More impressive than Gears visually (though its gonna have to be bloody brilliant to match or top it gameplay wise), and far more impressive visually than Halo 3.

The one thing that does make me laugh now is how the PS3 has unveiled a truly impressive exclusive game graphically at least, and how all the MS supporters who were so pacified before have themselves turned into flaming fanboys, I think it's just a little bit humorous!

.. only this year we have.. Halo 3, Call of Duty 4, hopefully Crysis and Enemy Territory Quake Wars which look equally as good or maybe even better...

Sorry but to put Halo 3 in the same category as those other games (including Killzone 2) graphically to me is a laughable affair. Crysis, Call of Duty 4 and Killzone 2 in particular all trounce Halo graphics-wise. Compare in-game footage of Halo 3 with that of KZ2 and try and say it is 'equally as good or maybe even better'.

I have to agree. All in all I was somewhat taken aback by Killzone 2 - I hadn't got involved in the hype surrounding it, and have such a love for Gears of War (despite not owning on it my friend has it and we play it almost daily) - and didn't think there was any chance KZ2 would be able to top it... then I saw the latest trailer... :shock:

Being brutally honest, the character models don't look quite as impressive as Gears, but everything else seems to blow it out of the water. Some of the in-game footage is stunning, and I have to admit I'm waymore impressed than I thought I'd be, and yes, character models aside (though they are still impressive) - I think Killzone is superior in terms of graphics at least to Gears of War.

I wont' get started on Halo 3, which, to me, has been quite a disappointment thus far. I really am not a fanboy and tried to remain as optimistic on it as possible (for all intents and purposes I have daily access to an Xbox 360 and any releases on it). I was looking forward to its release, particularly after completing the first two titles, but I have to say visually it is a little underwhelming to say the least, and not enough new ground seems to have been trodden. Asa launch title it would have no doubt seemed far more brilliant, but almost 2 years on from the 360's release, I personally think it's looking pretty dated, particularly when put against the visual splendour of KZ2. I know, I know graphics aren't everything, but there's no denying the clout of a great looking game!

I dunno about you guys, but the PS3 in the UK has been going for way, way under the original asking price anyway. I dont think this price cut will really do anything, as i know for a fact Game and Gamestation are already selling it at a discounted price and have been doing so for some time. Yeah that's true but even so it still isn't much of a help anyway, seeing as the RRP of a PS3 over here in the UK is £425 ($856!!!).

Even if you get it for around £360, that's still the equivalent of $725 so either way we are getting the raw deal over here in the UK (£360 is the absolute cheapest I've seen the console available in stores).

I would avoid playing 3 first if you own all of the titles, because it does indeed have the best and most fluid fighting and controls, and going back to DMC1 afterwards may feel a bit sluggish and ruin what is an undeniable classic for you. I'd recommend playing them in order, just to get the same progressive feel as most of us who did the same :)

It would be between the Resident Evil remake on Gamecube, Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 2. All three are brilliant titles.

Code Veronica X does indeed have the best story of the bunch though.

PS3's exclusives are going to spread out over the next couple of years and they include some BIG gaming series -

* Final Fantasy 13

* Final Fantasy versus 13

There's no denying the pull of TWO exclusive Final Fantasy titles, particular over in Japan! You just can't ignore the pulling power of the series.

* Metal Gear Solid 4

Again, another huge title to have as an exclusive for the PS3, and it's coming out within the next 12 months.

* God of War 3

There's no denying how brilliant God of War 3 will inevitably be, particularly graphically, and how much of a big seller it will be to have as an exclusive.

I personally think one element that has also been overlooked is how in 2-3 years the biggest andmost impressive games, not just graphically, simply are not going to fit on a DVD, so at a time when the PS3 will inevitable have dropped in price somewhat, it is going to give Sony's engine a big advantage. I personally think in a few years Microsoft will really regret not moving on from DVD format for their games.

I may be wrong but isn't it a no-no to open up a thread to moan about fanboys? I'm pretty sure the Rules of the forum state to stick to 'system wars' not fanboy wars. Whilst this thread isn't strictly doing that, you still might get into a bit of trouble for it. I know you shouldn't really post in such threads either (which is what I'm doing... ulp!) but I'm not certain whether or not this thread will count.
