle that there's people out there that have said, 'I loved playing with swass in the 90's...'

@KristoffBrujah Honestly, this guy is my frigging hero. One day I hope to have an end to the Back to the Future 2 nightmares (You have to use your hands? That's like a baby's toy...).

Man, I was listening to the soundtrack to this on youtube and immediately went searching through my old prepaid visas looking for one with some left over change to purchase the game based on its music alone....

@alpha_unit97 Yes EA may bastardize some of the franchises that it absorbs, but that hardly qualifies them as the worst company in America. From a business standpoint, the worst thing they are doing is alienating their fan-base. Now to put this to bed, I'm a Pipefitter who works in the oil industry, I help build and maintain refineries and extraction plants in northern Alberta. If you had seen even some of the damage that these companies are doing to the planet up here, most of the companies on Consumerist's list wouldn't even be mentioned. Two last things; first; just for the record, I'm about the farthest thing from an environmentalist out there, I'm single with no plans on having kids, so screw the planet, I ain't going to see it end. I'm looking at it from a more realist perspective. Second, for those that say, 'Alberta's in Canada, not America,' all of the companies are American, and none were represented on this list.

@alpha_unit97 @obsequies Microsoft is one of the few major corporations that hasn't made a direct attempt to bend over a barrel a stiff me somewhere uncomfortable as of late. Albeit, I'm not a fan of Win 8, just like I wasn't a fan of Vista, but the convenient thing about operating systems is the ability to skip the ones you don't like. Win 8 has it's user base and I'm just not a part of it, so what? I've never had a problem with MS customer support and frankly, compared to Apple's OS I'm fine with Win 7 as well as my XBox. Just because a company gets massive doesn't mean it's automatically a bad company. Being evil, however is another story altogether (*cough Disney), but I'll save that for another comment.

@SkylabOne Suffice it to say that the people that voted on this are probably not the most unbiased or informed people out there. Truth be told, although I'm definitely not a fan of EA's business practices, some of which are absolutely shameful, they still have some games that I'm willing to shill out my hard earned money for, hell, NHL 13 is the only reason my Xbox is still plugged in. That being said, I was a big fan of the Simcity franchise until they cocked up to the last release. There are far worse companies out there, but looking at the list provided, it seemed more like a "worst pop media reputation' contest than anything. The only thing I'm surprised about is that Disney didn't even make their list, but I guess they did state 'worst' and not 'most evil.'

@Ravenlore_basic All I'm saying is that they've currently only been developing it for a PC base. Given, I haven't had any programming experience since high school, however I think it's reasonable to assume that going from such a modular platform as a PC and going to a strictly governed platform as a console would come with it's share of difficulties. A device such as this comes with many aspects that generally wouldn't be part of a console release, such as head tracking, significant resolution changes, and multi-screen displays. Console just don't allow the same freedoms as a PC when it comes to peripherals. I'm not saying it can't be done, just that they haven't been putting any effort into porting it to consoles, so if the PC version is successful and they decide to port it to console, a lot of time and work will probably need to be required for such a port to be possible. That said, since they aren't currently planning said port, any current next-gen game development isn't including compatibility plans, thereby meaning that prior to the possible decision of porting to consoles, no games will be including any plans for compatibility.

@Ravenlore_basic Although it might eventually come to consoles, due to the fact that it's currently only under development for the PC platform only, it won't be coming to console in the foreseeable future. Not to mention the inherent hardware limitations that come hand in hand with consoles, be they current or next gen. As I said, it might eventually end up on consoles in some form or another, but don't hold your breath.

@Ravenlore_basic Don't hold your breath on this coming to consoles any time soon. If you go to the dev's website, they explicitly state no current plans for console compatibility. Yes, consoles do make games, but this seems like a product more geared towards simulation gaming, a facet of gaming definitely more suited for PC.
