There you have it. I thought I would be the only one defending DC2, but others feel the same way. As for weapon breaking, I think its very unique. What other game has you paying attention to the little things that can make a big difference? There are many enemies (monsters) and I didn't find them all that bland as one person put it (if I remember correctly). Also, someone above said to bear with the first level of the game. I AGREE. I'll tell you why I don't have a problem with this though:
It ties perfectly with the (amazing) storyline. I believe that the first level was supposed to be slow because it introduces a Strong storyline. At first, your confused because Max (protagonist) is writing to his mother. Its not until a little later you understand that *SPOILER* his mother is missing, and then later *SPOILER* you find out shes from the future. As the cool kids would say, "trippy". And then after that, the storyline just intensifies. I for one LOVED the town building. First, it was a little hard, and I was confused with the whole system. But after getting a guide for the first level (Sindain) I was able to understand what to do from there. The present affected the future (from Max's point of view) and that really tells you how unique the game is in terms of story.
Its often called the Zelda Killer, and I really wish there was a part 3 and 4. Maybe some day, but the bottom line is this:
For $7.00, you cant go wrong for a game thats worth so much more.
Lastly, although the comment above me says that the graphics are ok, I feel that they are much more. Yes, its a 2002 or 2003 game, but its artistically soulful. I'm a guy who plays Halo, GTA, NFL, NHL, Wrestling, Ratchet and Clank and so on. If I can be moved by an RPG, Asian Magnet, videogame like Dark Cloud 2, you simply cant deny that this game is something else.
...Thats my opinion, and although I may sound too serious, and/or too emotional over a videogame, Iwrote like thatbecause you wanted me to convince you, and I hope I did.
