I can pretty much guarantee you won't completely the first one in 5 hours first time through, unless maybe you are on an easier mode and have a walkthrough (recommendation - don't).

The first one is by far the best of the series, and I really do believe it is BY FAR. The second is dire, really poor in comparison in almost all respects, and the third, whilst better, is still nowhere near as impressed or inspired as the original.

Together the three should get you a good number of hours play though! :)

I think if they included minigames which utilised the touch screen and microphone and had wifi and DS-to-DS connectability then it could prove to be quite fun, but if they release one without wi-fi in particular then it'll just be another heartless cash-in.

I heartily agree - I've had reservations about DMC4 for a while now. Graphically it seems like the only real step forward. The biggest problem is the only decent designs (the ice creatures) are re-hashes of designs from the best game in the series, the original, and the new creatures just look like a mess. Reeks of the DMC2 design team to me, which, whilst they stepped their game up for some of the designs in DMC3, still had their selection of duff enemy designs throughout DMC3.

I'm just not convincend, and not sure I will be till the game is released, and then it's gonna have to impress me majorly for me to get as excited about it as so many others are.

People don't seem to realise Sony is a hardware company. Their biggest strength is reducing the price and size of electronics over time. Blu Ray players are already dropping in price, the main expense of Ps3. The price of 360 and Ps3 should plateau with each other in the future. After all Ps2 made Sony profit (and still is), Xbox lost M$ money. Sony has that to go back on, M$ dosen't. Top that off with the loses from all the free repairs M$ owes consumers.phoonbaba098

All very true and valid points! Ultimately if the PS3 even does half as well as the PS2 Sony will surely be in a good position! Xbox360 needs to really outdo the original Xbox.

New consoles usually take a while to get a good handful of top titles - when Metroid,Mario, Super Smash Bros. etc come out, the Wii will have plenty of top notch titles. All new consoles have warming up periods, we're lucky that the Wii had Zelda from the get go!

Great news indeed, I can't wait!

However, why is this in system wars? Surely it should be in the DS forum?

with 360 they have expanded the library many times over to cater to all different kinds of gamers despite the shooter reputation that follows them since Halo 1.

justforlotr2004

I really don't think this is true at the moment. If you're not particularly a fan of shooters or RPG's, there really is very little indeed the console as a whole can offer. I genuinely don't think it has the reputation of being a console which houses a variety of different games and gaming experiences.

[QUOTE="jacky531"]I don't think the 360's line-up is that strong since PS3 has a variety of games comeing while most of 360's games are shooters.justforlotr2004

Not really. That is just a sterotype, the 360 has a large amount of non shooters coming out.

Well stereotypes can become public assumption and consensus. There's no denying that the 360's catalogue is relying VERY heavily on western inspired shooters - guns and gore seem to be the most prevalant thing on the console. Look at the likes of Viva Pinata, when they tried to bring something new and different to the console. A decent effort, but hardly anybody bought it. And it's no coincidence there's so much western-influenced material on the 360 because the console didn't do too brilliantly in Japan.

I do agree a lack of broader variety could also harm the 360 in the long-run over the PS3. Wait until the likes of Final Fantasy 13 and Metal Gear Solid 4 come out, the time by which hopefully at least one price cut will have happened. These exclusive titles together will surely be a strong enough draw to potential buyers. That is if they don't pull a DMC4 and go multi-platform.

I'm surprised by the PSP winning but at the end of the day the title has kind of set it up being that way, by riling PSP owners to vote for it and prove the original poster wrong.

Still, this thread really isn't indicative of how things fare as a whole. The DS is outselling every games platform full stop, even the Wii, and has a portfolio of games second only to the PS2. It's entered mainstream culture around the world, and is without doubt the everymans handheld of choice, and come on, let's be honest, there's no other way of describing it.
