Changing OS...

...in the near future. Yep. I'm sick of Microsoft Windows. Man is Windows not stable for sh*t. I'm sick of having at least once every week the usual "explorer has to close to prevent whatever" and then having the usual "do you want to send an error report to Microsoft" .;clicks yes;. "unable to send error report shutdown of the application is needed" and whatever else Windows has up it's sleeve.

I was talking about this with a friend of mine and we came up with how Microsoft works Windows. I bet they have a schedule like:

10:20am December 13th start error #777463537
10:30am December 13th start error #983498733
start unability to send error report

I don't say this to simply hate on Microsoft, but over the numerous years that I've had computers, Microsoft Windows has never been stable. XP is at the best Microsoft will ever do for Windows, and Vista plain s*cks and thinking that whenever I'll get a new PC or laptop it'll most likely come with Vista, I rather change OS all in all. Despite XP being their summum in my opinion, it still isn't stable for sh*t. It reminds me of when I first bought my laptop, I started it and it had that auto-install OS and all that stuff, all went well, I reboot it. When it reloaded, FIRST TIME, NEW LAPTOP: I had to force reboot it because Windows had already froze on me.

On a Vista PC, same thing almost, I did an update on my parent's computer since they don't know anything about computers and I know that updates will often have security fixes: The PC never restarted therefore I had to f*ck the update and force reboot it again. It's funny how Vista s*cks though. Everybody knows how MSN became WLM (Windows Live Messenger), right? And that WLM was MEANT to work with Vista, but that yet it doesn't work on Vista unless you downgrade WLM and install patches? Maybe Microsoft worked this out in some updates, but from the start that was pretty stupid. How much of a pain is it to install anything on Vista anyway. For an OS, making beautiful translucid windows that uses a hell lot of CPU power, from the beginning isn't really smart (you can change that option though).

All in all, I hate how unstable Windows can be and how unsecure it is although they try to make us believe otherwise and I hate how Vista controls you instead of you controlling Vista and most of all I hate that Internet Explorer can't be deleted 100% from Windows. Thing is, out of other good OS, I simply can't stand MAC. So my choice ends on Linux.

I know most people have bad thoughts about Linux since like forever. How it is complicated to install and use and what not. Linux changed alot over the years, which is what people don't see. Linux isn't hard to install anymore and is far more stable than Windows. What I like about Linux: You can make anything you want work with it, despite what people think. The compatiblity rate is wide. There are many, but MANY different distributions of Linux, therefore you don't have to install a bunch of bullsh*t on your computer that you don't want (like Windows automatically does) since you simply have to get the distribution which has what suits your needs and nothing more. Most of these distributions are open source, therefore allows for alot of improvement over time.

The only pain with Linux: Actually finding the right distribution. There are so many of them that it's hard to actually find the one that suits your needs. I have found mine though, but all I need now is money to buy it. I really need to get a job. Oh yeah, the other pain for my part: Reinstalling all that I had on her. For example my 4000 music songs (I rip all of my CDs onto my comp since I use it as a library and as my stereo). Now that took me a hell lot of time to do and I still ain't done with it. But hey, that's what it is if you want a more stable OS than Windows which franctly isn't hard to find anyway. Plus, Linux doesn't have Internet Explore, but rather comes by default with FireFox and ThunderBird as a mail client which I currently use.

Let me know what you think, although my decision is made and that I'll change to my distribution to Linux whenever I can afford it, I'd still like to know what you people think. So far there's only one person who says she hates Linux, but I was like "how can you say you hate it when you tried it several years ago and tried only one distribution which you didn't even choose?" there's too many to base your judgement on only one distribution, specially if you had a distribution that wasn't suited for your needs.

Level 27

I just realised that I've reached Level 27 on my profile. Sheng Long? Sure thing.

Anyway, Level 27...hey that's pretty far in my opinion. Rock on!

Short blog, isn't it?

I finally saw it!+New Departure

I saw Storm drinking water! F*ck yeah!

So it started this morning, where my dog started to whine AGAIN after Storm. My dog came sleep in my bed this morning as usual, all was fine until he saw her walk around..then it was hell. He'd sit on the corner of my bed steady staring and whining at my beautiful Tarantula. I was like "damn..not againnnnnn it's only 7AM!" and well while was calming down my dog, I decided to watch her go and that's when she did it: She started in the front-right corner of the tank, made her way to the back-right corner, slowly walked to the left taking the time to wet some of her legs when passing by the water dish, went to her burrow, then turned around, went to the water dish again, and dipped the tip of her head into the water and drank for a second or two! It was quite something amazing to see. You don't see tarantulas aproaching water that way very often! It was quite obvious to me that she just drank some water. I loved it! I finally saw everything I had left to see her do, apart from mating and having babies which probably won't happen with Storm. One day though, I'll breed tarantulas for sure.

And now, I want to say good-bye to my good friend Curtis, who's leaving GameSpot with one of his really good friend. You will be missed by me on here, that's for sure. Always were one of the first to reply to my blogs and check my stuff out, at least can still talk to you on MSN, but buddy, you will be missed around here! Hope you will enjoy you're new gaming website!

So..who's leaving?

Just wonder..I see many people moving from GameSpot to another gaming website (IGN mostly) because of all the stuff happening lately around here..Wondering who in my list is leaving GS? I mean damn, I personally don't really care since I'm on GS mainly for you guys and keeping track of my gaming collection. But if most of my friends on here changes site, well I'll go along with them!

We can't deny that GS has changed alot over the years and certainly not for the good. Whether it be a simple little thing as the new review methods,or bigger things, it changed in the bad way.

Leaving here though leaves a scar. All them reviews I wrote, all my emblems! My dear emblems... The greatest part of the site: Emblems. I've worked so much to get all of these! But hey, if everyone of ya'll stays here, I'll stay too, why bother going somewhere else if everybody stays? For me, as long as I can keep track of my gaming collection and read your blogs, that's all that truely matters!

Storm Feeding #4!

Yes! You read right! I've come up with a fourth installment in the Storm Feeding series!

This one is entitled "Surprised Retreat", surprised for the cricket which is a really, REALLY stupid cricket and retreat for Storm's backtracking when she catches diner. I tried making the whole thing easier to follow the cricket path, you'll easily see how I did this and at the same time created that "surprise" feeling. Have fun!

Lost an emblem! & Storm still can't decide! **UPDATED**

**so for my update, I gained my emblem back. I believe it was the collectors emblem which was missing. Woo!**

I know I lost one, since my last row had 3 emblems and is now reduced to 2 of em. I don't know which one I lost though, I can't put my finger on it. Anyone know if GameSpot decided to remove an emblem? Or if we had a temporary emblem that I was unaware of? That kinda s*cks. I love my emblems. I WANT MY EMBLEM BACK! whichever emblem it was.

Oh yeah, Storm once again decided to leave her newly aquired burrow which was her first burrow back then, and went back into the one next to the heater. That T definately don't know what she wants. Makes me think, yesterday I saw something amazing. I'm used to seeing Storm clean her pedipalps (for those who don't know, a Tarantula has eight legs, and 2 pedipalps which are half the lenght of the legs and situated to the front. Take the pedipalps as is they were their arms for us) but yesterday night, her legs and fangs were all wet, so I know she went in the water dish, and she was cleaning all of her legs one after the other! It was quite fun to watch, but as usual, as soon as I touched the tank, she felt the vibration and she stoped every movement. There's one thing I wonder about when they clean their legs..Do they ever happen to bite their own legs by mistake? lol.

Anyway, last friday, one weke ago. I did not feed her because the week before she had leave one cricket and the cricket died of drowning a week later, and since we were moving, I knew the car ride would stress her and that she would not eat. I then decided to not feed her. Today, I will. I bet she will love it. I'll try to film it for all ya'll people. We might get our hands on a fourth Storm Feeding installement! Just remember that it isn't as easy to film cool scenes as I did before lol. Might look easy, but really, it isnt. For a one minute movie of Storm Feeding, which last one minute simply because I add an intro and credits and stuff, I usually have to film over 2 hours of content which consist of a tarantula not moving, with crickets running about. Interesting 2 hour video, isn't it?

Storm can't decide...

...which burrow to take over! lol.

See, it all started a couple weeks ago when my dog came into my room the morning to sleep with me, as he always does every mornings, but this time around, he started whining after my Stormy Storm waking me up at 6AM. Usually he doesn't do this, but I guess he caught her in action while she was having a random walk around the tank.

Starting that day, Storm abandonned her old burrow situated in the back-right corner of the tank and started digging, slowly digging, a new burrow in the back-left corner, exactly where the heater is which is a bad thing for me. First of all, why is it a bad thing? I usually leave my heater on for 2-3 days, turn it off for the following 2-3 days and I alternate like this all the time. The bad side to the new burrow being next to the heater is that Tarantulas will dig and hide in burrows often to escape the heat of the sun in the wild, so the same applies inside a tank. Many people actually killed their T's by puting a heater UNDERNEATH the tank and leaving it on all the time, making in sort that if the tarantula burrows to escape the heat she'd only get closer to the heat source and therefore she ends up frying. Now, why T's burrow when it's too hot yet don't realise that the burrow is much more warm is something I don't know, but it's probably part of their instinct as wild animals. Anyway, I decided to keep my heater routine anyway and all was fine. (for the record, my heater is situated on the back of the tank and my routine is to avoid any damage it could do to Storm)

Now this morning, my dog came in again like every mornings. In my new room, Storm's tank is placed at about the same height level as my mid-body which you don't want to hear about, I'm sure lol. It makes for an easy view on the tank and inside the tank. This morning at 7AM my dog started to whine ALOT. I woke up, of course, and there he was standing on the corner of my bed, staring like mad crazy at Storm and whining. I was pissed. I looked around and Storm was having a walk. I told my dog "dude do you know that if you try anything against her she can kill you" my dog suddenly ran out of my room and went upstairs lol.

So what was Storm doing? Goin' back to her abandonned burrow! But I destroyed her old burrow pretty much because crickets would hide in it trying to escape their definitive doom day, therefore I had to get them out of there and it led me to destroy most of the burrow. Storm was just there, walking around the good ol' burrow she did, then she went in face first and started re-arranging it. She finally did it and right now she's calmly relaxing inside her new which was her ol' abandonned burrow.

Storm just seems like she can't decide which corner she definately wants lol. I remember before she built this one burrow in the back-right corner, she dug just about in all 3 other corners back then, and decided to keep the back-right one for THE burrow and after all her hard work, she abandonned it, made another half-deep burrow for a couple weeks (like if they were vacations lol) and abandonned this one as well to go back into the comfort of her first burrow.

Storm will always amaze me. There's only one thing I have left to see her do and that is drink water. In everything I've ever heard from Tarantula keepers, rare are the ones who were able to see their Ts drink and I want to be one of the rare ones to have seen it. I've seen her take a random walk, catch her food, silk her burrow, silk randomly, molt, build a burrow, try to escape, all sorts of things, but never ever did I see her drink. I know when she does because she puts alot of substrate in the water dish when she does. Ah well, maybe my luck will turn one day.

I am back!

Hell yeah! So now I am moved and everything, just got my internet back now. I really ain't got much to say. I thought I'd have things to say for my return but really, nothing. Moving is a b*tch, it's alot of work, and I'm sick of unpacking boxes. Storm lived through the moving and is perfectly healthy. I'm geting used to it, I feel like it is home and all, but still feels kinda weird. Anyway that's bout it, for now I ain't got much to say other than it feels really damn good to finally have internet back.

well..It's time!

So this will be my last blog until Monday, Nov. 26th. Yep, tomorrow, no more internet for the whole week.

I know I said I'd post something cool and all but I haven't got around doing anything actually. Well..I tried but it just didn't go as I planned. Here's the things I wanted to do:

At first, I tried doing a fourth Storm Feeding video on friday. Didn't turn out too well. The cricket literally walked underneath Storm's mouth leading to her having not much to do to grab that cricket. She barely moved and I was unlucky enough to miss all of her other attacks. Storm Feeding #4 went downhill.

Then I tried making another video. A music video. You see, back when I was doing music with my homie as the group Three Sixty-Five (yes, there is actually a soft-rock group from California that are called the same, but hey, we never got anywhere so who cares?) we shot a video for one of our songs called Eyeless. The whole process was amazing and the video was promising. Thing is, the video never got mixed and edited and well I actually never saw the tapes. Basicaly: The tapes are long lost and we'll never have that video. It pisses me off seriously. It sucks. So I decided to make a slideshow video using the few pictures I have from the video shoot on time with the song. I'm not done yet that's why I won't post it up. The vid gets quite repeatitive as well but hey, I don't have much pictures from it so I don't have much of a choice. Eyeless Video Shoot Slideshow: Failed.

I then thought alot about what to post when Storm suddenly went crazy on me and engaged herself in the threat position. I tried grabbing a pic of this as fast as I could and hey, I did get one! Unfortunately the pic is of a very bad quality, but it's the best I could do. here's the pic:

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

So yeah, that's the best I can offer you guys right now. Hope you like the picture and see ya'll in a week!

Last Days...

So we are now friday, November 16th, in 3 days, which will be monday, Novemeber 19th, internet goes down and I'll be back only on the 26th, if everything goes well. 1 weeeeeeeeek. That's going to be the least interesting because..WHAT THE F*CK WILL I DO!?

Anyway, I'll probably try to work on some more music, something of the sort. So yep, it's finally here, in one week, friday the 23rd, I move. I'll be somewhere else, gotta find a job over there, and eventually will go finish my high school and go to college afterwards. Fun isn't it? Man they have only 10 000 of population where we going. Everyone knows what you up to there. You don't even know what you're going to do but everybody already knows what you be doing. Everybody knows you, even those you don't even know. Hey, I'm going in the damn mountains and woods! Mountain chicks, wood chicks, hopefully them girls will provide me something to get occupied! lol. Nah, I still have a hard time accepting all what's happening with my now ex-girlfriend so I don't really give a f*ck bout them mountain chicks.

Dude they only have 1 petstore over there and I think it doesn't even sell animals actually, only accessories and food and what not. I sure hope they do sell crickets cause else I'm gon have to drive a long way to be able to feed Storm and my second Tarantula that I do plan on getting. Anyway.

So this blog won't stay up long, I will try to make a special blog for ya'll on sunday before I lose the internet. Ya'll gonna be able to leave me comments on that special blog for the week that I'll be nowhere to be found. Still don't know what I'll do for that blog. Maybe get naked and run about, maybe not (I know ya'll prefer not lol), maybe do some wicked video with a song, maybe post a song that doesn't make sense with only a black screen! Or maybe a new Storm video. I'm not getting bit by Storm just for the occasion, hell no. Anyway who knows, maybe I won't even do a single thing and I'll just post something like "welp, it's time people, peace out for the next week!"
