well to be technical...there was no delay...it was misinformation, so the delay didnt start a fire in system wars misinformation from these blogs did.

and to those who say "well in rush to report they getwrong news" i say this

"blogs like kotaku are in a rush to report bad news"

oh no i dont hink they are sony haters at all...in fact they are just fanboy inciters for all systems.

if they could trash the 360 to get clicks they will.

my point is and always has been, that these sites are renegades willing to stoop to the lowest levels just for the sake of clicks (their sole income stream)

and in the meantime gamers and games in general take a hit...

well to defend itagaki.....playing a game by pressing one button every 2-3 seconds sucks......

BUT! pushing a button rapidly over and over and constanly footsweeping an opponent...now thats gameplay.

if ever one was convinced of itagakis genius....just go buy DOA beach volley ball. you'll have second thoughts!

I;m sure we all saw the bombshell of the day!!

News4Gamers reports that stranglehold for the PS3 will be delayed indefinitely !!! its still on track for the 360.

wow that huge news!

surely there must be ram issues right?
the install base still an issue?
is the PS3 really too hard to program for??
this sheds some light on the gta4 issue ....right?

wrong! most recent headline....

"Stranglehold's PS3 delay ONLY for Euro version. US version still on track for September 17."

http://www.n4g.com/gaming/News-58093.aspx
""This is for the Euro version BTW. I received that press release also. As of last night, Midway North America informed us that:

Quote:
The full version of Stranglehold is currently expected to ship on August 27th for the Xbox 360 and PC, and September 17th for the PlayStation 3. PC and PlayStation 3 demos coming soon. "

"To be thorough, I just contacted Midway U.S. and got the following response:

Quote:
I can confirm that Stranglehold is shipping on 8/27 for X360 and PC and 9/17 for PS3 here in the U.S. If you have any questions, please let me know. "

heres what kotaku had to add to this misinformation:

"We're not sure exactly when we'll see Stranglehold for PS3, but it's been pushed back from a soft date of September 17th to ??? within 2007.

Following rumors that GTAIV was delayed for PS3 programming issues, it brings to question, again, the merit of releasing the same games on multiple next get systems. The Xbox 360, Wii and PS3 are a pile of incompatible hardware. And something tells me that most $30 million game developers would like to see their return on more than one console."

well never let it be said that Kotaku didnt rush to chum the waters of the fanboy ocean....all for click-revenue

not only should these sites retract their stories and update them with the correct information....which they assuredly will do...some half day later.....they should have to apologize to PS3 gamers and owners for posting headlines of this magnitude.....without doing any of the research GS,1UP,IGN obviously did.

how many PS3 gamers today had their morning ruined by this news or the following fanboy parade ?

ridiculous

...for the PS3 only. Ouch.

http://www.n4g.com/ps3/News-58010.aspx

[QUOTE="N4G"] Some bad news today for Playstation 3 owners. Midway sent out a press release this afternoon which contains the exact release date for John Woo Presents: Stranglehold. The PC and Xbox 360 versions will both be released on August 27 but the pressrelease does not say anything about the Playstation 3 release.

Dutch website PS3Only contacted Midway why there was no mention of the Playstation 3 release. They just got a response from Midway which contained the bad news that Stranglehold for the Playstation 3 has been delayed for an unknown time. Although it will definitely be out this year, it seems it won't make the previous september release.

Midway recently said the Playstation 3 version would be released on September 17, but now it seems that it won't make that release. When the Playstation 3 version will be released now is something will just have to wait for. Midway's response can be read below.

"It's definitely out this year but no confirmed street date as yet"Dreams-Visions

Fresh off the heels of a highly successful demo launch on the 360 comes this news. Gotta be something of a blow to PS3 owners who've heard the love 360 owners are giving this game and expecting their turn to have happened soon.

lol dood quit hoping for other gamers misery....you wont end up looking so bad

this their most recent headline :
"Stranglehold's PS3 delay ONLY for Euro version. US version still on track for September 17."

just remember that NEWS4GAMERS is a site that allows anyone to post headlines....anyone!

this guys whole thesis is bunk, for the simple fact he boils it all down to graphics vs. gameplay ....enough of this habbersham!!!

heres the deal... you can have excellent awesome next gen graphics and still gain

physics upgrades
music/sound upgrades
capacity upgrades
post precessing upgrades
AI upgrades

all because the machine is more powerful! these are all things moving to the next gen with 360 and the PS3 have given us.

so if all you want to do is argue graphics vs gameplay then yes, this guy has a point ....but he is taking a broad diverse idea and discussion and squeezing it through a pinhole of an argument.

i actually find it a bit refreshing to not be inundated with all kinds of information about a game.

this game could be very good , and there will be alot to discover because of a lack of attention.

so i dont mind it. i think microsoft is making too much of a deal of halo3 what with the slurpee cups, burger meals, etc. etc.

games nowadays are prone to overanalyzation before release.

take call of duty4 for example....huge hyp going into and coming outta e3. still one of my top 4 games to get this year....but do i need to slowly be shown every single level and aspect of the game before release? cant i be surprised as i PLAY the game?

so bravo nintendo
