One Step Forward, Two Steps Backward

Currently Listening To: Breaking Benjamin - “So Cold”

IRL

Well, I found out what happened to my stomach yesterday. Turns out the turkey in my sandwich was starting to grow mold. Ew. I just noticed today when I was about to make another turkey and cheese sandwich. Good thing, I caught it this time around. Now, I know why I thought my sandwich tasted iffy. Well, I’m not dead though right?

I had a four hour work shift today. My boss had gotten some pastries and apple cider and she left em out for us to snack on. Yummy!! I’m not sure why she does it. It’s free food though, so who cares? After work, one of my coworkers wanted to walk home with me because he was scared of getting raped. I can honestly see that for a scrawny, effeminate guy like him. He got shocked by my music. Go figure. I was listening to the Saw 3 OST. Heavy metal has such a bad rap. Why does everybody think I’m some boy band or Britney Spears & Wannabes fan? I like all music, but rock and metal are the hottest on my list. Anyways, he asked to come over to my house tomorrow so he can borrow my computer. I figured ‘sure whatever’. I don’t have any plans tomorrow anyway, so I’m expecting a guest around 3 pm or later tomorrow. This guys seems too bent the other way to take advantage of me, so I don’t think I’ll have to worry tomorrow. I’ll keep my knife close anyway. ^^

I only wrote about 1000 words today, ending exactly with a word count of 44,000. Curse you, Monster Rancher! Curse you!

Monster Rancher EVO

Shin (Julio) trains Aibou (Piroro/Piroro)
Marlene trains Lillith (Pixie/Pixie)
Gaufre trains Lakota (Tiger/Tiger)

Tico trains Maya (Maya/Maya)
Lambert trains Nessie (Lesione/Lesione)

I finished both Campana and Tongue Bool today. I unlocked both the Durahan and Joker breeds, meaning I have unlocked all locked breeds! Yay! Lambert is either a poor breeder or he’s just not good with Lesiones. I had to give him a lot of larox to increase their bonding. There had been much resetting as I kept trying to test out the training level versus gadget level making one of my monsters get hurt. A total of 4 times I believe for that matter. This rpg really needs to learn how to dress their stories. Simply talking and some abstract looking picture is not a way to flashback. There should be long, lengthy fmvs with riveting music and lovely graphics! Then again, the game goes faster though most games these days have a skip movie sequence. I’m enjoying raising the monsters all the same. I think I’m actually getting into the game now. Oh dear, my poor writing project…

I think I’m hungry. I ate my last meal about 9 or 10 hours ago. I had a banana about 5 hours ago. I had a Slim Fast one hour ago. Weird. I usually don’t get hungry except around noon. Oh well.

Anyways, I ended up spending most of my day playing instead of writing as I predicted. I managed to write about 2,300 words though, so I’m at 43,022 words now. 7,000 more words to go! My antagonist is starting to make their appearance now. Soon, my story is going to go downhill. Like many stories, it’s nice and lighthearted at first, then bring on the angst! This story is still considerably lighter than most of my others. Unfortunately, my evil muse won’t let me make a 100% lighthearted story, so I had to compromise. I still haven’t decided on an ending and from the looks of it, I won’t have to worry about it for this month. The NaNoWriMo requirement is to simply write 50,000 words, not finish.

Monster Rancher EVO

Shin (Julio) trains Aibou (Piroro/Piroro)
Marlene trains Lillith (Pixie/Pixie)
Gaufre trains Lakota (Tiger/Tiger)
Tico trains Maya (Maya/Maya)

I made quite a bit of progress. I went on an adventure in the Grabad Factory. Maya and Lakota ended up fainting before I hit the dungeon boss. Lillith at half-health was pwned by that boss badly. So, I put on a few shows and used a little more strategy when going through the dungeon. Lillith had gained enough anima to use Starlight, her strongest long range attack boosted by her lvl. 5 INT. She’s become my one-hit KO girl. ^^ So, when I got to the boss, I sent Lakota to keep the boss away from the other two. I let Lillith slam him with Starlight while Aibou was there to boost the guts bar.

After beating that boss, the troupe went to Campana. I went and bought some gadgets, the most expensive of ones at that. After all, the stronger the gadget the stronger the monster gets, right? Well, not quite. I didn’t lower the training method so Aibou ended up hurting himself. I just hit reset and made sure to lower it this time around. I needed to get used to the new orcoro eggs (got too used to the green ones). Also, I unlocked the Hengar breed and did some “fortune teller” side quest where I had to buy the cheapest food in the shop. That was pretty much all the food in the shop because they were all the same price -_-;. I ended up earning a whopping 5,000 gold for it though ^^. I went and re-scanned a few discs that were unable to create monsters before and mostly unlocked Hengars. I did get some Mayas though.

I Shall Have You Punched In The Stomach!

Currently Watching: Shelly Duval’s Faerie Tale Theatre - “The Nightingale”

IRL

I’ve received two of my dvds I’ve ordered from Amazon: “The Nightingale” from the old “Faerie Tale Theatre” tv series I watched as a child and the third volume of “Wolf’s Rain”. I personally found “Faerie Tale Theatre” to be extremely cheesy even as a child, but I just fell in love with “The Nightingale". The sweet little Nightingale who brought comfort and healing has become a symbol I try to use in every one of my stories. Even my muse takes the shape of a nightingale, thus creating my little used username “NightingaleMuse”. My pap keeps misspelling it though. He thinks the second i is supposed to be an e. Tee-hee! The dvd was only $3.00 too ^^. Once I’ve got the free time, I’m going to rip some of the pretty songs that little bird played from the dvd. “Wolf’s Rain” has been ignored for now since I haven’t seen the entire series yet and I’m trying to focus on my novel.

Speaking of my novel, I’ve broken the 40k mark! Woot! 40,640 words to be exact. I need to write roughly 2000 words a day if I want to finish on the 30th. I also have to pray that something bad doesn’t happen to my computer as well. Just imagine all that work shot down the drain just because the internet went kaput on the final day of manuscript uploading. Oh well, even if the site doesn’t say I finished 50k, I know I did. I’m going to try and practice typing more after this little project. I only type like 500 words an hour. Blech. Fortunately, I do have 4 hours a day to spare this week, but my moods are such a problem. Also on off-days, I tend to treat them as off-days. No work + no school = PARTY!!! I have a hard time breaking that mindframe. I actually get more done on my novel on days I have to go to work. Weird how that works.

Monster Rancher EVO

Well technically, I didn’t really play this. I spent a good 30 or so minutes scanning discs. Mainly because my pap rented “The Da Vinci Code” and was going to return it today. So, I figured I'd see what monsters were hiding in those discs. Then I decided to do a few more discs that I haven’t gotten around to scanning. My entire Monster Rancher EVO disc log can be found on my MySpace blog. ^^ I have quite a collection.

Howdy y’all. So, I haven’t updated since January. Another two months and I would’ve made it a year. Oh well. So yeah, a whole lot has happened in 8 months. Let’s see here:

I had my wisdom teeth pulled out. I seriously hope this was necessary surgery, because I felt so sick afterwards. I passed out for four hours, though Pap said the medicine should have knocked me out for a good eight hours.

I watched “The Nightmare Before Christmas” in a 3D theater. It was pretty cool, though the only really neat 3D scenes were the snow effects. That looked really pretty. Yesterday, I saw “Casino Royale”. It’s a lot slower than most of the Bond movies I’ve seen. I also found it interesting that it didn’t end with a sex scene (sorry if you consider that a spoiler). Bro told me it was supposed to be based on the first Bond book which explains a lot about why the movie seemed so different. It left me with mixed feelings. I don’t love it. I don’t hate it.

I am an official participant in National Novel Writing Month which can be found at: http://www.nanowrimo.org/ I have so far written 38,612 out of the required 50,000 words (over 60 pages thus far single-spaced). As for what the story is about: It’s about a multiple personality who’s trying to equally share their lives within one life. There are absolutely NO psychotic alternate personalities or abused childhoods (cause they’re cliched as Inferno). It was actually inspired by a scene from the movie “The Prestige” (the new one I saw a while back). It’s nothing like the movie though. I can safely say, following the plot line, I’m not even halfway done. Though there’s been a lot of weird fillers with nonsensical chit-chat between the characters. Most of them I managed to actually tie into the plot. Weird.

I joined various sites. If you plan to join, please type “GhostlyMaiden” in any referral prompts. I’ll love you forever! Anyway, I’ve joined MySpace which you’ll see on my profile list. I’ve uploaded 4 of my homemade AMVs, so if you can leave a comment, it’d be much appreciated. I’ve joined a cute virtual pet site called GoPets ((http://www.gopetslive.com/)) and have a cat called KitaKata and a dog called AviRan. I’ve joined Konami Stars ((http://www.konamistars.com/)). I’ve joined Cyber Nations ((http://www.cybernations.net/)) and Cyber Citizens ((http://www.cybercitizens.net/)). On Cyber Nations, I’m Lady Amethyst, ruler of Timnia. On Cyber Citizens, I’m a police cop called Mya Claire.

Oh yeah, I officially had my first kiss. It was wasted on a smoker who shoved his tongue down my throat first chance he got, which was our second outing. Now to clear things up, I am asexual. This guy lost any shot he had with me cause only a horndog gets that touchy feely on a second outing (I don’t date). I hate that touchy feely stuff. Yuck. Yes, I’m twenty (oh yeah, I had my birthday. There’s an event :P). I may or may not have a hormone deficiency. Honestly, I couldn’t care less.

Unfortunately, he’s gone and told his friends about me “dumping” him (we weren’t dating moron). You broke my heart. You’re lucky I didn’t break your face. Anyways, they’ve been harassing me. Too bad I’m not allowed a CWP until I’m 21. Then I can get a gun and cap their arses if they ever get physical. So far, it’s stupid things like calling me an ugly -censored- and giving me raggedy old shoes saying “they’re perfect for me”. This really shows how much he was listening to me cause I said more than enough times “I DON’T GIVE A -CENSORED- ABOUT APPEARANCES!” I didn’t even know they were trying to insult me. I just figured they mistook me for a homeless person like some people have. I’ve also been mistaken for a street-side prostitute, a drug junkie and a high school dropout. -snicker- I swear this guy is pathetic. We talked for two days and he’s heartbroken? Puh-lease. Get a life. Okay that’s enough of my personal life as of now. Onwards.

Star Fox Assault

WOOT! I did Missions 2-8 on Story Mode. Bro gave me tips on how to get through the missions which helped A lot. Next up is Mission 9!

I’ve played loads more than this, but to do 8 months worth of games? N O W A Y ! So, just what I’ve done today. ^^

Windy Days and Smokey Casinos

Currently Listening To: Limp Bizkit - "My Generation"

IRL

Well, this weekend has been a bit more atypical than usual. Yesterday, I managed a 12 mile walk. Pap picked me up before I could complete the full 16 miles because 1.) temperature had dropped quite considerably and 2.) my cd player "froze" and it ain't no fun walking without some music blaring in my ears. It truly is amazing that I'm not completely deaf yet. The wind wasn't so bad on the way to the mall. Reversed, however, let's put it this way: The wind was blowing so hard that it kept knocking off my headsets. First time I ever paid attention to the sky in such weather as well. The clouds rolled by incredibly fast. In short, BEST walk I've had yet. At the mall, I bought a Simple Plan album and the ps2 game "We Love Katamari". Now today, I get a rude wake-up call by my pap, because ma has a sudden urge to visit Atlantic City and I'm the only one in the household that can print out mapquest directions. I decide to tag along for observational research and to ditch out on cleaning my room. ^^ Here are my results: I still hate casinos as much as I did when I was 7 years old. Ma used to bring me along with her whenever she couldn't find a babysitter, so I was stuck bored as heck in the lobby surrounded by flashing lights, noise, and smoke. Same thing happened here, except I brought my DS with me this time around. Speaking of which, casino rules say it's 21 up there. I'm only 19. Not sure what other states say. I was a little more interested in the actual town. The area is even more rundown than my old college area. Ice covered about 80% of the sidewalks. Unfortunately, the weather was too cold for my ma, so we just went home right after she played Blackjack. Oh well. Oh yeah, I also saw "Munich" yesterday. It was good, BUT so SLOW.

Animal Crossing: Wild World

Let's see now. Yesterday was La-Di-Day. I never actually heard any of the songs cause I was sitting in a theatre watching 15 minutes worth of previews at the time. Besides, little bro wouldn't want me changing the town tune anyway. Bluebear also tried to move out again. Today was the fishing tourney, but I didn't participate due to the whole "Atlantic City" thing. I met Kapp'n in the cafe as well. I also managed to finally catch a cockroach. Those things blend into the trees too well. Blaire has come down with the flu now, too. Seems Sable and Nook are childhood friends...

We Love Katamari

Not sure, what number stage I'm at. I just finished cleaning that one kid's room. That's for sure. I was pretty tired from my walk when I was playing at the time, so my heart wasn't too into it.

Stars Shine On Empty Nights

Currently Listening To: Nightwish - "Elvenpath"

IRL

I slept. I ate. I drank. I've finished one of the pineapple cakes ma cooked already and in return my stomach feels like a vomit factory. I've also had chest pains ALL day. Doctors never seem to notice anything wrong, so I'm guessing they're hypochondrial. Yes, that's my invented form of an adjective for hypochondriac. For those who don't know, it means "all in my head". I've been raiding amv.org and youtube.com for new songs to look for when I next go to the mall. So far, I have Nightwish's "Elvenpath", Linkin Park's "Dedicated", Simple Plan's "Welcome To My Life", "Untitled" and "Shut Up", and  Josh Groban's "Never Let Go". I still have a few more songs I need to find the albums for like Hoobastank's "Remember Me". Here's hoping I go on a walk for the first time in three weeks tomorrow.

Animal Crossing: Wild World

Yesterday, I met Saharah for the first time. She wanted me to deliver her products to Mable and Pelly. I recieved a "western vista" as my reward. Camofrog tried to move out, but I stopped him. Today, Redd came to town as scheduled. I bought a fake painting once again. Frobert has come down with the flu. I made a new constellation, Wilting Heart. It's of a plucked rose, still beautiful, but will soon wilt, then die. I have 8 other constellations as well: Triforce (Legend of Zelda fans should know this), Phoenix Down (Final Fantasy fans should know this), Chou Chou (a butterfly; chou is japanese for "butterfly"; chou chou is french for "cabbage head", an endearing term mothers give their daughters), Lillith (a bat; named after the "true" first woman and mother of demons/vampires), Sakura (a cherry blossom which is what it's name means), Eternity (an hourglass), Gaia's Left Eye (an eye with a tear; based off a concept from a story that's labeled WIP), and Right Eye Kronos (same as Gaia's Left Eye). I could probably come up with little stories to go along with 'em, but I'm too tired to tell them right now.

Another Inside

Currently Listening To: Simple Plan - "Welcome To My Life"

IRL

Well, I just had a stimulating dream while meditating. I saw a feral, young, beast girl covered in blood and wounds snarling at me from behind the shadow of leaves. Her emerald eyes sharp without fear, only the notion that she will not hesitate to kill me if I threaten her life in any way. Hmph. She'll be fun to play with. Well, I think I'm starting to get a little self-conscious about my image. Someone at work made another "You look pregnant" comment. It is IMPOSSIBLE for me to be pregnant!!! ARRRGGGHHH! Pop says I should say "I'm three months along", so I can get special treatment. -_-; -Sigh- It's not my fault! -voice gets annoyingly higher- Mama keeps buying junk food even though I practically yell at her to stop since she never eats most of it anyway. Even bro joins me in this arguement. When we have the sweet tooth, WE buy the sweets dang it! Everyone knows junk food is about ten times cheaper than the healthier stuff. -huff-

Animal Crossing: Wild World

I dug up my golden shovel today. Yay me. Katrina was in town, so I had her read my fortune. I have no idea what it did. The fortune involved something with a "waterfall". At least they actually sound like real fortunes with these cards of her's. I haven't done a tarot reading in ages for that matter. A Wheel of the Year spread would be beneficial since it's the start of the New Year. Guess I'll dig out my cards later. Something was up with Sable today. She wouldn't say what and Robin even commented on it. o_O Mee-sah curious...

Soul Calibur III

Finished Chronicle 9. First time they were so offensive. 5 cavaliers charging at once? SWEET.

Hold On To What Brought You Here

Currently Listening To: Josh Groban - "Never Let Go"

IRL

Not much. Spent most of the time watching Naruto fansubs via a very convenient site. The longer it takes to air on network tv, the longer it'll take to get R1 US dvds! I just noticed the butterfly emblem on my profile a few minutes ago. It's kinda insulting. I don't go about borrowing people's junk. >< I'm feeling really tranqued right now. This "Never Let Go" song is so calming and not too sappy. Plus, I'm beat from work. Oh yeah, note to self, walk to Wal-Mart next day off. Need new headsets soon.

 Animal Crossing: Wild World

Walker is trying to move out again. I think I gave him enough "Don't go!" 's and a few "Th-that can't be!" 's. Savannah visited my house today. I gave Camofrog an ankylo torso. He SHOULD be grateful. Nookie would've paid 3k for that thing compared to Camofrog's 510 bells. Witnessed an amusing conversation between Robin and Blaire where Robin says it's like she's talking to a mirror. Pretty much is, since they're the same personality. ^^ Bluebear is still obsessed with modern furniture.

Soul Calibur III

Took two tries, but I finished Chronicle whatever number comes after the one from my previous post.

Ramen And Coke Just Don't Mix

Currently Watching: Adult Swim - "Family Guy"

IRL

Evening y'all. I've discovered many things today. 1.) The first two bites of every slice of pineapple cake is one of the most offensive tastes on this planet, but develops into a tolerable state within the later bites. 2.) Eating ramen for breakfast can leave the taste and temperature stuck in your throat for the rest of the day. Running some nice cold coca-cola is not helpful at all. Milk doesn't seem to alter this effect if drank after three hours from initial ramen consumption. 3.) I found that I like having my cat sleeping on my stomach more than my need for caffeine. I didn't think anything could beat that. When it comes to tv I'd happily skip out during commercials, or I'd pause my video games mid-battle. When it comes to my cat, I kick him off only when my legs get cramped. I've discovered a convenient part of yahoo where I can get local listings of my favorite channels, so I'll probably be developing the "couch potato" meter back up now. Nice to see Dead Zone is still aired even if it's at 1 A.M. Case Closed is gone. Bummerosa. Stargate's still going strong. Ooh, migraine. I think my brain is mashed potatoes.

Animal Crossing: Wild World

There's something about that Nook character. How does he add a "second floor" to a two story house? That old Nook must have dragged bro and me, while we were sleeping, to the third floor. That old raccoon better have kept his hands to himself. -smoke spurts from the top of head- Anyways, I've put all my photos of my animal neighbors on the second floor now. Anything eventacious to report? Hmmm...Frobert gave me his photo today.

Soul Calibur III

Finished Chronicle 7, "Unfulfilled Heart". 120k gold pieces. Sweet.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Nightmare Troubadour

FINALLY beat Yami no Bakura. Managed to pull out a Mystical Space Typhoon to dispel the bloody Destiny Board this time around. Isn't that supposed to be an ouija board for that matter? Can't remember that episode too well right now.

Boredom Killed The Cat; Nope That Doesn't Work At All

Currently Watching - "Naruto"

IRL

-Yawn-. Today has been pretty uneventful. Spent half of it sleeping. Half of it cleaning. Half of it reading. Oops, too many halves. Ah, screw percentages. The movie "Hostel" is out, but I'm apparently the only one in my family who gets a kick out of that type of stuff. My little bro considered it for a while due to the movie reviews at Rotten Tomatoes, but he backed out. My dad said "HECK NO!" Squeamish, ain't he? And ma says she likes "killing, killing", but I explained to her that it's "torturing, killing." It's one thing to watch a guy die from a bullet wound to the head and it's another to watch a person getting their skin peeled off, having appendages amputated, and having pointy objects poking deep into your skin. (I hope I used enough big words to not scar any little kiddies who happen to wander in). Btw, I'm just interested in getting some visual aid for my stories. If I were watching someone irl going through that stuff I'd probably hurl. In short, it looks like I'll be waiting 'til this is out on dvd. Bummerosa. Plus I've watched Adult Swim for the first time in three...five weeks(?). I've missed A LOT in Fullmetal Alchemist haven't I? Also finally saw Neon Genesis Evangelion for the first time. The second most-used anime in AMVs at amv.org. Don't really see much that's worth the hype thus far.

Animal Crossing: Wild World

I seem to have forgotten two things to do in this game. 1.) I forgot to see Totakeke last night. 2.) I forgot to meet with Joan for the second consecutive time. I almost forgot to check in on this game today for that matter. Anyway, I saw Phyllis in the Cafe today complaining about her job and giving me advice on footwear. Brewster revealed a bit of his past today. Yep, he's just like Mabel, or was it Sable? Whichever hedgehog is sewing at least. I managed to finish paying off my second mortage and can expect a new floor tomorrow.

Mario Kart DS

Managed to get a bronze cup on 150cc Mirror Mode Flower Cup. -Sigh- The gold cup seems so far away...

Soul Calibur III

Just for kicks, I took out my other memory card and made another save file, so I can have another ten slots for character creation. 10 girls on the first. 10 guys on the other. Made 3 guys so far: the power hungry noble "Shade", the bloodthirsty mercenary "Jared", and the kind, idealistic young "Naho". Probably won't be making others for a while since my CAS collection is still incomplete. I'm still missing a few pieces for the girls that haven't showed up in the armor shop yet.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Nightmare Troubadour

Well, I'm at lvl. 15 and I haven't managed to find Yami no Bakura today. -Sigh-
