Looking at some of the comments, I can see that people are finally starting to wake up. Well, some of the people. There are still plenty of sheep that are so far gone that they will defend Sony no matter what. Going away from mod support, increasing the PSN price, a lackluster reveal for a "4K" console that doesn't do actual 4K nor does it have a 4K hard drive, lack of a real BC option, and mediocre games that never equal the hype...yet people will still fall on a sword for Sony.
I knew it was only a matter of time before Sony started to show their true colors again. This whole situation is similar to how Sony acted during the PS2-to-PS3 transition. The moment they get a whiff of success, they go insane with power. They don't listen to gamers at all. Sony will never change.
The PS4 offered a tiny upgrade from the last gen, and now they are offering another tiny upgrade again. Upscaled 4K instead of true 4K, no 4K blu-ray player, a boring design that makes it look like a stack of burnt toast, and unless I missed it there still isn't full external hard drive support. Combine that with the increased PSN price and the fact that you will supposedly be able to watch 4K media with a normal PS4, and this announcement is underwhelming at best. I was hoping to hear that there would be an actually leap forward this time, but nope.
Well, people bought blindly into the hype last time and they have been doing so ever since (looking at you NMS). Should be interesting to see if people have learned their lesson.
"The site's sources state that Sony are looking to shoot both films virtually back-to-back,"
So I guess the plot of the first film will be where Bond gets a sex change, and the second film will be where he teams up with several unfunny female comedians to take down ghosts.
"Honestly, there wasn’t much for my co-op partner and I to do. We would lay into him with our standard projectile attacks, dash out of the way when it looked like he might land on us, and employ our super attacks whenever possible."
The author basically described almost every classic 2D action game out there that uses ranged attacks as its main offense, yet is now trying to make it sound like a bad thing. Each boss battle I have seen looks and plays similar to a boss battle from old-school Contra games. Are those games suddenly not good anymore like this author is implying?
I hope they get someone else to review the game when it comes out. This person clearly didn't grow up playing games in the 80s.
You gotta love how people are still trying to pull the "it's not free" card. Given the amount of games offered per year as well as the price, it comes out to about a dollar per game. Consider that practically everyone who gets the subscription finds it for far less than the usual price and it's LESS than a dollar per game.
It makes you wonder if those people even did the math.
@howthegodzkill: Nintendo has better worthwhile exclusives than Sony, and both PC and Xbox will have better-looking versions of games than the Neo (not to mention access to more games with backwards compatibility). It's pointless to get a playstation.
@hamandyams: Cuphead got delayed until later in the year, but it's for a good reason. The developer had such a strong response for the game that they decided to add more content such as the side-scrolling levels. They even said in an E3 interview that's it's still on track for this year.
As for Below, it's still in production. They recently wrapped up the Don't Starve DLC for consoles, so that probably kept them away from making Below. Capybara makes pretty good games, so I'm not worried.
