My review of Gran Torino

Clint Eastwood is the ultimate badass, who else can be this awesome and threatining at 78? Gran Torino has Clint playing a old man using racism to cover up his horrific past. The film has mostly good acting all around, Clint is awesome as usual and the rest of the cast is pretty much solid. Some of the gang members were a bit cheesy, but it doesnt ruin the film at all. One thing that really surprised me was the humor in the film, there are a few scenes and lines that actually made me laugh. The ending too surprised me in a good way, I was expecting an epic showdown but what Clint does with the ending really took guts for an iconic actor like him. I really enjoyed this one and recommend it to anyone. It is a bit slow to start out with, but stick with it.

Overall I give it a 9 out of 10.

My new review of the Dark Knight!

I gave this film another watch on Blu Ray, I thought I may have been a bit too critical. I still really enjoyed it overall, the film had a much better flow this time and the plot seemed less convolted. Gordans fake death was still a bit of a cop out, I know he is needed for the series to continue to be faithful to the comics, but it wasnt done very well. I also still hate Maggie Ghyellenhal, her face irritates me. Looks like an angry piglet getting its bum squeezed or something. Her acting was a bit bland too. The Joker was still awesome, though the rest of the film that he wasnt in was not as interesting as it could have been, I didnt really care for the Hong Kong part, and the part where everyone in Gotham is being tracked via that device so batman can locate the joker seemed a bit far fetched. I still think it is a very enjoyable film, and though I would not call it one of my favorites of the year I still really enjoyed it.

Overall I give it an 8 out of 10.

My review of Role Models.

I have seen the director's previous films and have liked them quite a bit, wet hot american summer being a personal favorite. This however didn't the same appeal and random energy of the others. It was still good, but very formulaic and predictable. Paul Rudd of course was great, sean william scott was...well sean william scott. He doesnt exactly have a wide range. The film had many funny lines and scenes, one involving a sausage that was very amusing. The end battle scene was quite epic and for a moment it had that same random spark that the state, wet hot american summer, and to a point The Ten. Some of the more emotional scenes worked better than others, while others seemed a bit to forced.

Overall I give it a 7.5 out of 10.

My review of Twilight.

Yes I saw it, but it wasnt my choice. A girl I was with wanted to see it, I suggested Let the right one in, which is a much better film, but she thought it looked too scary. That blew my mind, vampire films are supposed to be scary, heck that was one of the problems with Twilight. The main vampire looks stupid. Heck none of the vampires look interesting at all, they all look overlly glossy and handsome. The whole storyline was as cheesy and cliche as the book, the acting was ok but nothing special, and the characters were dull.

Basically Twilight is a bad high school romance/drama mixed with a B grade vampire movie. The only parts that really stood out was an kinda cool changing scene, and a hospital scene that worked pretty well. The rest is as forgettable and cliche as the book. If this is the future of vampire films then I fear for the genres future. See Let The Right One in for a real romantic vampire film that actually has some deepness too it. My friend loved it and thought it was deep and beautiful, I thought it was about as deep and beautiful as a puddle of piss.

Overall I give it a 3 out of 10.

See Let the right one in, before the hollywood remake comes out.

This is a real vampire film with true Beauty and emotion, one of the best I have ever seen. Screw Twilight with its cheesy teen romance.

Went ghost hunting today

Though we didnt see much, we heard alot of creepy stuff and at one point when my friends and I were panicking at a sound we heard, we pointed a flashlight somewhere and a raccoon came out of nowhere and hissed. We screamed and yelled "Holy F***" and ran. Good times.

John Cusack should do more action movies.

He has trained in kickboxing and various martial arts for over 15 years, Grosse point blank and War Inc. shows that he can kick ass just as well as anyone can. Plus he is John Cusack so he is awesome by default.
