The game isn't too easy.. Its just you. Like others said, play random CPUs on level 9, and classic on intense. If the CPU is that easy, try humans. Online shouldn't be lagging that much for anyone any more. I've put over 50+ hours into brawling with random people online, thats more than anything else I've done in the game. Lag online in Brawl is either your connection or someone your playing. I've been playing it online since march, and its never been as bad as people make it out to be, or broken for that matter. I'd say out all the random games I've played online, only about 40% of the games had problems.

I love all the great looking animations and the havok engine. It feels realistic if you ask me, thats why people are complaining about it feeling slow, which it doesn't to me. Some characters move quicker than others. This probably had to be done to stop people from using so many cheap exploits like wave dashing ect...

I think the game is a masterpeice. Whether you can really enjoy it or not is up to you. The game is probably the best multiplayer game ever created. I don't have many friends over much, and still have lots of fun with the game. This is also the first time I've bought, or really gotten into to a Smash Bros. game. I played melee like twice and didn't have a clue what I was doing, so it didn't interest me much at the time.

If your not really a fan of fighters, it doesn't really matter, as I wasn't. The game requires skill and practicing ,and playing the hell out of the game is how you start develop skills. Theres so much to freakin do in the game. The story mode is cool and can keep you busy for a while. Then they also give you clues on how to unlock everything. Everything totally depends on how you play the game. There are plenty of characters and awesome stages. Try beating classic with everyone on every difficulty and mastering all the characters. Mix up the stages well, play with different amounts of items, different rules ect.

If you begin to get tired of the cpu, get some local friends together and play, or gather up a list of folks from these boards who actively play the game online. You can always play with strangers, which is still pretty fun, but its totally random, and the experience you get may change from game to game as you are in no control over who you are paired up with.

Buy this!

Overall, the game is a great buy. I've had the game since March, and I've honestly put more time into playing online with strangers than anything else. Around 50 + hours. I'm only about 40% done with the Story mode. I have yet to unlock all the characters, complete all the events, build a stage, and beat all the mini games.

I got the game like a day or two after it came out in the U.S.. Online play for the first week or so was pretty much flooded with people trying to play, and there were some lag and freezing issues. After that, things were pretty much hit or miss when it came down to playing against random strangers. The majority of the games I played with random strangers worked fine, you'd get some bad lag occasionally, or games that would freeze, but not so much as to stop me from playing online and enjoying it. Playing with friends worked fine, and still does. This was before. As of now, it seems a lot of people in the u.s. and japan have stop playing the game, so many of the people still playing are ones with good connections and no problems (like me), which I love.

Its like this. Your playing random strangers. You don't know anything about their connection, where they are, or who they are. This is a very fast paced, chaotic, competitive, fun, as well as a very strategic game. The fact that I can get online and play against random strangers worldwide in one of the best games ever created is a joy. I've honestly enjoyed the online portion of this game the most, and thats where I've spent most of my time with the game. In fact today alone, I probably brawled with random people for about 5 hours. I've put nearly 50 hours into brawling with random people. Out of all the random online brawls I played today, maybe about 3 times did I have any problems. I had one game just freeze, another started lagging badly for no reason in the middle of the match, then maybe one or two games that had noticeable input lag, in which I simply and quickly dropped from the match and found another group to play with.

I don't even have that good a connection but most of my games run absolutely fine, and I have a great time Brawling online. Its best to play this game when no one else in your house is using the internet. You might also want to figure out whether you have firewalls that block incoming connections, which may interfere with you being able to connect/find online games in Brawl. This is the reason some people are still having problems with the game.

As far as lag and freezing goes, like I said it doesn't happen that much, and if it does, you can simply quit the game, you have no control over anybody elses online accept yours. This game requires that everyone be on the same page during gameplay, so that everything runs smoothly, and everything is fair. If I'm downloading a file on my computer while playing online in Brawl, that means I will not be on the same page with the other players, as it takes longer for the data sent by the other players to reach my wii , which will mess it up for everyone playing. This can also happen if I'm playing a random person that happens to be in Australia (im in houston tx usa). My connection may not be fast enough to send or receive (download or upload) the data at a rate that keeps the game running smoothly.. Keep this stuff in mind. If anyone is having trouble playing this game online, Nintendo can't control people's internet connections, all they do is provide matchmaking so that you can quickly find someone to play with. I'm not sure but I think it looks for connections closer to you first.....

I love this game, and think its a masterpiece. If you don't buy it your missing out.

decided to put Brawl's online to the test today, and record certain results.

All in all, I must have played closed to 100 random brawls today. I'll also give you some info about my connection. I have probably the slowest AT&T DSL package there is. About 650 kbps down, and 350 kbps up. I do not currently have any Anti-virus software installed on my pc, nor do I have any firewalls. I connect using a linksys wireless router.

Anyways here are the results.

1st attempt at finding a random brawl.

It took about 3 mins to find two opponents who were already waiting. About 15 secs later we had a 4 player basic brawl and were ready to play.

1st game had a tad bit of button lag (noticeable but completely playable), which was my fault because I forgot that I was uploading/downloading a torrent on my computer. After I paused it, there was hardly any noticeable button lag. I played around 6 games with these same guys untill there was only me and another guy remaining. Something must have been wrong with the connection between me and him, because when the 1 vs. 1 match was about to start while at the practice stage, a message popped up saying, "connection to the other players was lost."

So it took me back to the "with anyone" menu. For the 2nd time I attempt to find a Brawl with anyone.

I found a game pretty much immediately. After I selected my character and stage, there were already 3 others waiting. The game ran pretty smooth for the most part, just had a tad more button lag than the previous brawl. When I say a tad, I mean it, because it didn't really have a negative effect on the game whatsoever. After the 1st few games with these same guys, it got even smoother. I decided to quit after a while and find a new group to play with.

So 3rd attempt. I wait around 3 mins or so and get a message saying, connection lost with other players. It disconnects me from the wifi connection. So I get right back on quickly, and select basic brawl again. I pick my character and stage, and then get another message saying, " disconnected during data transfer" or something like that. It disconnects me from the wifi connection once again. I get back on this time waiting about 6 and a half mins or so just messin around in the practice stage, and find 2 players waiting to play. The final player is found rather quickly and we start the game. I played with this same group for about what seemed to be darn near 50 games with only one of the players leaving after a while, and being replaced. I didn't notice much button lag most of the time, accept for a couple times, nothing game changing though, or anything to really complain about.

So thats concludes my Brawl experiment for the day.

Hardly broken if you ask me... Oh, and the last group of dudes I played with today was one of the best experiences I've had since I got the game, no joking. Tons of fun... If your not still playing this game, get rid of it, or quit gaming all together.

I hope some of you realize that there wont be a PS2 version of Call of Duty: World at War. Treyarch has been working on this game since they finished COD 3 (2 years) which wasn't a bad game by any means, especially since they developed it in 9 months. The Wii game will run on a ported COD 4 engine (next-gen). You can bet this game will have pretty good controls too. As for online multiplayer, I'm not sure about that yet. The game will have some form of multiplayer, featuring a unique co-op mode for two players. The other systems will most definitely feature the same online multiplayer that made COD 4 such a good game, in addition to the new 4 player online co-op (excludes wii version). Whether the Wii will feature the standard cod4 online multiplayer is unknown.

If online doesn't work, whos problem is that? I haven't had nearly as bad as an experience online as people are claiming to have had. The game requires everyone playing to be on the same page so that everything can run smooth and everything is fair. If one persons connection isn't on the same page, then everyone else suffers. This is the result you get when playing random, you don't know anything about who your playing against, so it can be hit or miss. Most of my random games have ran fine since I got the game (days after release). So to suggest this game's online doesn't work is just being ignorant. It works fine for me and many others.

Thats both great for you and weird at the same time, as I was just about to ask you about serial numbers. Years ago our aparment was broken into. Our stereo system, tvs, cds,my sega genesis, and other items were taken from us. Our neighbor, or a family member of the neighbors who often hung out there, reported our door being wide open. My mother, being smart, had written down if not all most the serial numbers to the major electronics stolen, and they were tracked to a nearby pawn shop by the police. We got back all the major electronics stolen, only some cds, and other small things were not returned. The person responsibe turned out to be the guy next door who reported it. Learn from this lesson. Serial numbers can come in handy..

Glad you tracked down your stuff..

Believe me, itz not Nintendo's fault you cannot find a game online, or don't have friends with a Wii and a copy of the game.

I usually find games under 30 secs every time. I also do not have much of a problem when it comes to lag. More than half of my games don't have much lag. I sometimes get games that feature a noticeable input lag, but if it effects gameplay too much for me, I simply and quickly exit the game and find another one. You will ocassionally get games that freeze for some reason, but itz not that often, therefor not really a big problem at all.

I haven't even scratched the surface of this gigantic game. I've mainly been playing Wifi, and most of those games have been with random people. So.. Yea, I'm still having fun with Smash..
