I like their stuff with Barrett best. Piper At The Gates of Dawn is my favourite Pink Floyd album.

Their stuff without Barrett is quite good as well - although Darkside is really overrated. Wish You Were Here is a far better album, IMO. I'm not really a fan of The Wall though.

To sum up:

Curb your Enthusiasm is great - Larry David is a comedic genius

MCR aren't an emo band - emo music is stuff like Drive like Jehu, Texas Is the Reason, Sunny Day Real Estate, Joan of Arc and is actually pretty good.

You want a real guitarist? Kirk Hammet, Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, Pete Townshend, Jck Johnson... Anyone but that guy.ciredude

Jimmy Page is perhaps THE most overrated guitarist ever. He was sloppy as hell and I can never really forgive him for the amount of music he stole and passed of as his own.

That said, I don't mind Led Zeppelin. I used to really like them, I just grew out of it.

[QUOTE="zepman71"]No love for The Who? Who's Next is one of the greatest rock albums everzepman71

I could never get into the Who. There's a couple of songs on Tommy, Who's Next and The Who Sell Out that I like but the albums are pretty hit and miss for me. They're a band I respect for their influence but I don't particualrly like.

Fair enough. I actually think The Who Sell Out is their greatest along with Who's Next, strangely overlooked album...

BTW, is your name taken from the Love album Forever Changes? I really need to get that album...

Yeah, it's from the Love album. You should get it by the way - you'll be a better peson for it.:)

Although I'm not a Who fan, I have to agree with you on "The Who Sell Out".

You base your facts of being a bigger metallica fan than me because youre dad introduced you to them when you were 5 and youve heard there first 5 albums in their entirety. Clearly youre not a fan because fans like all work from an artist no matter what.airg6

What?!

I just saw you post this in another thread:

Thats why I dont listen to anything metallica after the black album.
airg6

so that means you're not a Metallica fan?

Anyway, I'm sick of this thread. Too much ignorance/ too many people contradicting themselves. I don't care if someone likes Metal and dislikes Rap - as long as they've given the genre a chance. Talent is not just being skilled on an instrument - it's found in songcraft as well. Stop forming opinions on an entire genre of music based on what you've heard on MTV or commercial Radio.

Later.
