See, you have the exact same mentality as a hardcore christian does.And Religion has done a lot of good for this world. It also has caused a lot of destruction, but so has atheism.

the difference is that athiests use LOGIC. christians choose to believe that there is a man in the sky who made us out of mud and made the entire universe out of nothing..

i mean think of it, when the whole world was pagan, they used gods to explain things they didn't know about. such as tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, etc. religion was a way for people to create explanations for things they couldn't. even now today many people believe that a man in the sky created the universe in 7 days because we have no scientific proof as to how the universe was created. discover that, and most religions will fall.

Are you saying that, as a christian, I am illogical? Are you saying my parents and grandparents are illogical also? There is a reason why millions of people are still christian. It goes way deeper than the bible will ever tell you. It is a feeling you get, a calmness in your soul. a warm touch to your heart that makes you know that there is a God.

I believe in Evolution and I am starting to believe in the big bang theory also, yet I am still a christian. Not everybody who is religious believes that the earth is only 6000 years old, or that the world was created in 7 days. Alot of us are COMPLETELY rational about life, yet, unlike atheists, we accept the fact that there is more to this existence than we will ever know.

This is what disturbs me most about atheists. They think religion is "dangerous". It never has been dangerous and never will be dangerous. People sometimes use religion as a scapegoat to commit horrible atrocities, but if it is not religion, then people will find another scape-goat to blame their evils on.

Also religion at the very least instills good morals into our children. What keeps an atheist from killing somebody they hate? Not much which is why there are thousands of murders a day (most of which who murder are atheists, but I am not scouring the internet , so if you want more proof, you can search the WWW for yourself).

Ten Commandments of God, listed in order
1. Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
2. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image.
3. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.
4. Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
5. Honour thy father and thy mother.
6. Thou shalt not kill.
7. Thou shalt not commit adultery.
8. Thou shalt not steal.
9. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.
10. Thou shalt not covet.

These commandments are what Christians live by. Do they look dangerous? Do they look like they can spread hate? No they can't. They are a great set of rules to live by which needs to be taught to our children and grandchildren.

Now I do not care if you do not believe in God, but please do not make the assumption that religion is "dangerous". And certainly do not say that it is "irrational"

A year ago, I was picking up my brother from Church and when I walked in, I was spat on by the priest. It seems my brother told the priest that I was an atheist. So yeah Christians are friendly, hey the friendliest guy on Earth, Hitler was a Christian so I see your point.

I'm not trying to promote an 'evil agenda', I'm quoting from the Bible that I have here in front of me. Please, sane Christians, tell this guy that he's wrong.

First of all, I am not as ignorant as what I just wrote, I was just going to the defensive to prove a point and I went too far. Second of all, when I talk about the bible, I mean the new testement, and the bible specifically tells us not to use violence even when violence is brought upon us. Third of all, I have a tough time believing a priest spat on you purposly, but if he did, then he isn't much of a christian.

Your 'evil agenda' is to insult Christians by insulting the very book that they worship with. You are also using quotes from a website that you haven't even double-checked to see if they were accurate. If you are calling me an insane Christian, then what does that make you?

Are you sure that was a church. Last time I checked you can't get kicked out of church just for not going. A church is a place for you to go and worship God when you want. It isn't like grade school where you get kicked out for missing to many days.
