[QUOTE="ahmedkandil"]does anyone else think that if the game were zoomed out (to normal distance) you would still be able to notice the huge lack of detail on doms back?SoulCaliburGold

on the page there is a zoomed out shot of dom's backside. you can already make out this if you got any closer what it would look like.

the screenshot from the blog

Hahaha, PWNAGE....should have thought of that. You see, from the distance, it looks good...but you can tell, ONCE zoomed, it will look bad. Which the blog points out and what i'm trying to tell everyone. Keep in mind, these are 720p HD shots. And since its a PIC..they are still, unlike on TV when you keep moving so its easy to miss it. The blog dude, also states gears 2 is better. He has NO reason to be bias, especially since if the textures weren't loaded, you would see NO detail what so ever, but every shot shows some detail, just poor detail. Its accurate of what the game looks like, when zoomed in.

Also, people are just used to seeing PR shots of Gears 2.

Nope, it would look good....its the point i'm trying to make. Things at a distance in Gears 2 look very good, thanks to cheap tactics and work/art design to mask it...but zoom it up, and the flaws of the engine are shown.

I-dont-need-to-see-screens-of-these-two-games-since-Ive-played-them-both-from-start-to-finish-and-its-obvious....

Gears2>>Uncharted

W1NGMAN-
Yep, but technically, Uncharted's character models are MORE DETAILED. Good thing Gears 2 has an eye catching Art design to mask the low detail and appear really good, at a distance.

[QUOTE="McdonaIdsGuy"]biased blog is biased

bad pic, it still isn't CLOSE enough to tell, and even this pic shows low detail if you look close enough, imagine if it were zoomed closer...thats right POOR detail; like the blog shows.

[QUOTE="InsaneBasura"]

Yes, Uncharted has better looking character models. I could swear Gears 2 does not look this bloody terrible though.

Couth_
That was the pop in or 'fade in' as people called it. The textures hadn't loaded yet. Gears 2 does look great but I agree with the guy it looked blurry at times

yes they have, do you know what it looks like when the texs haven't loaded? its completely plain with NO detail, this pic, while bad, shows very little detail....if it were still loading, there would be NOTHING side a clean one color look.

this a joke? its because they still want the PS2 to be a cash cow, and have people buy it....making it on the PS3, isn't a great selling point for the actual PS2 console, is it? Since the PS3 is pricey and emulation would further add to it. PS2 is still a attractive console, hell graphically it kills most wii games. Sony want it to sell.

[QUOTE="Eyezonmii"][QUOTE="SpruceCaboose"] 1080p is only Full HD because Sony thought it up as a marketing term. If 1080p is Full HD (or Total HD as some companies are calling it), what would 1440p be? Its all marketing fluff to make the consumer believe that 1080p is the "real" HD.Eddie5vs1
NO its not, its FULL because its the highest RESO the majority of HD sets hold...untill those OTHER higher res are the norm, then you can talk.

How is it "FULL" HD? PC gamers have had higher definitions for years. Like Spruce said earlier, "Full HD" is a marketing term.

I'm talking about HDTV's...not PC monitors...GSUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[QUOTE="Eyezonmii"]720p is HD, (lowest form), but True HD.....1080p is FULL HD (Highest form) for HDTV's. Depending the size of your set, 720p looks as good as 1080p (hard to see a big difference)...if its a big TV, then there is a difference. SpruceCaboose
