I think the biggest selling point of the DS aside from its technical unique touches (touch screen, microphone etc.) is now it's incredibly diverse catalogue of games! Seriously, the sheer variety of gaming styles on offer on the DS is beginning to get a bit mind-blowing.

It's the best selling console around at the moment (including the next-gen bunch), it has been for a while and I can see it staying that way. Developers aren't going to turn their backs on it any time soon.

So basically, you've got an enormous and diverse catalogue of games, including some really unique and inventive titles which the psp and other home consoles just can't and don't cater for. I'm not bashing these other consoles by any means, but really, I'm amazed at some of the titles I've bought for the DS and got totally addicted to. It can cater for not just lots of different people, but lots of different needs for individuals.

If you've got a penchant for gaming, you won't be disappointed by the DS. Do what I did - get one and above all get ready to experiment - look around in store and online and find some truly original titles that you won't find on other consoles, do a bit of research on them (you don't want to end up buying crap) and then go for it!

If the idea of experimenting and branching out into different styles of gaming doesn't suit you, then maybe the DS isn't the best. Though it does have a good selection of hardcore genre games, its the quirky and unique titles on the DS which really provide the system with it's biggest selling point for me personally.
