[QUOTE="screechmario"][QUOTE="Ego-testicle"][QUOTE="screechmario"]Uhhh yes it does. We have gone over this many times on SW. Let me simplify it for you. Company A sells a console for $300 and loses $100 on it Company B sells a console for $100 and makes $50 on it. Company A generated more revenue. Company B is worth more.

Who is "we" exactly? The royal "we"? You made your account yesterday. I don't know whether this is discussed frequently on these forums because I just started posting here, but it seems odd that you would know.

Since your new here I'll let this slide. People are allowed to have more than one account on this board. Understand?

I don't believe that is the case. Perhaps you should familiarize yourself with the TOS before you begin posting.

Sort of off topic, but I have to wonder if all of these sales numbers were important to Nintendo fans last console generation. I don't know why gamers would even care about sales? Unless a company is in serious enough financial trouble that it impacts their ability to release quality games, it really doesn't affect the end-user whatsoever. I will also say that no sales record is worth enduring a casual lineup like the Wii has put forth in recent years. If a Wii was my only source of gaming nourishment I would be starving for titles that appeal to me.

Market capitalization does not determine the size of a company. Sony has a lot more revenue and a lot more assets

I thought Sony was going bankrupt in 2006. What ever happened to that? Oh, that's right. Put on your tinfoil hats, it's E3 time.

Short answer? Not a shot in hell. "The Conduit" doesn't exactly carry the same weight as "Halo". If it revolutionizes the FPS genre then the sequel might have a chance. From the looks of things, Wii games without the name "Wii" in the title and some packaged-in gimmickry tend to sell disappointingly. Even proven names like GTA have failed to find an audience with Nintendo owners, as dismal sales of Chinatown Wars illustrate.

Is it all hype about this "last minute suprise" or is MS about to drop a megaton? What do you guys think it will be? Perhaps another stolen Sony exclusive or will it be something along the lines of a Halo: ODST bundle, lol?

ironcreed
Which high-profile 3rd-party Sony exclusives are left to steal? It seems that just about everything is multiplat. MGS4 would make big news on the internet, but in reality it's an old game and would be old news in a hurry. I suspect if Microsoft drops a real megaton it will be a completely new IP or at least a high-profile exclusive. GTA Vice City 2? One can dream.

Blizzard are nothing short of Mangods. The game will run flawlessly on a 386 desktop and probably define the RTS genre for years to come. The first one is still a religion in some parts of the world, and rightfully so.

Mass Effect 2 will almost definitely be the paramount digital media experience this generation and for generations to come. Or it may not. I expect very good things.

[QUOTE="pyromaniac223"]Well, Starcraft 2 just locked down GotY 2009.dream431ca

Yep.

Waiting for a 360 port. SC2 is cool and all, but I'll rather play Diablo (which I hope comes to 360).

undeniable proof because of a gamespot article?

Apparently . 360 has shovelware that brings the average down. No way PS3 would be better. Maybe in 5 years when the 360 isn't in the cycle :P.
