Kirsten Dunst stars in Columbia Pictures' Marie Antoinette

The most excruciating and painful moviegoing experience I have ever had was while watching this movie. I would've walked out if I didn't pay full price for this piece of crap they call a movie. It's so bad I got up every 5 minutes or so and stretched, and when I sat back down, that felt like it took more energy. It's so bad I switched seats DURING the movie about 7 times or so. It's so bad no one else cared when I was walking around the theatre, they were bored as well, and I give respect to movies, but this.....this deserves NO respect. Shame on you Sofia holding the Coppola name, It's so bad that if I ever see that *^^%* walking the streets, I WILL go up to her and punch her right in the face. This movie is long, has no story (oh wait, I forgot about its sitcomish plot about Antoinette trying to get her wuss husband to sleep with her), goes on and on for 2 hours, thinks that its pretty looks will make it a good movie and has the worst ending in movie history....MY GOD, Marie Antoinette DEFINES crap.

I liked that film. It's not Sofia Coppola's best film, but it was alright, IMO.

So, a bat just flew in through the window. I chased it around the room with a cup but eventually lost it. I checked everywhere but, alas, I couldn't find it. I can't get to sleep knowing that the little bugger is hiding somehwere:( Any tips on how I could find its whereabouts?

[QUOTE="-Austin-"][QUOTE="SpidersRMe"][QUOTE="-Austin-"]

[QUOTE="SpidersRMe"]See, that's what I don't get about the whole concept of "indie". What does "indie" even mean? When you're a published musician who plays rock, what's "indie" about you?Engrish_Major

Indie rock is basically alternative rock.

The ironic thing is that they call it indie to market it to different people.

Well it's sort of like a different style but, normally its just alt rock that is released on independent labels and I guess the artists are supposed to have more artistic integrity or something like that.

Since the genre has gained popularity in recent years, the term has began to describe the sound instead of the band's status. Just like a band can be labeled "Popular" without having many fans, or labeled "Alternative" whilst being mainstream.

There's much more to being Indie than being signed to an independent label. It's an ethic.

As for the whole Indie = Alternative thing...

In the 80s you had the American Underground scene (bands like Black Flag, Mission of Burma etc.) Nirvana grew out of this scene and brought it to the mainstream in the early 90s (cleaned up for the mainstream, of course) bringing about Alternative rock. Indie-rock was a reaction against this. Of course, there's many sub-genres of indie-rock.
